I’ve seen the videos come up on my feed, but I’ve had a gut feeling that I should avoid them, so I haven’t watched them. Thank you so much for sharing your opinion and insight about this situation. I think I’ll just skip the videos and pray that things get worked out for Echo sooner than later. Always love seeing you and Radar. The bond you two share always gives me something to smile about before I go to sleep with my Kenzie on my feet. I’m not sure I could sleep without my 85 lb GSD on my feet or across my legs. It would just feel wrong. You and Radar take care of each other and stay safe. 🥰💖💙

Thank you for taking the time to discuss K9 Echo, I personally haven’t seen or heard about the video’s but I do know how people go pretty CRAZY any time an animal is involved in what might look like not so great boarding/treatment I do too BUT I also understand how people make fake accusations over the internet just to get attention whether the attention is good or bad! People need to check out the WHOLE story before making accusations against everyone & OR everything involved 😟🤔🤐
Radar was comforting you while you were talking! Dogs are so intuitive, and Radar knows you. BTW, I was unaware of Echo and the videos; thank you for sharing about him.

What should happen is what is right for echo and not a dog handler putting out wrong information to twist the circumstances in his favour. The sheriffs office need to think about the needs of the dog too. Radar is lucky, he knows he is loved and that’s what makes him a fantastic dog to work with. Cx

I haven't seen the mentioned video but will head over after this. You said something which distressed me very much. You said you allow Radar to drink water that contains algae.
My brother, who was with a department for 40 some years, has had 3 retired K9's. He, unfortunately, lost his last one a few months ago. The COD was bacterial algae poisoning caused by the water of a decorative fish pond. The dog ingested the algae, napped for about an hour, got up and came downstairs to be with my brother. Within minutes of laying down she convulsed and died. A veterinarian told him once the algae was ingested, it was too late. I love the relationship you have with Radar. I have a similar relationship with my Dalmatian, Duke.

Well said the person showing videos on the internet only shows what they want you to see. Remember there is always two sides to a story and lack of communication is often at fault
You're a great cop, that's evident. You analyze all the facts on both sides, then you base your opinion on what is known to you - Echo is fine. I don't know what people expect you to do
I haven’t seen the video and now that I know it exists I definitely won’t see it. I avoid any video where an animal is in distress which is why i Love Radar videos. Sounds like the handler and the dept need to handle it in house. I’m from Texas and my local city has an outstanding K-9 unit so I hope people don’t think this is normal in Texas.
Yes dogs drink any where any time they feel. And yes what both parties did is not benefiting k9 Echo. They give their whole being to do their jobs, which is not a job but what they do naturally. And i believe that Gomez is not best handler and should not get k9. Praying all works out for Echo and he gets all d love and respect he deserves.❤

This is hard to hear about abuse or such a casual attitude toward animals. There is an anger that has no name for people who refuse to give the best care of all animals and those who don’t understand the speciality of a ‘working’ dog. Down times are when you really spoil them with responsible care and lots of ultimate devoted love! ❤. Fight it for the animals!
I'll take care of Radar when you can't!!! Gomez sounds like a nasty person; he wouldn't treat his dog that way if he loved him. I hope he doesn't get the dog back. Thank you for addressing this, Sgt. O'Reilly.
