The 66 series or mostly are direct ripoff of Gundam Kits from Bandai Master Grades while the 88 series is where Daban stepped up their game adding more details or extra parts or a model kit metal build versions making it somewhat unique compared to Bandais counterpart
Thank you mob, its a decade worth of Bandai-rip cash grab by Daban so the list is gonna be long but we better thank Bandai for putting over Daban's shenanigans and not canning them like what they did to DM
Welp, Daban is persistent like a weed 🤣 and can sure adapt like a cockroach. I mean changing their boxes to boring grey ones with numbers on it and occasionally removing printed manuals so yeah, when i aligned my recent MG grey boxes together, its just boring stacks of grey boxes, theres no sign nor anything that would imply that such boxes contained shady knockoff kits
MG Black Phenex is totally rad. I mean you can purchase the regualr Phenex in Gold but it is somewhat so regretting to chip off the gold coat and paint it in black. Good thing Daban Model provided us with an alternative. Please let me know the experience after you build those two, Due to multiple backlogs, I don't think I will be getting my hands on them anytime soon
@@HyperWeaponHobby I just finished both black phenex and phoenix nt ver, the build is fairly similar, the tail stabilizers are nitorious for falling off. the gundam itself is sturdy. also the armed armor de adaptors on the backpack is pretty loose. i prefer the gold phenex over the black phenex purely because of looks, however, the black phenex is less of a finger print magnet than the gold.
Thats great! Thank yoy for sharing your build experience. Based from what you said, it seems theyre somewhat tolerable with no major issues. How exciting, I wish i could get my hands on those two. But if only I would only select one, I would choose the black for its ease of repainting
@@HyperWeaponHobby If Daban produce that I will get 1 but I want the OVA to be Daban because of his Bazooka. I have TT HONGLI Sinanju MG but it doesn't have one.
@drewquitco6019 aside from dragon momoko and some obscure bootleg company. Daban Model and TT Hongli reissue kits that they have released in the past, just have to wait for it. In modern timrs, they also released new kits which most of the time have a good improvement over thr quality of their previpus kits. Its all good and all that you recently hop into this hobby, just take it by your own pace and surely those kits that we are waiting for will be released by our favorite bootlegers in no time. There are lots of available bootleg kits to give your attnetion with in the meantime
@drewquitco6019 i havent built my assault shroud duel, I was gonna build 5 of them (aegis, duel, blitz, buster and strike) and of course, I wil be expecting fitting issues for those kits. Get some file set and some sandpapers. Theyte cheap and good for adjusting pegs and holes.
Any of these do you fully recommend? Like kits that doesn’t have too much issued and can be fixed easily by a straight builder like myself? I’m starving for mg kits and bandai prices are killing me lol.
When I started, i found mono eye non appealing pero nun dumadami na ang mga bidang Gundam sa collection ko. Parang gusto ko mag explore ng ibang mobile suit and yes I found Zakus and other similar Monoeyes interesting one. Hoped na mag rerelease si Daban ng Tri Stars Dom, kalain mo in, 3 in 1 na Dom haha, ang gandang i custom paint pa since meron lang tatlong copy
Well, im located in Philippines too, so Im not syre where to buy these on international scale, maybe in gundamcentral? Shopee and lazada are the best platform to buy these when in the Philippines
The freedom ver. 1 is the original MG version released by Bandai. Im not sure if there's a knockoff version of it (the strike freedom has many bootleg counterpart DM, TT Hongli, Daban). Now the Freedom 2.0 is another story. Bandai gave a new take on the 2.0 version with a more modernized design and a proper engineering. Of course the Daban Freedom 2.0 took a new level of approach in terms of very not so subtle details compared to what Bandai did.
@@asionlauren4349 Well thats another line. MGEX typically refers to the "Master Grade EX" series of Gundam model kits, which are highly detailed and articulated plastic models. It's like Master Grade dialed up to 11. There's only two of these so far The Gundam Unicorn and Strike Freedom/ I doubt we'll be seeing a knockoff version of these anytime soon
As per my knowledge, the 66XX series are the first line of Daban Models MG where most of the kits during its run are more or less direct ripoff from Bandai wherein the 88XX series is where Daban dial it up to 11. The 88XX series features unique engineering details by Daban and incorporating most MB models into model kit version which is not an exact replica of Bandais
The 66XX series are mostly composed of Master Grades that are a direct copy from Bandai's MG line. While the 88XX are the newer MG series line of Daban Model, though most are still copies from Bandai Kits, but the 88XX have unique twist of added details, unique parts and accessories or sometimes, the kits were based from Bandai's metal builds or HIRM and not just MGs
If master grades are your first Bootleg kits then it can be quite a challenge due to their inner frames. I started my first bootlegs with the HG 1/144 Huiyan model and I definitely learned a lot on how to adjust fitting issues 🤣🤣. At least those kits are cheap enough for me to try it
Yeah mostly built HG and RGs Bandai so this is my first 1/100 scale as well as bootleg just to test it out if I will like it besides couldn't find a local Tallgeese 2 that didn't break the bank 🤣
Just be careful and always testfit pegs and holes. Its not like Bandai where snap fitting is perfect. At least prepare some file, sandpaper, sanding sticks or even a pin vise. These tools are great for fitting adjustments
For an amateur builder, yes and no. It depends on what you have. If it's your first time building, don't buy MG kits, especially from bootleg. Try HG first. Trust us. If you want MG kits from Daban and don't want to have bad experience, I suggest to you buy Buster Fighter, Wing EW ver. Ka, or Dynames. Those are the easiest MG kits I had built and learnt how to be careful with it.
TT Hongli MG Kits are not really advisable for beginners. Too many loose and tight parts and other breakable parts and falling parts. I started my first bootleg with TT Honglo HG 1/144 kits. I learned the hard way of adjusting pegs, sanding holes and filing stuff 🤣🤣🤣
Ah yes, the classic HG Wing Gundam Zero bundled together with Deatscythe. Ive been avoiding those things and somewhat controlling my urge not to get them because when I get my hands on those filthy kits, I will definitely become obsessed to make them look somewhat decent. Im gonna give them a full makeover 🤣🤣🤣. Heck im even gonna skipped work to finished those cr@ppy abominations. Im definitely a nutjob whenever I get myself on some cr@ppy kits that normally will torture those who build it. But I have too many backlogs, specially master grades and I am hoping I can reduce them first
Its like their HG lines are mote on Universal Century kits, particularly on the zeon mobile suits. Well, I guessed they really need to really Master Grades for that too
Well, i can only advise when it comes to Daban or other knockoff, always TESTFIT 😅. Its another additional effort compare with Bandai that you'll just snap fit everything but believe me, test fitting and making adjustments will save from frustrations. I have to learn that tje hard way from my first BL kit
Can't wait for the Daban Model 88xx series, thank you for this!!
We'll put an arrchive list to all the bootleg/ knockoff kits that has been released on the face of earth
whats the difference betwen 88 and 66 series?
