I don’t know if working with lemons will ever see this but this video literally changed my life. My parents went to New York in 2017 and saw Hamilton and I was like “I have no idea what that is so I’ll look it up” and I became OBSESSED. I then went on to be obsessed with other musicals. I had always struggled with putting myself on stage so I didn’t get around to actually doing theatre to this summer. I had struggled socially for a long, long time, but I’m onstage this year and I have met the best people. I have found a home and I’ve found joy. You saved my life.
The actors in this are perfect for their roles in this cover, and everyone sings so well! I know I’m 5 years late but I watched this a lot when I was younger and just discovering the musical. 😊
Just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to the world of Hamilton and broadway with this vid. When I first watched this I didn’t know this existed at all, but last year in 2023 i got to watch Hamilton live and that was an experience i’ll never forget. Thank you.
For two solid years this video was the only way to get my little cousin to sleep. Their voices managed to calm her down enough to sleep. It was always really sweet her asking for this video because and I quote “it makes me (her) happy”

I am happy that comments to this video have been restored. I probably have watched this video over a hundred times over the last few years. I find it very inspirational. I've recently seen the Disney+ recording of the live stage production of Hamilton, but I like this one (I'll call it the Lemons version) better. I find the outdoor setting in the Lemons version to be much more pleasant than seeing the Disney+ version on stage. I also appreciate the costumes of the female extras in the Lemon version to be much nicer (much more modest) than the costumes on the Disney+ recording. I've gotten to enjoy seeing the Aaron Burr in the Lemon version with his strong smile. I recall that in the Disney+ version Leslie Odom didn't do that (and I personally missed it). Starting at 21 seconds when the three sisters first appear the first camera angle has us looking up at them from the ground. I like that grand entrance, and I was missing it in the Disney+ version. I enjoy seeing the sisters' dance spin starting at 2:24, and noticing that whoever is holding the camera must be running around them too (it must have been hard to do without colliding with them or dropping the equipment!) And I also think that it's really neat that the Lemon sisters are sisters in real life. Whereas with the Disney+ version the sisters don't like alike. I don't want to offend the cast of the Disney+ version in any way. I think that it's safe to assume that they'll never read these comments of mine, but just to be safe ... the Broadway production was done in a different situation and I understand that they are probably at the top of their profession. But it's merely my opinion that I enjoy the Lemons version better. Certainly, Lin-Manuel Miranda's choice of topic and his writing is excellent. Thank you for making this available! I've just given it my thumbs up, just like 194k other people (yeah ... I know that I should've done that earlier)
As an aside .... Since comments for Working with Lemons' "Wait for It" are still turned off, I want to make a comment about it. Aaron Burr makes a brief comment that his grandfather was a "fire and brimstone preacher." Seeing that comment recently in the Disney+ movie (and again from Working With Lemons) reminded me of the "Wow" moment when I learned that Aaron Burr's maternal grandfather was Jonathan Edwards ... two people that I learned about separately in high school. I think that I first learned that they were close family in Ron Chernow's book on Hamilton, which inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda to write about them.
