"Can we believe in Girard's theory without being Christian? Yes" All of mankind are Mimetic, christian or otherwise.

Sorry, but from my perspective, Girardism is simply a philosophical cloak to demean the spiritual efficacy of the blood of Christ's ability to redeem mankind from sin. When, through the Holy Spirit, the blood of Christ is applied by faith to the human heart, it changes the heart of a man infinitely more than all the
intellectualism found among all the philosophers who have ever walked the earth! Until Christ returns to judge the world, understanding mimetic rivalry and scapegoat mechanisms will do little to nothing in solving the violence which exists in the Earth today. The only solution will be found in the Kingdom of God which Christ Himself will set up when He returns.
