Most guys dont even know it but the king of pro mod racing has a car in this video. Scotty Cannon is tuning on the PAR racing engines firebird with Allan Pittman driving. They laid down a 3.801 at the 35:00 mark. Pretty impressive considering he isn't really in the game anymore with a 10 year old engine named BAM
That Malibu turbo car has been around a long time and for that car to crack off a 3.62 @ 214 .. Mark was wheeling that bitch ... Mr I can do know wrong Stevey Fast got his Jaw bone checked as well and left licking his Womb but at least he didn't go away mad ..He just went away ..
bryan chapman listen I love the cars, but let’s not kid ourselves about stock suspension stuff! Tubular front ends aren’t stock. Just because there in stock locating points just means the wheelbase isn’t altered. I have a low 9 high 8 sec duster with STOCK suspension meaning factory control arms k frame and strut rods and factory disc brakes!
32:30 The reason why you use TWO wheelie bars. I know all these guys love dropping weight to a single bar but it just isn't as safe. Another dude did a one wheel dance earlier too.
wheelie bars on radials arent good anyways. they just unload the radials and send people into walls. slicks wouldnt do that. i miss ODR vs true 10.5 thats how this class even started then guys with old pro mods had nowhere to go and well, here we are!!
Radials stick so damn good though. I agree that you don't have the bounce back of slicks but you can see A LOT of cars with front left tires, both fronts or some serious wheelies necessitating the drivers to shut down. I mean that one black car folded his unibar like a tin can with the stick he had going on because the car was so back heavy. I'm glad I don't race radial because to me it's kind of a cheat. Having to figure out slicks is like 1/5th of the racing game. Those radial tire cars were fighting every round over 100s of a second because their radials made them so damn much the same. You have to seriously mess up to bust radials loose if you know what you're doing.
Chris Harris tracks have to be extra sticky for radials because it’s a harder compound slicks you don’t need as much prep so no radials don’t stick better than slicks but they are faster
