  • One year, one state, and hundreds of special moments!
    Tassie, you are amazing
This video is made up of my favourite photos from throughout our twelve months in Tasmania.
We did 50 of the 60 Great Short Walks, 40 waterfalls, 12 lighthouses, 15 national parks, 13 state reserves, all of the show caves, 5 historic estates, 5 cruises, countless lookouts, countless museums, 3 ferries, 7 zoos/ sanctuaries, 4 town festivals, three historic military batteries, and so so much more. We did dairy tours, cheese tasting, penguins watching & many many hikes.
Heck, I even pushed my fear of heights and did zip lining, walked along open cliff tops, walked across the Gordon Dam Wall, climbed several mountains, and walked out onto some rather high lookouts. And I'm so glad I did.
We watched the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra Chorus at Port Arthur in the dark WOW. The play ‘Ship That Never Was’ in Strahan was funny and well done. The Wall was some of the best wood carving we have ever seen - such talent.
The food was amazing. I lost count of how many oysters we ate (we visited seven different oyster farms, some several times). The lobsters/ crayfish were amazing. The fresh fish straight off the boat was incredible. The bakeries were incredible. The fresh produce was the best. Tassie gets my vote for best food bowl of Australia.
The wildlife was incredible, both animals and birds. We have never seen so many swans, platypus, echidnas, wombats & pademelons in all our lives. And then there’s the Tasmanian Native Hens. These birds cracked us up so many times, they are hilarious. We saw many Tasmanian Devils in sanctuaries and I have to say I fell in love with these amazing creatures.
We met some amazing people, many of whom are now great friends. Some were local, some were travellers, and some were even as crazy as we are. Thank you to you all. You made our trip even better.
Please don't ask us ‘what was our favourite’. Tasmania was our favourite, the whole state, from the moment we landed to the moment we left. From the top to the bottom, and from east to west, it was special! There is something around every corner.
I could ramble for hours, but I won't. If you have questions regarding our experiences in Tasmania, feel free to ask. And/ or watched the 300+ videos I have created during our stay. I really enjoyed making them and we will treasure them always.
