While line distribution is rarely 100% evenly distributed, and can be a little lopsided, it's still far more balanced than in Western groups, even ones consciously copying kpop style such as Fifth Harmony. Where the Western groups break down is artist egos -- kpop idols aren't allowed to have egos ;) At least not until their seven years are up...

I agree. I'm a heavy moomoo but I think its a bit hard to introduce someone to a group when he is singing and humming over the whole video and when his friend tries to talk to him, he sings instead. But I also get how much mamamoo sucks people in.
