Loving This! 🙌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
🚀
For a moment a thought I was listening to some lounge/slow jazz radio . Anyway, this an example that less is more. This shot is super elegant.
Hehe jazzy lounge stile. Thanks a lot man!
Great video Botvidsson!
And thank you for awesome content in general :-)
You're welcome, and thanks a lot for the support!
Great tutorial Botvidsson. You are a great teacher and very inspiring!
Love your videos, so funny, you make me laugh.
Keep up the good work and already looking forward to the next one
Thanks Mark, glad you like it!
I like you put yourself in the little old 'TV' look box at the upper left corner! I don't have helicon focus nor wacom but will put them in my wish list. I always feel I spend tons of time in post just for cleaning, good to hear PROs also spend time on it, no short cut... Good tutorial! Thank you for sharing!
Nope, no shortcuts :) Thanks a lot!
That looks sick!
Hehe. Martin's TV show!
Hi.
I've been watching your videos lately and wanted to say that "I JUST LOVE" your tutorials and wanted to thank you for sharing them.
A BIG THANK YOU! 😊
You are so welcome! Makes me so happy to hear that.
@@botvidsson You are just doing an amazing job and I get inspired with your work.
Thanks again.
you kept your word! I thank you very much for that and I hope that you will continue the series with retouching. Best regards
You're welcome Artur, and big thanks for the support.
I only have GIMP but still learned some good tips here that are applicable. Thanks Martin!
That's super great!
Great video, definitely giving me creative ideas for my next photography tutorial and photoshoot!👌
That's SO GREAT to hear. Thanks!
Awesome Awesome Work!!!
Thank you thank you!!!
amazing work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Great tutorial and for free, a big thanks man.
You're welcome! Thanks!
Great stuff thank you!
My pleasure!
that was impressive! thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Kicking ass as usual
Danke! 👽
You are amazing and very entertaining.
That is very kind of you to say! Thank you!
brighten the image to find the dust when retouching... i do it in every image ;) great tip !
That's the way to do it!
Very interesting !
Glad you think so!
This was beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I want to meet you and bring you coffee from Italy. But also wine!
Coffee and wine from Italy... well, you are welcome any time!! 😃
botvidsson please stay safe: when this virus will be over I wanna fly there and shoot with you!!! In the meanwhile...I am studying your videos and trying to learn. Practicing at home.
I just watched this video... at the end, I just noticed your left eye (right eye in this video) it's red... is it okay? And just a great tips for Photoshop tricks by the way. Thanks! Your fans from Indonesia!
Thanks, yes at the time I had some kind of eye infection. Now all fine.
Hey Martin, thank a lot for all your amazing content. It's always a pure joy to watch your creative process, be it in your studio or in Photoshop. Just don't forget to put the crown back in place since you opened it to stop the hands or your client won't be so happy :P Anyway, great job and nice little tricks! Greetings from Geneva
Thanks Michael for your kind words. Yes, I skipped the crown for this one, when working for clients I always put it back in. Some of the watch makers, Patek Phillipe for ex. they send pre-set hands so you never have to touch the crown. That's nice :)
That's like a dream client! Don't they also remove the glass on some pieces so there are no reflections above the dial?
Yes I heard about the crystal thing. that would be great.
Amazing
Thanks!
great man, please more video about retouching, you can make shot and retouch jewellery (ring or anything)
From now on I will make a retouching video for every tutorial-video I release... I hope 😬
is good idea
nice tutorial Sir btw 13:35 regarding the reflection you can also used brush then mode: color alt/option to sample specific color then apply to the specific area. just my opinion/experience case to case basis.
Great!
Great video, Martin!
I got a question, why do you prefer Helicon Focus for post-pro stacking instead of one built-in Photoshop?
Sometimes Helicon is better and sometimes Photoshop. I just start with Helicon cuz it's faster and most of the time... I get a better result.
@@botvidsson thanks for your kind reply! Please keep doing what you do!
Just selected both photos on LR and click on (Open as Layers in PS) is faster instead of opening two diff projects
Yes. Normally I do it that way. Thanks for the tip for the sub’s.
Hello, is focus stacking that much sharper then say shootings at f16 once and then at f1.4 and compositing what you want sharp and blurry?
Short answer - Yes!
its me again the little swiss :) is there a reason to absolutely get Helicon Focus or it PS ok for doing most of the jobs ?
My experience is that Helicon works every time, especially now when I "built" myself a focus stacking slider rig 😀 It's a motorized camera slider that I program so the slider moves extremely slowly and during the move I take the photos. Very precise and perfect every time, I have to make a video for you guys on this great way to focus stack. 😀
The other manual way, changing the focus on the lens, also works of course.(Like in this video)
Photoshop can, from time to time, screw up the stacking. Very annoying. I'm pretty sure Photoshop would fail on this photo when I needed to get so big area in focus.
I should really do a focus stacking test with the slider, both Helicon and Photoshop... so many things to do, so little time 😡
@@botvidsson i know the focus staking slider system... never used is but actually i only made my very first product shot (the gin bottle on the bottom)... to be seen on www.faridlaid.com/new-page-85/ but only 3 layers fokus stacking... but i see the points then with i guess over 40 positions it might get a lot of work for adobe... by the way...i made myself a glas fiber flash system oit of second hand doctors head light cables attached to my SB 910 (nikon) i used it for a small light on the "Falcon but also on the top Sticker of the Bottle and a third one on the ice cubes... works really well . 8mm or 6mm NYLON strings should also do the job ...EBAY next :)
@@argentum_on_glass Great work, fantastic photos! Yes, to smash 40 Hasselblad images into Photoshop for stacking... it will take a while 😄
Tjena, Martin ! Fokus-stacka 43 bilder ... oh, sorry .. INTERNATIONAL - of course ... My bad ...
Focus stacking 43 images in Photoshop..? What a nightmare ! Helicon Focus did a much better job, indeed. Hmm - didn't know about that one. Stylus ? Absolutely ! Still on an Intous 3, A5. Bought when Wacom launched it and still working perfectly. That's quality for ya'. History ..? Nah - you don't wanna know I'm retired and picked up photography ... again. Nothing on your level what so ever. Just sort of experimenting with some stuff. But you can definitely pick up some interesting thoughts on product photography and lighting from your videos. Very interesting indeed.
Subed ? Of course I did ! Laters and Lume Blue to you ! (Actually - those are quite beautyful words, really ... Lume Blue .. a bit like Elbow .. ) ;)
Svenska funkar ju fint också :)
I also have the Intous 3, works perfectly, don't know why I updated really. Thanks for the sub, really happy you can pick up some stuff from my chaotic video tutorials. Tack o bock!
Japp - Swedish works fine but looking at the other comments - I doubt they understand our strange lingo. Chaotic ? Not at all. Just another day at the office. Perfectly normal.
You know ... using a drill to create ripples, throwing a bunch of flowers in the frying pan to create sand, putting a "tjo-flöjt" to good use ... I can relate to that ! :)
Speeding up 1,25 helps
always
The videos are great. It might be just me but that background audio loop gets old real quick. While I was watching, I thought it was the neighbors playing some crap at first but realized it was in the vid. For some reason my ears won't let me not hear the background. :/
Haha, the neighbours! Great! You are probably right, I tried to put it at a very very low volume. It's always hard to know if I should put in background music or not, maybe I should choose a more discreet track, and also many different ones or none... I don't know. We'll see on the next video. Thanks for the feedback.
One suggestion would be to use a much much longer loop (if it's a loop). But even without music, I'm sure the videos would still be great.
Since you love coffee (like me) maybe you could put "Black Coffee" by Black Flag in one... just kidding - a bit much for these vids, haha.
