I’m 21 years old from Runcorn and I’m glad that my dad guided me to this part of music. He’s not long passed this song will always remind me of him !❤ LOVE YOU JAY !!
Basically what happened, they were a electronic band, their studio burnt down and they had to start from scratch, alwaus been talented @karlmeadows4986
1991... i was working a yts... this tune was on sunset 102 every Saturday before I went to Hippos in Middleton... this band ended up as the doves... a belting band
This is one of my all time favourite tunes. I was lucky enough to have owned the white label of this tune, but then stupidly took it to a house party, where it disapeered. Thankfully many years later My wonderful wife bought me a clean repressing. Just a mesmerising piece of genius
Yeah it’s a very special tune. I’d never heard this track until I found a random white label that had been used as a special table at my mate’s house party…..😮
Love this tune so much, good memories. Thanks for taking the time to process this, i know that is time consuming. Sadly my vinyl copy of this has long since walked away, but happy now because this is the cleanest version i have heard out there by far :-)
I'd forgotten about this track. Something in my head, tonight, made me say - "its full of stars". I was blasted back to the 90's for a mo, then went on the hunt to find the track! And OMG - its definitly full of stars! :D
You’re the real MVP. What a tune. I've had 3 copies of this, they've all crackled, esp. at the start. There was a slightly different version on an original pressing (think promo), bit rawer, but this version was more professionally mastered. Many thanks for the clean up job
@@therealtigerjones : Please, please still keep on keeping on. You’re making a lot of middle aged lads and lasses feel like they’re in their teens - early 20’s again. It’s a Saturday night in August 2022. 30 years ago I’d have been on my way into Sheffield city centre to go the Jam Factory at The Palais, or TechnoCity at Occasions, a gram of pink champagne and a Dove in my pockets. Taking a trip back down memory lane with some awesome tunes is almost good enough for now.
I only found out today this act and track... They would eventually be The Doves, who would later be support for Oasis ( My first gig and The doves played first loved the band from then on ). This however is superb I would of never of known they were a house music producers...wicked track, gonna venture into more of his great music
I just dug mine out and it has a slight warp on it and looks like i didnt treat with the respect it deserved back in the day all the more gutting when you see what it would cost to replace
@@GrimUpNorth_yt Interesting, so did I (Harefield then WCH). And I knew them back then.....I moved away but I still have friends who know Andy, Jez and Jimmy (Doves).
I still have my copy of this on vinyl (pink label copy, white sleeve) stored at my parent's place, and remember it did have a slight distortion on the vinyl...Must have been a pressing issue.
I heard the version on the Back To Mine compilation, but if my memory serves me correctly, it too was taken from vinyl. I had someone recently tell me that there's a full length copy that they believe was taken from a master tape source or a damn near perfect vinyl. The compilation's called "Manchester North Of England - A Story Of Independent Music Greater Manchester 1977 - 1993". Here's a Discogs link to it: www.discogs.com/Various-Manchester-North-Of-England-A-Story-Of-Independent-Music-Greater-Manchester-1977-1993/master/1224396

Saw them play it in Hull. Somehow sounds like an evolution of the song when it's live!
Glastonbury was absolutely brilliant 👍

My 12 inch is a prized possession. This is an all time classic. Better than the remixes, too. Raw, funky, space music!

Doves. Not the doves.
The lads used to sell swag at the concerts and were involved with the sweat it out rave lads in Manchester
sub sub first song turns out to be the best thing Doves did. 😏 Cool pic too, Doves did a session at Jodrell Bank.
I also had a copy that skipped at the same point as a friends did. Then got a clean copy. Maybe a bad batch got out...
Huddle Sheffield : This tune in Occasions on a Friday, or The Palais on a Saturday. How I wish I could re-live those times again.
