1 - Organise your tasks. Do the most important things first.
2 - Digital detox. Reduce the time you spend on your phone, social media, etc
3 - Consistency. Doing good things regularly over a long time will make improvements. E.g. go to the gym 3 times a week forever instead of 5 times on one day and never again
4 - Make a financial plan. If you have money then that's good.
5 - Exercise. If you're healthy and fit then that's good.
    Fantastic insights.

@@M_SC I can see your point and I was on that team for a long time. I've noticed that it's basically just another form of procrastination - consuming content instead of practicing the learned knowledge. For me, I have replaced most of it with a few written reminders in my living space. I still consume some self help content, but I've gotten pretty good at aborting when I notice that something is just yet another rehash of known concepts and has no new ideas.

This saved me from watching the whole video. I don't mind consuming content in moderation but what has become absolutely unbearable is the constant background (noise) music that all content creators now use. It is annoying and frustrating, and instant sensory over load. Can we not just listen to someone talk anymore. Ok, rant over. Thank you.

I’m definitely not doing everything I’m capable of… but also I don’t know that I want to reach my potential. Taking life slow, having a ton of down time, achieving financial and time freedom, and feeling at peace and rested has been so enjoyable lately. Spending a lot of time online is free and keeps me occupied when I’m not working or working out. Keeping it educational and philosophical is important, but idk what I’d really want to do IRL instead… The internet taught me to knit and sew and cut hair and garden and preserve food and bake bread and PT my glutes to better support my knees and keep chickens and budget and invest, and loads and loads more. I’m not sure that I want to achieve more than a simple, happy, free life with my family.

It is so ironic that we were all taught as kids to prioritize things in everyday life, do homework before play etc. But somehow when we became adults we forgot all that and have to be told to do the chores/errands before playing with social media or chat with friends. 😂

    • @Wendathena
      @Wendathena 7 місяців тому +2

True, but it can also be the downfall of many who have anxiety or OCD and are people pleasers. Instead we become workaholics, who don’t put our own needs first to take care of ourselves and never take time off to enjoy life or figure out what is right for our own lives. My family and husband think I am too rigid and won’t be flexible enough to let things go and have fun every once in a while.

Hi Gabe, this is a little off topic but if you ever wonder who your advice and life lessons reach and if they make a difference, I'm here to say that they do. And I'm also here to say, that you're never too young or too old to learn a thing or two from others. I'm 56 years old and I'm still learning a lot. I quite enjoy your You tube/channel (whatever you want to call it) and I honestly appreciate the help in advice that you have given. What you do, does make a difference. I just thought you needed to know that. Kudos for being you. :)

I like how you frequently take a holistic approach to your mindset, your habits, and your life. it’s important on a regular basis to train your mind and body and spirit. many times when we grow up, we get lazy and apathetic and it’s easy to blame other people or take the easy path
But many habits start small and you just have to build them into your routine until it’s just what you do and who you are. Fitness, let’s say you start a new habit to do five push-ups and five bodyweight squats every single day that is a very easy and fast habit to do
Then in time once you have that dialed in for a couple months, then see if you can go for 10 or even two sets of your 5 every day. You probably spend way more time than that using Tech every day.
Basically, taking a small habit that is achievable then you can build on it rather than trying to do hours and hours of complicated habits
It’s much better to do five push-ups a day for the rest of your life than to do five once a month or whatever
After doing the Saint Jude push-up challenge last year year, I added doing one set of push-ups every day to my daily habits list. Usually I do 25 at least, but I can do more as desired. I do have that baseline as the default though
I added a reading habit four times a week, and my minimum threshold is five minutes. often I could read for much more, but I find that just getting started is usually my obstacle
James clear’s book atomic habits is very good at talking about these things also thanks again, Gabe and everyone here and have a great week

Gabe gabe gabe gab gab gab? Fangsle round the clarmers daughters, hiding all the sunlight's good for us. Be calm Timothy and eat your foolscap litany of dreadful rumours. After all, the bishop does not tangle his diocese with the diaspora of the malevolent cursory of the mere tongue induced street mongering cadence of other distractions does he? Of course not...which is why they need to have faith in us all remaining as the good sheep that many people are, and of course the good lord shall provide all, Amen.
