I watched a symposium of Dr. Alison and some other Girard-oriented peace activists and they asked the honest question of whether they were doing anything, as the only thing that has worked in many places is a police crackdown. I appreciate the candor, I hope there’s an answer, but I wonder if Girard’s actual work makes it through when he is interpreted only by peace-activists and academics who all try to avoid confrontation. Girard himself seemed like a competitive guy underneath.
