    Thanks for this video, I just bought a 2014 F6B three weeks ago and need to change the oil soon, it's nice to see that it is as easy as doing an oil change on my Vulcan 1600 Classic.
    BTW, I see that you also have a Corbin leather seat on your F6B, I plan on buying one for my F6B, probably buy it as a Christmas present and have it installed for next year's riding season. I HATED the OEM seat on my Vulcan 1600 and after suffering on it for the first five years I invested in a Corbin heated touring saddle...........BEST investment ever!!!
    I can't believe how great this F6B is, so comfortable, effortless power too, blows away any other bike that I've ridden.

      Yeah, the F6B is a great bike. Glad the video helps. I never could get used to the corbin seat. Always needed to use an air hawk. Ended up getting it customized at Rich's Custom motorcycle Seats. I made a couple videos on the customized seat.

      @@bgrides2108 I was a bit nervous that I wouldn't like the Corbin since I read some complaints about the seats being "as hard as sitting on a 2x4" but luckily for me that wasn't the case. Yeah it's not a big plushy seat but firm in a good way, I couldn't be any happier but I'm glad that you got your seat sorted out to the way that you like it.

    I think you got the same seat I got! I got black rattlesnake and gray lizard welt! You still riding??? Just put new rubber on mine this spring… Cost me 40 apiece to have them mounted got tires at wing stuff!!!!!

    • @bgrides2108
      @bgrides2108  2 роки тому

      Hi samz1069, Yeah, still riding. I ended up having a custom seat done at a local place. They stripped the Corbin and rebuilt it to fit my riding posture. Had it diamond stitched. Looks great. I made a video showing the new custom seat also. $40 a piece for mounting and such sounds like a good deal. Thanks for watching

    Is there nothing underneath that you have to remove to access the oil pan?

    • @bgrides2108
      @bgrides2108  Рік тому +2

      Hi Hollywood, Not on this bike. I think the way this bike is is the normal setup. You shouldn't need to remove anything to get to the plug or oil filter...

    Interesting, i've never heard of anyone ever filling the oil filter with oil prior to installing it. kinda seems like a wasted step & for me, just another chance to spill oil. Whats the reason for it? Thanks, & great video!

    • @bgrides2108
      @bgrides2108  5 років тому +1

      Hey Cracker, I guess the idea behind it is the engine gets fresh oil quicker. I saw this step in another video and it looked like a good idea. It probably is overkill. Installing the filter without filling with oil works fine.

    • @CaptHollister
      @CaptHollister 4 роки тому +2

      It's based on the old belief that otherwise your engine will be dry of oil when you first start it after the oil change. Of course the reality is that there is no such thing as a "dry" start unless you just rebuilt the engine without using assembly lube, so it's a harmless, but unnecessary step.

    Can you change the oil without putting it on its center stand?

    • @bgrides2108
      @bgrides2108  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Leo, Sure. Some bikes don't have the center stand. It's worth checking the manual to see if anything in the process is different. It's probably the same, but I'm not sure. Thanks for watching!

    What made you go with the Motul 300V over Motul 5100 or Motul 7100.

    • @bgrides2108
      @bgrides2108  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Brandon The Hut, I've been using Motul 7100 10W40 for the last four oil changes now. It seems like the bike shifts a little smoother, runs smooth and cool. We just finished an 8 day ride with temps up to 104 and the bike ran cool. I'll probably stick with the 7100 for a while. It's a little pricey but seems to work well.

    • @MegaBgibbs
      @MegaBgibbs 4 роки тому +1

      @@bgrides2108 I was going to go with the Motul 7100 also. I'm just nervous that it's 10W 40 because they don't make a 10w 30. It's kinda making me lean toward Amsoil 10w 30. Have you had any issues at all?

    • @bgrides2108
      @bgrides2108  4 роки тому +1

      @@MegaBgibbs No problems at all so far. I tried the Amsoil 10w30 also. I felt the Motul seemed to help shift a little better. You should give the Amsoil a shot if your leaning that way. From watching some Amsoil youtube vids, it seems to be a really good oil.
