- Kiango might be the only baby in this group, but he sure has playmates in Apenheul. The mangabeys Moto and Mojo are even as big as Kiango. Which makes them lovely playmates. As you can see in this video, Kiango loves to see the reaction of the mangabeys. When Mail Moto is joining Kiango get's a bit anxious and goes to his om. It is nice to see how the group works and how mom Gyasi only has to stand up and it's enough to signal the mangabeys. I hope you'll enjoy seeing these little ones play together! I sure did ;)

Kiango is very brave... The adult monkey understand Kiango is still a baby gorilla but in seize as great as she herself is. They know all it's a game. The two mama's are aware and always in standby to protect their children. This playfull interaction is nice to watch and very pleasant to see in her enrollment.
So adorable, both mother's protecting their children.

That belly fat you see is pure muscle actually. It’s literally a barrel of muscle.
This was so hysterical! He runs so fast for a little guy, that it almost looked like it was sped up. I love how the mangabeys respect Mom and keep an eye on her body signals! Just too cute!♥️♥️♥️

MOJO and Moto are helping Kiango perfect her walking skills. She walks many steps while playing without even thinking about it. Thank you Lieke. They were having a lot of fun.

🇨🇦 Gotta love how momma is right there to protect her baby. I love Gorillas and how attentive they are to their babies. Alot of the same qualities as humans. Such a majestic beautiful animal. So sweet to see this baby playing with the monkeys. Momma was fine with the little baby monkey playing but as soon as the older monkey got involved momma was on guard! 🦍🦍❤️❤️❤️

Oh I love that I love how he tries to hit like this monkey and he hits like a girl he just flings his arms around like hitting in air and in space not even coming closely cracks me up

Oh my, that was too cute! Kiango has the cutest little wiggle when she walks, and she is a chunky little monkey (gorilla.) So nice to see Mom watching, but allowing her baby to learn without her interference. Kiango will grow up to be secure and confident. What a lovely, natural setting for these beautiful creatures to live, grow, and thrive in. 💕🇨🇦

Awe that sweet baby was having so much fun. It was hilarious watching it run down hill from mom. Like it was saying no no I want to play with my friends, you can’t catch me. Lol I really enjoyed watching this precious precious baby play.
What a great encounter to watch. Playing, setting boundaries, but all without aggression. Wouldn't it be nice if we humans would live like that too. With respect.

Gyasi does a good job of refereeing with Kiango and the mangabeys. The little guy really has gorgeous fur! Gyasi does too, beautiful silver fur on her back.
Haha. The mangabeys assert themselves and Gyasi rears back although power wise she is much larger Beautiful animals know how to read each other’s cues and live safely and happily together ♥️🐒🦍♥️

I find it amazing how they teach, look after and love their young with no words yet they instinctively know and we know what their thought processes probably are based on their actions and facial expressions, beautiful animals.

Lovely video and such a fun video! Looks like Gyasi is a much better and attentive mom to Kiango than she was to her first born Tayari. I love that they have a lot of room and mental/physical stimulation at Apenheul. I feel bad for Iriki and Tayari at Taipei coming from Apenheul to Taipei. Taipei does a good job though with the resources they have. I always appreciate how upbeat and positive your videos are, Lieke.

It is a big adjustment going from Apenheul to Taipei. But luckily they got the chance to be a mom and thats a wonderful enrichment too (the babies). Apenheul is a beautiful place to be for gorilla's indeed, I think we would want all gorilla's to have such a big island as in Apenheul ;).

This is precious. The baby gorilla is probably much stronger than the little monkeys, but so nice they can play together.
I didn't think that parents of baby gorillas would allow any other different primate to play with their young. I've never seen that, until now.
