- We have our approval from the city of Anaheim. Disneyland Forward IS ON. Let's take a walk ON LOCATION around each of the proposed expansion sites for Disneyland Forward. Simba Lot, Downtown Disney Lot, Disneyland Hotel lot and the Toy Story parking lot. We'll walk the sites and plot where things might appear while talking about what is possible, and what is not possible. Third gate? Eastern Gateway? Gardenwalk? What is happening in that space between the lots at Downtown Disney?!

All I know is that with all the future construction, Earl of Sandwich is going to be moved another 3 times.
The owners must be super patient to tolerate that kind of treatment.
Only 3 times?
I heard the latest plan was to stick EoS up in the Matterhorn basketball court.
I would be very disappointed if Disney blows the Toy Story Lot land on a shopping center instead of a third gate, when GardenWalk is right there prime for retail redevelopment!
I hope I get to see some of this before I die! 😂😂😂 In all seriousness, I have worked in the Construction field for 18 years and this had to be the most interesting construction video, ever! What a way to bring all the concept arts to life, David!!! This was awesome!
55 HOPING ALSO
You won't. You'll be watching Disney broken up under antitrust and the demise of Galaxy's Edge and all things Marvel and Pixar.
Pathetic.
@@stanfordite1 I think Igar has this plan written down in his Satan-diary
@@stanfordite1 I think it's time indeed, that the anti trust legislation is getting out into the media industry.
Hey Brickey has great ideas on how they are going to do it and with zoning info. This is all very interesting to hear the ideas you all have!!! Very excited!!! But 40 year to complete it all :( I will be 88 LOL.
I'll be 111!
I def like Hey Brickey’s ideas. They make so much sense.
FRESHBAKED at this point should have millions of followers along w/ a say in official Disney decisions in my book. Def represents real frustrations & hopes for Disney of the people better then any Board/CEO does.
Haha I agree!! I think he shares the same sentiment as us when he said “I’d jump into traffic for the WDC” but also being upset at how things are being run and the stupid cost-cutting measures while also pricing out the average family 😵💫
And once Disneyland Forward is finished, then they'll start on a new Tomorrowland.
so sad, and i hope not true. they need to make sure the existing parks are maximized and in good shape before moving forward. tomorrowland should be first on their to-do list.
And Disneyland Forward will never happen. Tomorrowland under my management will go back to 1967 to make it great again.
Looking forward to watching all of Fresh Baked's coverage! This was a great video!
One of your best!
Great video Fresh Baked. Very informative getting a on the scene perspective.
Love your channel ❤ love this topic so much could watch this for hours
FRESHBAKED is DISNEYLAND!!
ONce again, watching Freshbaked video's and another one hits. LOVE LOVE, LOVE Freshbaked!!!
I really appreciate this, I was having a hard time mapping the concept art to what's there right now. You did all the work! Thanks!
This Disneyland forward Excites me so much I'm so looking forward to this
Verrrrrrrrry interesting. All I can say is that I’m excited!! Thanks for the updates Fresh Baked!
FANTASTIC video! I watched it three times!
These videos give me real hope for the Disneyland Forward project as a whole so we thank you for all that you do David. I will also note how great it will be to finally get some of those good old fashioned bird’s eye views of the construction progress from Pixar Pals/Mickey & Friends parking structure as we did back when SWGE was being developed/constructed. That view at the end was a wonderful reminder of that exciting time for us fans.
Wow, thank you for this amazingly informative video. The use of maps, visual, markers, acreage, overlays, size comparisons, and overall quality is unmatched. Thank you for all of the hard work you put into this video. We are looking forward to Disneyland's expansion. ❤
They should put the power lines underground.
Awesome analysis! Thanks for all the work you put into this video.
Thank you for this gives more of a perspective of future spots
This is great David-love the insight.
Great future construction walk-thru David. I'm sure something will happen, but not in my lifetime. I love that Disneyland is always changing! Thank you for sharing, FreshBaked!❤
Thanks for this!
Great overview Dave!!
So much to ponder. Not just a big wide open space. Lots of planning and details. But... Disneyland OG is the best... tight and original and no far flung pieces to transport to.
Great video David if walt disney was around he would be walking around like you are doing creating ideas and plans but amazing video keep up the great work
Dave, I hope you and your family are doing well. Just wanted you to know that the Disney content you put together always brightens my day! Keep up the great family friendly content. Peace! 🙏
Excellent video, David!
Thanks!
In the final Disneyland Forward proposal, Toy Story was quietly designated as "Theme Park East". I belive it was multi use before that.
It will be zoned as multi use yes. But the noise ordinance will still be an issue
@FreshBakedDisney Side note. Thanks for stopping to talk to me at dca Friday. It was great finally running into you. I was the guy over by the Theater/Mission Breakout.
Nice walk today. I wonder where the RV parking will go? Thank you for your updates
HERE WE GO! FRESHBAKED!
I will be at Disneyland this Saturday I hope I see you over there
Thank you for posting this. I've always been curious to see how much land they actually have to expand.
Always liked the yellow hoodie. Surprising you can still wear it n late spring.
I'll be a ghost by the time this all happens.
I plan to hang out and visit from another dimension. 😂
I've been watching you a long time, David. You've come a long way, baby. This was an impressively good video. 👍
Duck zoo
Great video Dave! Hopefully it gets done in my lifetime. Lol
I gotta say this video was super well made, pretty impressive actually
David, have you seen the videos of Tokyo Disney Springs? It's amazing!
A good companion videos to this is Hey Brickey’s Disneyland Forward series. His are a bit clearer vision.
Great video, but I believe that the first thing that they will do is build the Parking Structure on the east side, behind the hotels on Harbor Boulevard. They can't build anything on the parking lots until the have a replacement for all those cars to park.
A conversation we go into in detail in this video.
@@FreshBakedDisney Yes, I wrote the comment before you got to that point of the video. My bad.
Aw... that hotel David mentions that got torn down to act as a gate for the Harbor parking lot was called the Carousel Inn. It was my favorite!
I stay at Kings Inn Anaheim right by the GardenWalk. I love being able to walk to the Gardenwalk and eat at Johnny Rockets or the Cheesecake factory, or purchase Starbucks for my wife. There's usually no one there, so the restraunts really cater to you and it's always quick.
🎉CAN WAIT FOR ALL THE NEW CONTENT
It’s giving Brickey 😂
I was about to say the same thing.
@@chrisxglassthe same title even!
22:00 the parking beyond the berm is parking/ water retention pond with all that blacktop the water can’t rush out all together so that parking area has the ability to flood and release water in a controlled manner… pretty cool!
I always park at the Garden Walk parking structure but I’ve NEVER EVER been into the actual place 😂 Always just stop by to walk to Disneyland for lunch or something when I have a reservation.
More Disneyland Forward content please!
@3:19 concept art shows two show buildings with a connector between the show buildings. there is walkway for guest access to DCA to the east over Disneyland Dr between the two buildings.
@12:49 the Downtown Disney Monorail Station is not shown?
@26:24 looks like a new mega parking structure on the eastern side of the Katella cast member lot.
haha oh man I just booked a trip and am staying at the JW, didn't realize it was in garden walk xD gonna have to stay up to date with news before I go!
Great vid. Re-themed/covered Disneyland drive will connect the north and south areas bypassing Downtown Disney all-together. Toy Story definitely will be 'themed' resort hotels--last chance for Disney to do this in 'urban' Orange County. How 'bout a high capacity skyway
to move guests between Toy Story & Disney 'proper'.
Eastern Gateway will have a walking path and a high capacity people-mover between parking and bag-check.
Thank god for other theme parks that dont have to go through what Disneyland is going through i feel bad for Disneyland this is why Disney tickets are up because there to busy to keep up with Disney World or try to be bigger then Disney World love you fresh baked
300 feet is the set back, for residential area zones on Disneyproperty.
Use the new Disneyland Hotel tower as a guide to see an example of the set back. (not the step up part, but the tower).
The GardenWalk is zoned for Vacation Club use
This is such a massive bunch of projects and will surely change a thousand times before anything is completed, but it's exciting to think about.
Oh my gosh!! Was waiting for a video like this to break it down on the possibilities of how it would probably look when Disney expands. Overall I Love the vid!! I’m just sad that Toy Story parking lot will be gone. I love parking there. Don’t like parking structures because it’s a pain when I want to leave. Toy Story is so easy. 😁 I will be watching this video again! Thank you!!!
The space in front of the hotel, by the convention center at 18:00, Iit looks like it could be a walk way space, similar to the space they have between the hotel and pool space. Maybe even a small pond of some sort? I'm excited for all this!
Ok Fresh Baked! Now my head is just spinning.
Great video. Hope the Toy Story lot is a third gate because why would they build a fancy hotel attached to another Garden Walk. Westcot?
Replacing the convention center with a parking lot is losing a huge revenue source. So I think the “Disney Springs” Toy Story lot space is the replacement hotel and convention center. This is a great video. Such fun to speculate and validate! Thanks for the footwork!
FRESHBAKED is DISNEYLAND!! Can't wait to see your construction updates as part of Forward!!!!!!!!!! Those are going to be TIGHT!
there are 3 marriotts on property in florida. perfect fit.
Close to 200k 🎉
Nicely done. There is already a bus that takes you from Toy Story to the gates so they could expand that to take folks back and forth to a 3rd gate?
For me GardenWalk is a parking lot for when I want to go to the parks for a few hours. I have maybe been to the shops there once.
It will be interesting to see what Disney says at D23 if anything at all. If they're in the mindset to get avatar fully built and open by the time the 2028 summer Olympics come to LA then they would have to start building it starting next year. But who knows. I enjoyed this entire video.
I'll be dead by the time they are done 😂😂
Would love to get the new tangled, beauty and the beast ride, or something big hero 6
I often stay at The Holiday Inn on the backside of Mickey and Friends parking. So I walk up Magic Way to go into to the resort and I can attest there is hardly ever traffic on Magic Way. If there is it is Disney Hotel Guests or Yard Crew with a cop and a maintenance vehicle just parked in the middle of the street.
So a couple things. 25 acres for the south west may be a bit small depending on how close they run up to the frontier tower. The old Aulani building and lot can go also. Rose garden? Also the turn styles we have been monitoring; we have always assumed they were coming in to DTD right? Is it possible they are going the other direction, into the "new" DCA area?
They’re definitely being built to enter Downtown Disney right now. But they could always reverse them in the future. There’s also the possibility that they could make part of Downtown Disney actually inside the theme park space, especially after they open a bunch of new shops where the Toy Story lot currently is.
What if Disney made a two story indoor them park on toy story parking lot, Disney at one point was going to do something like that in St. Louis. Also if the bought garden walk I wonder if the would then be able to connect a skyliner
There was 41 acres in Burbank that the city was willing to sell to Disney "dirt cheap" in the 90s to build a new style of mall with attractions based upon Disney-MGM Studios. Universal played a part in shutting it down.
Hey Fresh Baked!!
I see what you did there! Hahaha 😉
the Monorail is the best option for the DLR
Put the parking structure above ground and the convention center under the parking lot. By the time this all starts we are going to have atleast one if not two more Avatar movies so it could fill a whole land with many parts of avatar.
I remember when the GardenWalk was a field of weeds.
Second Entrance?
How about an Early Entrance for Hotel guests (west of Disney Drive) and the Rope drop entrance at Main Street
didnt the plans that was presented to the city, refer to 3 bridges going over Harbor?
From a design standpoint they are going to need to put super e-ticket “must ride” attractions in these areas to draw crowds this deep into the areas.
Do you think they will drop down the road like they did at Downtown Disney david? Because elevation to get people up and over Disneyland Drive would be quite a bit of elevation and definitely not handicap friendly
LOL! I’m 67. I’ll be gone before it’s done. So sad!! I hope some is done in 10 years! 😳
Any word on where all the displaced parking spots will be? New lots?
Is it possible they take advantage and add another hotel?
I would hope that they will build transport from DCA to the new area, like People Mover or SkyWay
How you get to toy story lot for park hopping? Hire elon to bore a tunnel and put a underground themed subway like attraction. Walt loved transportation . Or a underground omni mover
hear me out : Underground tram tunnel from the hotels right into the middle of the park ?
All of those high tension power cables running through the lot will be what run underground? How much would the cost to move those power grids holey smokes
Either way one of the parking lots will be a version of Fantasy Springs as its 34.5 acres and they've said “look forward to” but it could change
The ‘new’ Hotel (Disney Springs). Idea… make it a wedding venue, with chapel and reception halls! The number of Disney weddings could fill the park!
I do hope that whatever plans they make still allow east side hotel patrons to enter via harbour, it’s such a convenient and more affordable area to stay!
Dave,
Fantasy Springs is a fascinating addition to these speculations. It is about 15 acres (not counting the new hotel), and it is a kind of "uber land" that encompasses three small lands in about the same space as Galaxy's Edge. The three IPs in FS are close enough in tone that they don't need huge thematic transitions between them. Looks like a design success to me.
While Avatar would need to be its own separated thing, perhaps there are other IP's that could flow together with smaller footprints like at Fantasy Springs.
David, do we know if some of the more spectacular rides at Tokyo Disney like beauty and the beast have do not compete clauses for a certain number of years? I thought I remember that tron, for example, had a do not compete clause for a number of years before they could begin building it in WDW. Thanks for your attention to the details of this possible future expansion.
Why not a tunnel to connect a parking garage to the eastern gateway? Practical for siesmic activity?
In regard to the second entrance issue, what if they added a transport option? Kind of like the Hogwarts Express in Universal Orlando that connects DL and DCA for park hopping, then you maintain one entrance.
Great video! Some thoughts: 1. Crossing Disneyland Drive - instead of thinking of it as a long walk over a bridge, think of building a very wide bridge deck and then maximizing the use of all that "free" acreage. Those crossings won't feel like crossings at all - they will feel like key sections of lands loaded with F+B, retail, landscaping, etc. 2. Toy Story - to be a bit critical, WDW has been hijacked by timeshare development. I have to wonder if the entire Toy Story area is being given over to DVC and other fast ROI development schemes? Alternatively, do you think SoCal has any need for a waterpark? That would require only a smaller plot. Maybe it could be some combo of timeshare developments anchored with a water park and F+B/retail?
They would need some type of transportation to get you to and from the extended section of the park, It would be too far for guests to walk. Maybe something they can copy from WDW? Any mention of a transportation on the plans?
Yes, the plans to the city referenced pedestrian bridges, Monorail, PeopleMover and Skyway
Disney springs likely going to be disney timeshare dvc...i suspect they want to sell more dvc.
They should add a People Mover as part of the Avatar Experience.
Wondering what their intentions are concerning the tall power cables and towers along the Simba lot / walnut divide, and the towers and power lines on the other side of the Simba lot?
They could have park hop entrances without rope drop? Only open them at 11?
I think a Polynesian themed land would be awesome and could transition quite well into avatar potentially. It would be so cool to get LILO and Stich attractions as well as Moana.
