- I confess, I watch a lot of Instagram Reels (I'm too old for TikTok), and they are 95% food (5% dogs and cats).
Of course I wonder, "would this work in a pieiron?", and I start thinking about how I can make these recipes camp cooking friendly. I took my top 5, and tried them out, in the field.
Unfortunately - weather conditions being what they are -- not over a fire.

At 14:50 cleaning surfaces...I like to use vinegar with the scrapper for those sticky messes! Loving the pie iron recipes!

OK you had me ROARING over here with the smores cookie "tastes like sadness"😂😂😂😂😂 then I lost it again with the overzealous sauce squirt😂😂😂😂 Yeah, the oven version of the cookie was spot on. Good idea with the schoolboy cookies. I want to try everything. I can't watch your vids at night. Gives me the munchies and i dont have any of the ingredients. I did put the ingredients on my grocery list for next time.

I love the schoolboy cookies! But for our s'mores we use Keebler Fudge Stripe cookies and they're so good! Talking about them makes me want one right now even though it's 7am. 😅🤤

if you like a thin crispy crust use a tortilla. bake for about 4 minutes after forking so it dosen't puff up. then put the toppings on it a heat for about 10 minutes. 425F.. decades ago they had a peperoni pizza sauce on the market. like all things it disappeared.. try using the pizza sauce as a marinaira sauce. has the sauce spices vs just plain sauce. going have to try the puff pastry for pizza dough. i'll bet your chocolate chips got melted by some heat in the car or shipment. so you got double chocolate chip. try the smore in the field again but precook your cookies. then no more than 1 minute maybe 90 seconds to melt the chocolate & marshmellow. i see you know about raiding the salad aisle for the bacon. i can also find the .8 oz packs. enough for 1 person at a time, instead of the big bags.
I do love some pizza sauce! At some point, the "easy squeeze" starts making an appearance in the recipes. I like it because it's thicker than pasta sauce, and you can't beat the convenience of a squeeze bottle.
Martha I love your cooking videos. I am thinking of buying that stovetop pie iron. Does it work as good as the iron one that goes in a fire? I don't build fires every time I go camping so I'm thinking the stove one would work better for me. I believe they are made out of aluminum.

That's what was used in the very first version of this recipe that I saw! When I saw it at Ace, I probably picked up the jar and set it back down 10 times (I have a condiment addiction). Ultimately decided to pass on buying it, but one day I'll cave and pull the trigger. 😆

Pretty much everything was on about as low as I could get it, without the flame going out.
