Every time I watch your tutorials, there's always a new thing to learn such as the frame rate top right feature! I haven't seen any other channel on this subject provide such indepth and insightful nuggets of information as this one. Thank you for all your efforts in making these.
I love your videos and learn so much. And when I learn something new, it's like I get ideas right away for additional ways I might use that tip. It's making iMovie so satisfying for me.
Thank you for the great tips. I am not clear on how to edit the audio in a clip. Its clear to me when adding a sound effect or music but not in the timeline of the original. What if I want to turn the audio down for a few seconds or cut a few words out? Thanks for info!
These are Awesome Tricks! Thank you so much! I feel like I'm always struggling to figure out how to edit my videos into just what I want and so many times I have turned to your videos to find the answers.
Hi Michael. Just wanted to add my appreciation too like all the other commentators. Your video tutorials are just brilliant. I'm quite new to iMovie and your videos are so helpful. Thank you for taking the time.
That was absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much, just learning about the j,k,l shortcuts alone was soooo valuable. Plus the trick with Keynote was really useful. Thanks again 😁
yet another great video, after making videos in iMovie for several years I have learn something new :) btw looking forward to see more content about GarageBand
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! You keep coming with just the tips I need. Awesome. Thanks to you my editing gets better and quicker and makes my life easier. Now I am searching trough your video's about topics I forgot about, like where is the video where you explain how to retreive the video's when you moved them to another library and they look black in te project as well as the library.....?
My problem is solved, but it remains a mistery to me what happened and why. Maybe you do know? I did not move the files on the harddrive nor did I disconnect any device. I did move the clips to other libraries and events. However these events and libraries I kept open. I saved the edited project and closed Imovie (when it still was working fine). But when I opened Imovie again, the project clips in the events and the clips in the different libraries were completely black. Not the film image in it like you see when you disconnect a hard drive. Retreive all clips in projectmedia was not allowed, because it could not find the files. But to find a clip in projectmedia did work, only that clip was still black. After manually moving the clips back into the same libraries and same events (copying them directly over it) suddenly it all came back to live. The video played again and the clips were all back in full color and moving, also the cutting and editing was still ok. Do you have a clue?
hello! if I import a video in iMovie I can then delete it from the computer (meaning from the downloads folder), right? Cause it's already been copied in iMovie at the maximum quality and it's no longer useful to keep it. ??
Hello sir can u please explain how this greenscreen trick if we paste the greenscreen clip in overlay section the entire screen will be selected what if we want to a particular face or something to be only in greenscreen
"Bracket key" is not the one above "coma" symbol. The key you refer to be used to adjust the audio is called "less than" symbol. "Left bracket" key is on the right side of P letter key. Thanks for the video, useful indeed.
Often we find videos that tell us how to do things we will not use in a month of Sundays. This video is not one of those. Its cores high in once again uncovering things of value, that anyone with a video channel is more likely to use at some time or or other to cut down editing time, to improve sound balance in particular, and perhaps make a trailer
Hi, Because of your thumbnail I didn't click your video yesterday thinking it is someone else's post. The same happened last time too... Please put your self in the thumbnail or at least put a small picture of yourself. I regularly watch your videos and have learnt a lot from your channel. You are loosing thousands of views because of these thumbnails. Your face has more brand value than your channel name. On a small mobile screen one tends to click the thumbnail rather than seeing the channel name.
I particularly loved the trick that allows you to copy various adjustments from a track, and paste them to one or more others. Thank you for your information which is always very clear and without confusion. A problem has just appeared and I find it strange. Thanks to other explanations that you gave on the fact that we can record videos above HD. Including 4k. I don't know about higher, but for the moment, my 10.4 version no longer wants to output a video above 1080p (HD). I posted a short video that I was putting together. I had just taken it out of Keynote, in 2560 × 1440p format and at 60fps. iMovie gives me no choice. I have to output it in 1080p at 60fps. Yet I follow the recommendation. Because I open a new Video folder to drag my video into it, so that it remains this size, but it no longer works. What should I do? 😲
I'm assuming iMovie doesn't read 2560x1440p as 4K, so it will revert to 1080p. Don't think there's anything in between in iMovie. Try adding a 4K clip to the timeline, first. Then add your 1440p clip. Then delete first clip (4K). Then open Settings on the right of the timeline and see what the resolution is set to.
Great tips, thank you! You make iMovie much more comfortable for users.
Regards from Germany.
I've been using iMovie for 9 years and still learning from you, thank you!

My bad. Thanks for the clarification. They actually register as the comma and period keys, which I tried to correct with the on-screen text.
how do i get the clips to not interrupt my voiceover tho lol (for trick #2)
Nice!!
Hi is it possible to alter the duration of photos in the time line in the same way video clips can be altered
Your channel is first class
Thanks! I would imagine it's possible.
