Bradish has definitely been our ace this season. Rodriguez will be great in the future I have no doubt, but game 1 ALDS I’m starting Bradish 9/10 times. Means will get back to form next year hopefully and Dean Kremer is making vast improvements year over year. Our pitching should be solid for the next 4-6 years I hope
@@SmartrBaseball Absolutely, Next year will be the year of Grayson Rodriguez for the O's. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up with a Cy Young award or nomination in the next few years either(barring a major regression and/or injury of course). Means should be back to normal by next year, he was already showing flashes of 2021 brilliance. Kremer has some work to do, but he'll get there. Our pitching problems have become less prevalent this year. Now I'm more worried about the bullpen. Missing Bautista is going to HURT next season. Fuji needs major improvement before I'm sold on him, and I don't think Flaherty lasts after this offseason, unfortunately.
@@SmartrBaseball Don't forget about John Means. Right behind them as the #3 right behind them after being our Ace in 2019-2021, he could do damage too. Then adding in Dean Kremer as well and it looks scarier
Grayson is great but for 2023 and specifically the 2023 Postseason Kyle Bradish is the O's Ace. He is going to get the most starts and set the tone. But for all of the "O's weakness is their pitching" the starters have been awesome since the All Star break and deserve a lot more credit that have been given nationally.
Their weakness was historically their pitching for a long time, even when they were in the running for the playoffs every year. They had a lot of impressive bullpen pieces and promising prospects but most of them never panned out with the orioles.
@@williesquire-zw4nx alright how about matusz arrieta bundy gausman and tillman? A few good years between the bunch but they were their "future" in the 2010s
Controversial opinion: Adley Rutschman is actually the Orioles ace. He’s the new Yadier Molina. He makes mid pitchers good and good pitchers great. The year-over-year drop in team ERA should be partially attributed to advances he’s made in his catching game.
Bradish has been our clear cut ace all year. Rodriguez and Bradish will be the top of rotation guys for years to come. Alongside them we have 3 extremely solid starters in Wells, Means, Kramer. Wells was looking like our ace in the first half until the workload got to him and he had to go to the minors for some recovery but he will be back next year and be a big piece in this rotation. Means coming back from tommy john and showing sign of being just as steady and dependable as he was in previous years. Then there is Kremer who will go out and compete every start and will always give the team and opportunity to win. I hope we can keep these 5 guys together for the long haul!!
Dude Bradish is CRIMINALLY underared.. homie has the 3rd lowest ERA in the AL. & he was supposed to be a guy that maybe could eat some innings (he was a throw in from the Dylan Bundy trade) Grayson is looking like a true ace, I know hes gonna have growing pains & Im a little worried hes gonna need TJ within the next couple years.. Im happy AF to have Means back, kinda worried going into the playoffs tomorrow how well match up against Texas. That Flaherty trade was a total bust & looking back Id rather have kept Drew Rom.. he was looking pretty solid for St. Louis towards the end of the season. & anither crafty lefty who can control the zone would be CLUTCH in Baltimore sinxe weve made the wall in right like 800 feet.
Tyler Wells is currently looking to be a closer for us, but for the first half of the season he was a DAWG. Then he set a career innings high and started having arm fatigue, but he's come back to the majors as a bullpen arm.
What you missed was Tyler Wells. He was the mirror to GRod. Wells was a top-5 ERA guy the first half of the year then struggled hitting spots. the brass sent him down and from 3 spot relief appearances, appears to have returned to form. When each is pitching at their best, I'm not sure who I would call Ace. Def something to watch
Next year i suspect the starting rotation is going to be Braddish/Rodriguez/Means/Kremer, with either Wells, or someone we bring in, in FA to fill the last spot. Will be fun to watch this young team going forward.
I suspect either McDermott or Povich from the minors. Both have great potential, especially McDermott. We'll just have to see how it goes in the offseason and with spring training.
@@Ilovesleeping-nj1hd I could see that, I knew of McDermott, but not much else bout the pitching in the minors. Guess they get over shadowed by the bats in the minors
Kremer gets so much hate around Bmore espavially on the radio. I like him a lot. He's really good when he's on plus he's consistent for the most part. I think he'll be even better next season. Dude still learning.
Bradish is the ace. He's been the most consistent starter all season. Kremer put together a solid year too. He simply piggy-backed the 2nd half of last year into 2023. GRod has shown flashes of his pitching prowess. Still needs to string together a whole MLB season before stating a claim as the Orioles ace. Oh, Means probably has his use as long relief in the playoffs. Or, gets a start. Just my opinion.
Being a Red Sox fan I have been telling my friends that the O's worry me for like the last three years. They have hit gold in their draft picks, trades, and player development. As well as keeping the teams budget low. They are set to be a top team for the next 5+ years easy without losing much. If they could sign some of those star players now that number could go to the next 8+ years.
Grayson's been fantastic since getting back up to the O's but our ace is definitely Bradish. Bradish is 4th in MLB era, above everyone but Snell, Cole, and S Gray. It's actually crazy that Bradish gets ZERO love and recognition from the mainstream mlb coverage! Of course Means just start playing again but his Era since his start is even lower than G Cole's. The Orioles have 3 really good starters and even Kremer and Gibson are top 20 in MLB era.
Bradish has been the ace, but I think Rodriguez has a higher ceiling and will be the ace in the future. I like Bradish a lot and he’s a very good pitcher but I wouldn’t be surprised if he regresses slightly next season (maybe a low 3 ERA)
I think both Bradish and Rodriguez are going to be so good, we may not be able to afford their next contracts for both so let's enjoy watching them pitch while we have them.
The orioles flew under the radar all year long no National outlets acknowledge them as even a play off threat until a month and a half ago. No one acknowledged Kyle bradish until Tyler wells collapsed and now he’s going to be getting some cy young votes. Kyle bradish was the most unsung hero for the season and to think that we have three to four potential aces (if Tyler wells works back up and can be consistent) the orioles are going to have one of the most dangerous starting pitching staffs along with a lights out set up man and closer if Bautista can come back and be the same player he was. Not to mention that the orioles offense is ridiculous when it’s on. It’s going to be a dangerous couple of years until John angelos doesn’t resign a single one of our stars to a free agent contract.
Do you think either Bradish or Rodriguez are aces right now? Cause then to your point they absolutely have a well rounded contender for at least the next couple years, just have to keep everyone together
The orioles org has gone bonkers this year the triple a affiliate Norfolk tides (my local team) won the championship for the first time since 85 and now the orioles are en route to potentially win it all also!? When was the last time an mlb team and it’s triple a affiliate won their respective titles? Hopefully Jackson holliday can be a massive part of the team next season
don’t you love it when people make videos about your favorite team, and they don’t watch your favorite team, and they talk about people off of stats, and they just say stuff that is completely wrong, bradish is our ace, rodriguez is second on the team. I guess my point is the fact that the title says Finally as if bradish hasn’t been here for a few years
Grod is gonna be our ace for hopefully a long time. Bradish was great this year but grod is finally looking like the ace we envisioned when we drafted him
When all is said and done, GR will be mentioned every time someone talks about the all time great pitchers in BB....we are about to see if it starts with this year.
I think the O's have the potential to have a great rotation, with the young guys you mentioned as anchors in the long term. If they wanted to hedge against Rodriguez having a sophmore slump or Means not returning to form, they could probably sign a guy to a 2 - 3 year deal, but they're set-up pretty well for the next decade. I see them and the Blue Jays as the top AL East teams, I like Toronto's offensive firepower potential. The Rays are always going to be in the conversation as well. The two former behemoths, Boston and New York, have a lot to figure out.
This was a long video, to actually miss the biggest reason. The rumor around the team, was that he was horribly tipping his pitches his first time up. He was sent back down to refine his mechanics and work on consistency between his pitches.
