Look what they did at Tianas Bayou Adventure! | Disneyland Construction 05-03-2024

- Incredible progress this week from Tianas Bayou Adventure, and in more ways than one. Foliage, demo, and even something I was NOT EXPECTING to find in the flume tracks. New developments also at Haunted Mansion, scrim and scaffold are down at City Hall, surprising developments at Earl of Sandwich and a surprise featuring Big Al?

Your comment about the tiny tacos reminded me of a DCA trip I took a couple of weeks ago. I always stop by the Ghirardelli's Chocolate Shop and get one of their amazing shakes. This time I ordered a Caramel Crunch Shake and was astounded to see that it had shrunk by about 50%! They charged me $13+ and gave me the shake in a glorified Dixie Cup! I was so taken aback by the tiny size that I handed it back to her and said "This is ridiculously tiny. You can keep it as it seems like you guys need it more than me." And I then proceeded to walk out the door. No more shakes for me as they have turned into "shakedowns" instead. I know it's not the Cast Member's fault BUT there has to be an exchange of value for what I'm getting for my hard-earned money. If Dairy Queen can give me a HUGE shake for $7.00 (still pricy, I know) then Disney can give me at least the same sized product for the outlandish price they charge (double the price of Dairy Queen). I now stop at Denny's before entering the resort. I'm not paying $13 for a shake that's served in a cup so small that it is better suited for water coolers than commercial distribution.
Stop, you’re making me drool! 🤤
Once again, gotta thank the man for making my lunch break good 😂
LOL I totally watch these during my lunch break as well!
The "wings" on the How to Train Your Dragon coaster are safety nets. Universal has had a lot of issues in the past with guests dropping shoes, cellphones, and keys while on a coaster. The nets are there to catch them and direct them to a catchment system so that they don't fall onto guests walking below.
The big Al statue really had me and lots thinking about country bears at grizzly peak. I watched OG55 and he stated the animatronics at WDW were getting retrofitted with brand new technology and animatronics, talking bout how disney likes to buy in bulk and usualy buys sets of 2 so im like really hoping they plan country bears to return with the new show they are making rn. I wouldn't mind it going in Redwood Creeks land
Country Bears was a fave of mine! I had 3 little kids at Disneyland It was a good place to stop and rest also cool down.
By now you have learned Big Al actually talks if you have a magic band+
That would be so amazing, Grizzly River Run was built on a budget in the Eisner days and I would love to see it be updated. While it’s an enjoyable ride, it really could be plussed with something like country bears to add more substance to a slightly empty ride
This is a great idea!
I think The Country Bears AA's should be placed in Grizzly River Run.
It looks like a line of fake grass blades, rolled up . They can very easily cut them apart and install as they see fit.
Yaaa! That’s what I was thinking it looks like a fake plant on its back that’s not installed yet
I was thinking it’s maybe a hollow grass thing that goes over that electrical area that’s not done yet and it gets turned vertical and goes over that electrical thing. Maybe a light goes in it.
We better be getting a Fresh Baked road trip to Epic Universe as soon as they open.
Thank you for the update David. Keep doing what you're doing! You are a bright light on a gloomy day. I sit here working over a hot keyboard and usually have your videos playing on my 2nd monitor. How can I have a bad day when you're getting excited about a brick veneer refresh?! Fresh Baked! 🙂
The green grass looks to be a Speaker Cover
That copper thing at Tiana’s is flashing for the valley of the roof. That ceviche looks more like shrimp cocktail
Dark Universe at Universal Epic Universe Is Opening Next year so get Hyped for it Frest Baked 🇺🇸
PLEASE do a video finding all the pizza planet trucks! I'm dying to know!
❤ The Accordion Pizza Planet Truck is my favorite so far! 2nd Fav is the 'hunk of space junk' one hidden in the netting outside the Galaxy's Edge Store in the Ex-Rainforest Café building!
The Yellow Bell Pepper bush is fun, but the Purple Bell Pepper bush was what ruffled my kilt! I'm seeing evidence everywhere that Disney is speeding up their construction progress! I think they have kicked all projects into ASAP mode! And it does look like the installation crews are leaving WDW and moving to Disneyland's Tiana's Salt Dome! Which is hurrying up the process here!
Disneyland City Hall doesn't look repainted it looks brand new!
Ah yes, broccoli mountain is finally coming along.
Man shut the hell up 😂
Lol
Everything is subject to entropy and decay. True true, i am feeling it today
Finally epic universe, thank you so much 😊
Classy shoutout to Theme Park Stop. I have been watching them for many months at this point to stay updated on Epic Universe. This is my Disneyland show :)
As I understand it, Big Al has a MagicBand experience. Tap your band to the front of his guitar. On the Kong coaster, the track appears to be vertical so the train will ride on a bogey that is extended perpendicular to the vehicle.
16:11 I want to say that they might be planning a Country Bear Vacation Hoedown retheme to Grizzly River Run? But better, possibly a new Country Bear attraction replacing Redwood Creek? There was the “West Coast HQ” Easter Egg from the first episode of the new imagineering UA-cam, and Grizzly Peak would be perfect for that!
Would be good to see animatronics on GRR just like they added animatronics to turn Bigfoot Rapids into Calico Rapids at Knott’s Berry farm!
the box is a shoring box the prevents the wall from caving in when you are in a hole
I have a feeling Tianas is also going to open sometime in the summer, towards the later months
I'm sorry, I'm from Louisiana, and that looks nothing like a bayou... not that bayous have mountains. Or hills. And I was so disappointed to find out they will not be using Tiana in her princess form or the Shadow man in the ride... he is one of the best villains (and face characters) out there!
I think thing is, TBA takes place AFTER the events of the movie. They acknowledge in some ways that Ray isn't with us anymore, at least physically, which means Facillier would be dead as well. I'm not sure if they still have him walking around, but if they do, it completely ruins the time line of the ride. BUT if they get rid of him, they're getting rid of easily one of their best face character greeters. It's damned if you do, damned if you don't.
@@2doot yeah, I get it, I just think they should have stuck to telling the story in the movie like most other rides. That's what most people want to see. Making the "princess" a business owner in a princess ride seems silly.
It’s good to see big Al again. It’s like seeing an old friend from a childhood.
I like Big Al. The guy in the costume playfully grabbed me and my twin brother from behind with each arm when we were little kids, we laughed and squealed in delight while our dad took a picture.
Lots of saw cuts in that concrete in Critter Country. They are doing demolition on the whole pathway. All that white stuff is concrete dust.
Orange mesh is snow fencing -fall proofing protection. Keep workers away from the edge. 😂
I wish I had the enthusiasm you have for construction sites, for my US environmental literature finals. You are so excited and hyped, gimme some. It's due by midnight tomorrow.
Donkey Kong looks amazing. I need to pull out my snes 🐒
That’s outrageous for 14$ 3 tacos!!
FreshBaked. David, nice to see "City Hall" back all spick and span. The large flower at 3:56 in the video is a "Sunflower." It's interesting to see the different building technique's. These day's all the wall framing is steel. When Disneyland was built the framing was all wood. "Big Al," now that's a nice surprise we could do with more "Country Bear's" around Grizzly Peak. I'm sure I heard Melvin the moose say," Y'all come out and live a little, hear"! Cheers, Chris Perry.
Guessing they’re now working on scenes INSIDE and sounds with logs and timing. We’ll see logs coming over the hill real soon.
Have you seen the new rides at Disney in Japan? Frozen, Tangled and Beauty and the Beast. Wow! Now, those are what Walt would have given us.
Watch out for testing boats in the drop flume and returning up the ilft hill. 4:54
It's a Grass Crown for a character.
It’s the bottom of a plant that’s laying on its side :)
This ride is going to smell awesome
@27:39 "The Disneyland Railroad.... at Magic Kingdom" 😂
My family and I were there when you were filming in Downtown Disney. You were so nice in person and thanks for the selfie with you. We love your content and the videos you produce.
I feel like with the space and length of the attraction, Tiana’s is going to be WAY better in DL. It’s going to flow very nicely I predict
A few added details on Epic Universe: the "tent" show at Harry Potter will happen in a building. That tent is simply the entrance. It "grows" when you enter it like the tents in HP4 at the Quidditch World Cup. The Donkey Kong coaster launch will jump the large water fall where the golden track is. You can see it in the video. Finally, those are paths under the coaster. It is part of Celestial Gardens. Love these combined Disney/Universal updates! Keep em coming!!!
The “wings” on the Dragon coaster act as netting for added protection for areas where the tracks interact over guest pathways but the stylized version is to simulate more of a handmade contraption hence the storyline of the ride. (Hiccup builds a contraption to simulate dragon flight but hiccup, the dragon, starts the ride before it is finished hence the low to the ground water interaction with the netting.
The copper I believe is a valley pan. Basically where all the shingles lead water to and then of course it is diverted downward.
I love how many coasters there are at Epic Universe.
36:52 they arent wings, theyre safety nets to protect guests below from loose items falling dowm
The Pinkish orange Roses are the patented Disney Roses in magnolia park area. Maybe started in a greenhouse. 16:32
Broccoli Mountain.
It means Porto’s is reneging on building…so NO hurry to build the new Earls
Epcot will only look nice for a single week. After that walls are supposed to go back up for the Test Track retheme.
We are from Canada and plan all our trips around your very informative videos, 😊
Same here
3:16 My guess is that's a fake plant to cover a speaker or some other equipment, just kind of moved aside while they work on whatever it's usually hiding.
FRESHBAKED is DISNEYLAND
I knew that those tacos would be underwhelming for the price. The little taqueria Sabrosada on the corner of Katella and Harbor has served me well on numerous occasions.
I really like Tortilla Joe's and LA Brea Bakery, but apparently they were not bringing in the revenue. DTD is getting damn expensive to eat at. Pretty sad when Naples is the best value.
Thank you!
Now to bring the Egg House back to town square we need a breakfast location for entry. They have been and are maintaining the fire extinguishers on the show grille which is the cashier station and vent hood. 19:46
excited every Monday for these! thank you for your hard work!!
If I had to guess, I'd say that anomaly on Tiana's is a piece of decoration sitting on its side. Something that hasn't been sat upright and installed just yet for some reason. Some fake grass cover for something, an upside-down hula skirt to cover some lighting or speakers? That's what I think. Either way, thanks for the update David! You deserve all the churros for all your hard work! Keep it up
Tiana's should be opening soon at WDW. Confirmation that it will be open during Mickey's Halloween Party (early/mid August) was just announced by Disney today, so I'm expecting a late June, early/mid July opening date. Very exciting. Looks like they're making some good progress over in DLR too. Thanks for the update!
3:44 that guy is standing on the waterfall, the copper on the left is to protect the roof from any overflow.
What a phenomenal update Fresh Baked. Gosh dang do I love seeing Big Al at that DVC stand. Brings me joy. Tiana’s is looking great and so is Epic! Thanks again. Fresh Baked!!
Magnolias are a flowering tree. 2:29
I’m looking forward to seeing it when it opens!
Word on the street (from several Disney sources) is that Porto's has cancelled their plans to build a new restaurant in Downtown Disney, in the location formerly occupied by La Brea Bakery and currently (albeit temporarily) occupied by Earl of Sandwich. Rumor has it that Porto's was unwilling to alter their policy of closing on major holidays and the new location would have been shuttered on Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.. Why this is only coming to the surface now is anyone's guess as a major restaurant shut down right on the Esplanade on those busiest and most popular of days would have seemed to be a non-starter form the get-go.
This certainly puts the future location of Earl of Sandwich in question and might explain why the EOS temporary trailer is still sitting as an empty shell. It also raises the question: will EOS still move to the other end of DTD and leave their current location empty in such a conspicuous spot with no potential tenant front and center on the Esplanade? Construction hasn't started on the new building at the west end of DTD, so there's still time to leave it as an empty shell for a future tenant and allow EOS to stay on the Esplanade, but who knows.
I was actually looking at Tiendita yesterday. I'm not glad I didn't get food from there. Earls is always my fallback when it comes DTD food.
Copper flashing- roofing material used in roof valleys. Copper is a very expensive option (can be done with tar paper flashing) copper is prettier and the patina over time is even more attractive
“What is that?” I believe it’s one of the artificial plants that has yet to be installed.
Thank you for these updates. i love watching, and can't wait to take my girlfriend and her 2 kids one day to Disneyland with all these awesome changes. Been going every other year with my family since i was 6 months old. I haven't been in 3 years and these updates give me such a good feeling like i get when i go. You, Provost, and Ordinary Adventures are the best.
Mark 6:10 saw cut concrete and break it up and replace it You can see crack in the concrete close to the train
So, what if Big Al is like the Avengers emblem that showed before Avengers Campus was officially announced? You know Disney, they like to build attractions in two. They are in the middle of a major CBJ refurbishment at Magic Kingdom. What if they want to add TCBJ to the Grizzly Peak area? Or add CBJ theming to Grizzly Peak?
I think you got the "C" and "B" mixed up.
@@KentaroMiyamoto21 - I sure did!! Thanks for pointing it out! I fixed it so people can better follow what I am talking about.
much respect to the workers being on the Scaffolds to work on Tianas Bayou.......at my old job as a custodian at a School site I've been on a Scaffold to change light bulbs on the Ceiling in the Lunch room and I was scared to death being on it...............I do wonder how much longer they are working on the outside of the mountain and finish it........I'm guessing once they go inside to work on and put up the Audio-Animatronics we will not have updates no cameras inside to see how they are doing.
Hey David :) an employee of Earl’s told me that they won’t be in the new temp space until next year.
19:31 “As I shoot my way around the park” Those employees were probably like 😮😮😮 … 😂
The village in the Dark Universe (rumored to be named Darkmoor) has a store for Universal Monsters merchandise on one side of the street and a steak house restaurant on the other side (rumored to be called Das Stake House, as in "stake through the heart"). Also, Dark Universe has a designated area for future expansion in the back of the land, rumored to be for an indoor boat ride of The Creature From the Black Lagoon (like Pirates of the Caribbean but swamp themed instead). 35:25
Tendita Nachos were awesome and price ($14) was decent for DTD plus portion was big.
Great vid as always.
The gold concrete flooring is the outdoor extended que for the Mine Kart Madness attraction in the Donkey Kong section. I believe covers will follow?
Peppers!!!! 💛
I think the crews from Disneyworld are here!
Those little houses are where the dragons live.
I was there recently and the scaffolding on the water tower is down and more foliage was added to the exterior to the ride
I want them to bring back Rainforest Cafe. That place was our favorite.
I’ll be In the park Saturday!
Us, too. What are the odds?!
Disney’s Bayou Boo-Boo
Tiendita- pans stacked on top of pans...that is technically not food safe practices. Unless they are discarding that product within 4 hours.
David, it was nice to have seen you on Friday at the Tomorrowland Monorail Station.
The drop planks removed and the roller coaster tracks exposed at the drop point a week or two from testing. Stairs on the scaffolding on Polynesian for emergency egress.
They Would do Testing the Logs too like at Disney World Magic Kingdom Tianas Bayou Adventure
There was a post on Reddit that they had the water running. My guess is just checking for leaks as it has been empty for a few months now.
Going next week. Happy walls are down at City Hall for our entrance. 😊
FRESHBAKED is DISNEYLAND... and Disney World? And Epic Universe? LOVE IT ❤
That green thing looks to me like a cover for something. Either a speaker or a spotlight maybe. It looks like it's flipped up on its side, so something will be placed there in the middle and it'll flip down over it. Could be wrong though.
I saw that big al in person and got a picture with it
I am excited about yellow peppers and I vote
Tiana Bayou Adventure water ride
Cientida needs dedicated seating and tables. 14:35
Tiendita is a grab and go location, by design.
Hey Fresh Baked!!
Hey David, you should leave a camera in the bushes with a large battery pack around critter country at night before closing and see what they’re doing overnight and retrieve it in the morning.
Extremely illegal lmao
At 30 minutes and 11 seconds I couldn't help but notice how much that Susan person looks like my uncles. I almost thought it was one of them for a second.
Is there an estimated time for critter country to be done and haunted mansion?
The drop planks removed and the roller coaster tracks exposed at the drop point a week or two from testing.
It's Audry Two.
The concrete pathways under starfall racers coaster is emergency access only and not accessible to guests
Din Tai Fung will be opening in the summer, according to what they said on the site on Facebook about their restaurant's. We have two here around the Portland area and hopefully I plan to check it out.
