I'd say one of THE most helpful videos showing and telling what Tools to take as well as fluids. Thanks
Great beginners class. I think everyone needs to take a class like this when they start out.
I agree!
It should be covered by the dealer when you buy a new vehicle if you are buying your first 4 wheeler. I knew a guy who worked as a break down road side assist mechanic, he went to a call out where a lady bough a second hand 4 wheeler and didn't know that if you drive through water deeper than your bonnet and you don't have a snorkel fitted you run a very high risk of ruining your engine. The lady had a $30k loan and basically just ruined her diesel engine.
+fourbypete That's a tough lesson learned.... Ouch!!! The only thing the dealer told me was don't use snow chains.
+TrailRecon Did the dealer say why?
Very useful ! Thank You for this video. I need To buy More stuff now :p
Our Jeep club does a novice coarse for new members every year and also a women driver only event. It's things like this that make clubs great. Cool video!
I think it's the things off the trail that make a Jeep club special! Thanks!
We have to say that the ladies were all such great students and while on the trail after the field class session filmed here, they all did extremely well. Bravo Zulu Ladies!!
You guys did an awesome job putting this class together... many will benefit from this information!
Very good video.. very informative !!!! I agree that every beginner needs a class like this one .
Wow very very good was sad when the video ended lol
Great video I must say I have gained a lot more knowledge. I have been wanting to get into a beginners off road here in Northern California 👍🏼👍🏼
I learned a few things that day as well, they put out some great information! Thanks!!
Great informational video, and a good "return to learn" for those who may have forgotten about the basic necessities. We all know that it is better to have a "Dive Buddy" in this case off-road buddy, and maybe this was covered (off air), but in a survival scenario a few bottles of water, and a couple of MREs may be helpful in your kit as well.
Great point, the best thing you can bring with you off-road is someone in another rig. Water and food are always recommended. Thanks!
Not in Cali but I definitely need to take a class myself lol. Been off roading pretty extensively since I was around 12 or 13 with my dad but at 27 now I still feel like I could learn a lot. With that said I learned in a KIA of all things.
Great information.
The club did a great job putting this together. Good info for new off roaders!
absolutely.
As a new Jeep owner, I found this class most helpful. Even took notes for future reference. By asking around and watching youtube, I have accumulated most of the equipment shown. Thank the crew for sharing their experience.
Would 25 psi be ok for airing down on mild to moderate dirt/small rock trails? So far I have traveled alone, and do not have bead locks, only Willys Wheeler tires.
Awesome man, glad this was helpful! I have been running 18-20 psi on the trail in my tires for over a year without any issues, but always air back up before I hit the freeway.
I didnt catch the fluids he said to carry on the trail at 21:41 ... Due to audio and jet engine flying by.. Can anyone comment on what does fluids are???
Transmission fluid, gear oil, power steering & brake fluid, casket seal, and RTV. Gotta love those jets!
I'm a first time Jeep owner. I would do this clasz
Awesome, hope you found this information helpful! Thanks for watching!
Great video. But does he call keep calling a winch a wench. Just made me smile. Thanks for sharing.
I can't finish watching this video and wanted to mention one more thing. If it is covered later in the video, I won't know it for a day or two.
Always carry a Haines repair manual for your vehicle, best $$$ you can spend.
He forgot fire extinguisher.
Good for me to watch. Waaayyyyyy too much detail (IMO) for beginners. Talking to people about arc welding off a dual battery system when they don't know what bolt cutters are is ridiculous. More concept / less detail could help keep people from getting scared off. That being said-- very comprehensive for someone like me with a lot of research and a little experience
“Omg. Is this guy mansplaning?” Lol jk. Good vid
