You're not using a hairdryer or anything to melt it into the fabric? Or running it in with anything? Just coating it and letting it sit?

Or do they have to be from sports shops like Underarmour or something?

Hi - Any black denim jeans will do the trick - if you are building your own Kylo Ren costume go for regular fit jeans over skinny.

Can i use candle wax or parrafine bar?

I would strongly suggest Otterwax, its a little pricey but gets you the best results
