Let's be honest, Chester's entire career was a unforgettable moment.
YES!! Very well said
no need to state the obvious
Proud to be the 800th like
Fact
We are all just a moment or quicker....
In the End. He Mattered.
Damn straight! Here, here!
He tried so hard and got so far.
Indeed he did ! RIP
He could not break the habit. All he wanted was a place for his head. :'((
everyone matters! but still he was one of the best singers in this generation!
The fact that he hit a high note just after that SCREAM really shows how talented but also an hard worker professional he was, a great loss for the entire world, we love u Chester!!
Sadly, for some reason the clip they used for that part of Giving Up in this video was edited, you can hear the sound hand-off after the scream is done. In the original broadcast he did that scream in 2 parts. Took nothing away from it, honestly, I have no idea why they saw the need to jack with it for this compilation. I agree with you, though, that high note right after was incredible.
I was lucky enough to hear him sing at my highschool in the nineties. He was the singer for a band called Grey Dayz.
Did you catch the documentary they released?
@@itatsuuchiha96 what documentary :O
I would give everything to see Grey Daze playing a show with Chester!!!!
@@user-zr3eu7ng5h I want to say this was 95 or 96. It wasn't long after that he parted ways to join LP.
That's awesome. I wish I saw him in concert. :(
*You mattered in the end.*
daiver oh god, the feels with this comment...
My feels
definitely not crying a river
daiver There goes the waterworks again...
GOD STOP TAKING MUSICIANS FROM US!
SWITCH TO POLITICIANS
That "Given up" scream is a piece of art.
Also he didn't do it in these shows, that video was edited well enough to make people believe it was just one scream. In fact he took 2 different screams from 2 different shows. Chester has done this scream 8 times but it wasnt in neither of these 2 shows
And I thought the one step closer scream was long... lol
@@justsomeguy6283 is there a video of him doing it for real? I know that one is fake

17 seconds scream from given up is fucking real but he only made that only 5 or 8 time in live.. the rest he could not.

R.I.P. Chester
I love chester..
But legends dont die like that

@Krishna das ! Are you mad at him for taking his own life ? Because people in their right minds wouldn’t do it! Obviously he had gone through something and was sick enough that he took his own life! How can you be salty about something like this ???

He will Always be SOOO missed!!!
That's an absolute bullshit. Sadly...
That is an a amazing line...

How do you know
*I never had the chance to see Linkin Park. I thought I'd have another decade to see you.....sadly, I was wrong. Rest in peace Chester.*
ContactingTheDead That's one of the worst feelings, I will never get to see Chester do this or anything like this live. I was listening to them at like 12 years old or something. I'm crying and laughing and smiling and I just can't. And yeah they could do a memorial concert without him but it will never be the same
i was so close to see them live in canada when chester broke his foot landing on that water bottle i thought i would have another chance to but i was wrong as well RIP chester
Matthew Warkentin I know what you mean, it's so sad. Things can change in an instant.
I feel the same way I tough to the same thing!!! Now I'm sitting balling my eyes out staring at my Meteora and Hybrid Theory's LPs....they where my fav band since I was 11!!!!

adrenaline why did he commit suicide?
3:58 he must've been thinking for 17 seconds straight "don't pass out, don't pass out"

1/ His words/lyrics
2/ His legacy
3/ His pain
Diflatte what was his legacy
4. His voice
5.Linkin Park Live performance
And voice
@@girishkumar604 the positive effect he had on millions
Honestly, Chester's whole life is unforgettable. He suffered through abuse as a child and addiction, the death of his friend Chris Cornell. And he was - no, he still is - a legend, a great one at that. He sang songs that reached out to people, that people could relate to. His songs had meaning. Its a shame he died, and I send my regrets to the Linkin Family. Long live Chester Bennington.
So true, he survived through so much and maybe that's why his vocals could (and still can) hit you so viscerally. He actually knew what I was going through & the things/truths that I couldn't speak for myself, provided a way of expressing what I needed. It's not an exaggeration to say I'm still here today because as a teen I found Linkin Park and especially Chester's vocals. RIP Chester and thank you.
yes he was

That piano rendition of "Crawling".................. damn.
Goosebumps.
Rest in peace man. A talent like that will surely be missed in this world.
Thoughts and prayers to his family and band.
The Astronaut literally had goosebumps
The Astronaut These wounds, they will not heal. :(
The Astronaut I actually teared up. That hit me super hard
Anyone know where you can find this whole performance from this view?
@Kira Kitten
I'm still looking as well but if I find it I will be sure to send it your way because it was a beautiful performance.
today is three years without him. these last three years have been so hard for me, but i've forced myself to keep going because i know that's what chester would've wanted. legends never die.
Tommy?
He is Wilbur soot
All good kinga? Keep strong best wishes!
Soon its 4 damn years and I still start crying 😭
You gotta keep going because one day we will be the only people left to carry his legend and memory
He wasn’t supposed to come to this world, he’s higher than this world
OH FOR PETES SAKE, He was a man, troubled and alone with his demons. He was not strong enough to beat them. Some put the past behind them.and risexabove it. Some live it everyday of their lives. He crucified himself daily with the memory of his troubled childhood. I stopped listening to LP after crawling was released. I've never seen anyone with such self loathing for themselves. It's just weird . He had the world by the balls and could find no happiness in a dream career, beautiful family and millions of adoring fans. WTF.
You can like them or hate them. You can't deny that linkin park is a piece of the story of the music and so is Chester. You will be missed man, so much
Damn right. RIP.
I wish more people had this mentality. I was never the biggest Linkin Park fan but their influence (and the nostalgia that I associate with some of their songs) is undeniable. RIP Chester.
Chester might be dead. But his pain released in the albums probably saved thousands of lives.
he helped so many people get through depression when he was suffering himself, so upsetting :(
or now a lot of lives are in danger of the same fate because of his selfish choice
Thousands? I think hundreds of millions
Admiral Ackbar i hear/belive that if you cant save yourself you can at least save someone by expressing you'r pain & save someone cause they realize someone understands....
That's probably the entire number of people that listened to linkin park. I don't think that hundreds of millions of people are suicidal. It is a niche part of human population.
This mans voice was my childhood, rest in peace Chester you'll be missed forever more.
One of the best bands of our generation. The way Chester sang, the lyrics, the emotion put into performance is second to none. Chris Cornell and Chester were both dealing with stuff that nobody really can understand, and I miss them both so much. I will always have a lump in my throat listening to Chester sing crawling acoustic..
Not of your generation....it is the best band of all time❤️
I won't act like I was a huge fan of LP, but this shakes the entire music industry. Another legend who passed away too soon. R.I.P
TeamS Listen to Meteora if you haven't already
Michelle Ling or hybred theory
I'm recommending A Thousand Suns
TeamS lol, people act all sad but by Sunday no one will remember him
Cynical 2DD That is SO wrong. They were wildly popular eventhough you didn't like them. Worldwide.
41, beautiful wife, 6 wonderful children, living his dream, still couldn't fight the trauma of his childhood. people who harm other people don't deserve to live because they will destroy you forever. rip chester.
😭😭😭
so revenge is the solution to life? sick way to solve everything..
Minh Le yea. I heard that Chesters dad was a police officer in the SVU. And the person who molested Chester was also molested when they were young so his dad dropped the charges.
that's how it usually goes :( this circle of abuse ended with the death of such a kind person who couldn't take it any longer.
Actually, I believe Chester's dad told him his abuser was also abused, and Chester was the one who decided not to press charges.
That's the kind of person he was. He couldn't hurt someone else who was hurting, no matter what.
It’s always confused me that people never thought of the possibility that the guy singing music about suicide and depression might be still dealing with it himself. That’s why link in park is so good. It’s fucking real
He spoke about it tho so idk how people were surprised
"He showed no signs of suicidal behaviour."

People might not like his music, but nobody can deny the fact that Chester was one of the most beautiful people in this world. His ability to love and cherish people, be so charitable and giving is something we can all see and respect. His horrid past of physical and mental abuse made him do this. This is just too sad. He wasn't just a legendary musician, he was a good man who cared deeply about people.
Keshav Vij fuck people who doesn't like his music, those are the people you dont need in your life.
Thanks Keshav bhaiya... That means alot
Keshav Vij even my dad is not impressed with Linkin Park. But I don't hate him for that. he likes his own music and I like my own.
+Ave Maria, gratia plena. You're so fucking ignorant and need to learn more about depression and the people that have suicidal thoughts
Ave Maria, gratia plena. go fuck off ignorant bitch.
I was a little too young in the beginning of Linkin Park to truly understand the lyrics but it still made me feel something with every song. As an adult, i got it. Whenever i was at my lowest or felt the weight of the world on my shoulders, i listened to them and it made me feel like someone out there understood what i was going through and i wasn’t alone. Losing Chester was a huge shock and hurt for me and many others, but this is one loss that just never really gets easier. This man spoke to generations and helped us all get through some horrible shit in life and it’s heartbreaking he couldn’t get this his pain and suffering. RIP to the legend, Chester. 🖤

That was my first and last time watching them live. Oh man, I almost cried throughout the show. I grew up listening to LP and at 26 years old, I finally saw them, not knowing that in a few months Chester would die. It is a sad and happy feeling at the same time. RIP.

without autotune or editing and his voice is perfect. He is truly a legend. I listen to many rock artists and bands and I love them all but I admit that Chester always stood out with his amazing voice and performance. Unforgettable Chester Bennington moments : his life 🖤
Dude had one hell of a fucking voice. Always respected him regardless of whether or not I liked LP's newer music. R.I.P., your music was a huge part of my youth. All those rainy days on my long bus ride home listening to Hybrid Theory and Meteora on repeat.
Something happened to the music world when Chester died.
He left a void.
Wether you were a new fan or one that grew up on Linkin Park like i did.
You felt it.
Absolutely, i still mourn him and think of him every single day . Me and Tobi ( his sister) write on Twitter every day, shes really suffering from loosing him, being bipolar just like Chester one can imagine. She always thought she would be the one to go first , having several suicide attempts behind her. She is so nice and i cherish our friendship❤
@@eternity68 God...I hope she is doing fine now. God bless all!
Me too, friend. I never realized it until it was too late, but Chester and Linkin Park was my first real stepping stone to music. I had focused more on different bands and metal later, but it was an unexpectedly hard blow to hear about him. I still feel the negative space he left behind, that you talked about, even to this day.
He was truly brilliant and I wish I'd have gotten the chance to see them live or even hug him so tightly, that all his problems went away, and that he would feel the love, his fans had for him.
We all love you, Chester, and we miss you.
I'm a new fan, and I agree
Now his songs seems to be more dark and serious, and it brings even more pain, to know that a person who sang that couldn't take his pain so much he committed suicide
Now I'm insecure and suicidal, and scared of anything, that reminds me of my past, even of good things, and scared of suicidal notes. And I used to listen to some Linkin park in childhood, even if I wasn't big fan of it. So...
Now I'm reasonable listen to it, to make myself accept my own suicidal tendencies, and face my *real* feelings, and don't run from it and don't degrade of hidden pain
It hurts af, but I feel how I'm slowly heal. It helped me much better, than "support" of some of my "friends" (but somes actually tried to help, and it really helped), and only therapy by itself
R.i.p. Chester. One can save millions, but millions couldn't save one
Amen to that. His voice is one of a kinda. No man/woman can ever replace that.
NEVER
My God why ? why? Look at him.
We will never get another one like him.
I’m starting to come across all these videos of him and it’s hitting even harder every time, he passed away a day before the concert here in Michigan I was going to see them in concert less than 24 hours before he passed away.
I'm at a loss for words. Why do the best always die young? By far one of the biggest shocks in music history. By far one of the best vocalists the world will ever see. Rest in peace Chester. You will always be remembered as one miracle of a musician and a man. My thoughts are with your family, your friends and your bandmates. Rest in peace
Aris Koumbanakis ik I can't believe it's real :(
Aris Koumbanakis Chester was truly an amazing vocalist and an amazing person (except for a few bouts) I just don't understand why he would do this I understood that he was hurting but if I was him I would've at least tried to push through just with the knowledge of helping so many other people that were also hurting

:(
truth
Goku A fuckin' generation of pussies
If you're going to speak ill of Chester's death, then shut up. Have some respect for fans that drew inspiration from Linkin Park.
Fuckin' bands like Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Green Day always have overshadowed the real bands like Motorhead, Aerosmith, Deep Purple. Soundgarden, etc. True it's a sad way to go out. He's a human after all. But you gotta accept it their music was just generic
I miss him so much. I grew up listening to his voice. I cared about him as if we were friends. It's been over two years since he passed and I still can't listen to an entire LP song without getting teary. I think what hit me extra hard was how sudden it was, and to find out just how much he was hurting. Watching this I feel like I swallowed a rock. I hope you're in peace, Chester. Love you always.
I miss him too

I can’t believe it’s been 5 years 😞… RIP to a legend. And for everyone going through demons of their own, just keep pushing to the next day and don’t lose hope. Each new day brings new opportunities

Any Linkin Park Underground peeps out there?
RIP Chester, you were a big part of my childhood.
Yup. Been listening to LP since middle school so around maybe 2006ish. My math is probably waaaaay off, but its been a loong time.
Alexander Fetters yep, been around since about 2007 myself. Terribly sad to hear the passing of such a huge icon and the image of Linkin Park, Chester. Haven't really listened to the most recent album and the irony of the final album name and untimely death of his friend is an eye-opener and makes the passing even more difficult to deal with. I tried listening to songs like final masquerade acoustic and nearly broke up in tears... Love the song but the relevance of the lyrics for many of the songs to Chester is upsetting. R.I.P to the icon of my generation for rock music.
