We recently picked up a SP25 GT and we're very impressed with it. With a larger engine and best mix of tech/luxury/safety features for not too much extra, for us it was the best sweet spot.
This was a good way to review a range of cars...well done. The Mazda 3's have lovely swoopy curves to them and look like 'baby Maseratis' (especially from the front). It's just a shame then the premium look and feel of the car is let down by the noise insulation issues.
Will definitely check out the base SP25 myself. Bit disappointed that all the press releases and articles about that G-Vectoring thing translated to a barely perceptible difference behind the wheel, though.
SP25 GT Auto Sedan + Safety Pack is my pick. I enjoy all the creature comforts but I will never use the sunroof and it’s just one more thing to leak or crack.
I like that Mazda has stuck with NA engines and haven't gone down the turbo route. I reckon they'll sell more 2L variants here in NZ. Base model = fleet car heaven.
Australian review. Nice! Good work team. I'm keen to get hold of a Mazda 3 SP25 pretty soon, just waiting for the price for a used model to drop a bit.
Haha did they drop? Bought mine in 2020/21 (2016 sp25) and it’s worth 3-5k more now with some paint chip on bottom of front bumper and an extra 30k km… prices on used cars still ridiculous
Funny how car manufacturers don't change much. The first Mazda 323 from 1977 with it's sweet little 1272cc engine was noisy but sounded so great it was actually a plus. It may have also looked gay as F. too but sold like hot cakes and nobody cared; just like the current crop...
I really like this video! Very informative but the guy seemed to be calling the shots between the 2 of them….I like how much the woman knew too! Nice video
The only thing I really give a shit about is reverse camera.. that piddly back window looks cool, but it'd be a reversing nightmare. "Boomp, boomp! Shit what was that.. ah only some kid". Otherwise I'd save 2 grand and simply get the Neo, I really don't care for all the other "hi tech" nonsense. Because unlike the Mazda 2, the (non-SP25) 3's all have the same 2.0L Skyactive engine. Also, 18" alloys on a small car.. fuck that noise.
Ok. This isn't a good comparison. First of all, you never buy a Mazda with an automatic gearbox. Mazda is extremely well know for it's driving experience including their fantastic manual gearboxes. If you want to buy a Mazda with an automatic gearbox..then you shouldn't buy a Mazda. The 2 liter 120 bhp engine in combination with a 6 speed manual gearbox is internationally praised by different car testers and the automotive press. Second of all: the trim levels are the same in the sedan and the hatchback. It therefore would have been much more interesting to see you compare a sedan vs a hatchback.
An Automatic Transmission for an everyday car like the Mazda3, it's more suited than a Mechanical one; unlike the case of a sports car, like the MX5. Besides, Mazda's Skyactiv-Drive it's just as good as their Skyactiv-MT.
This is the next level of car reviews that UA-cam needs .... makes buying a car a whole lot easier ... great work guys
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
FINALLY a video that compares all the bloody options for 1 car, much love.

Sunroof is only in the Astina.
We have the sp25 GT doesn't feel uncomfortable at all. Love the car and the manual is so so fun
this is a great video series, perfect for people who are about to buy their car but are confused with the models. keep this up!
I'm confused between the sedan and the hatchback on the Mazda3. And this review certainly doesn't help me with that.
dandinofat what is there to be confused about? one's a hatch and one's a sedan...... besides the looks and interior space, everything's the same

Guy - "Seems like we found the sweet spot"
Something going on here haha xD

Car Advice, please do comparison about Toyota SUVs (Fortuner vs Kluger vs Prado vs Rav4 vs FJ Cruiser)
That's a great idea!
I'm still waiting :)
Autonomous braking means I can't tailgate people now?
Great idea with the range reviews. This has bought me over to subscribe
Cheers! Thanks for watching - plenty more to come :)
isnt the wheels on the astina from the sports package? is it standard now?
Is the lane keep and radar cruise control optionally on any of the lower models?

Would love to see a comparison for the new 2019 Next-Gen Mazda 3 :D please and your pic out of the bunch
Best mazda comparison, good jobs👍
nice review
Strong video guys ..I prefer the Touring myself!
where can I get the car like the price you marked ? it's much cheaper than dealers
+songxingmu The prices mentioned are manufacturer recommended retail prices and don't include on road costs, which vary state by state.
Great review!
wich color is the white one please? i mean the exact name of the color.
It's white
Hey guys, were these prices inclusive of on the road costs?
Nope - prices are noted as list in Australia (before options and on-roads) and in Australian dollaridoos
+CarAdvice.com, tell T.L well done. Don't change a thing
+CarAdvice.com - "Australian dollaridoos" LMFAO

Sounds a bit sexist, why *should* Tegan know any less than Matt? They are both working in the same capacity?
Just bought the 2.2 liter diesel with a manual xD.
Wow the price has gone quite a bit
Remember these prices are Australian dollars in Australia.
especially with our low currency value at the moment, makes international imports a bit more pricy.
Those Astina wheels are shit. Can't believe they let that happen.
It’s optional luckily. I’m looking at used Mazda3s and some of them have this optioned and it’s putting me off. Look ghetto asf
@@User-cb4jm Dang right. Hope you get the right spec for you at a good price
the price of small cars is getting ridiculous now. top spec i30 is over 30k too.
iammrknowitall try 38k haha and I know
