    Nice job like always. The OM 603 turbo engine has the oil supply on the passenger side towards the back of the block for the turbo. You might want to add a brace between the block and exhaust manifold to help support the weight of the bigger turbo. Didn’t you upgrade rods and injector pump when you did the rebuild? I wish I had learned to tig weld when I was doing a lot of welding and fabrication. I guess we always did big stuff. Can’t wait for the intake and intercooler set up. I have a 1992 and 1995 W140 with om 603 turbo. I want to get my injector pump done to have a little more power, but nobody around home wants to build one for me.

    • @Foffe2000
      @Foffe2000  4 роки тому +2

      Hello Cullen, thanks for the tip about the oil supply, This one feels like it might be a little on the small side anyhow so it might be an update for a later time. About the manifold i have made the bends so that they almost pretroud directly from underneith the collector so on the turboside i dont think there are any big forces, on the exhaust flange on the other side it might be some forces yes. I have allready upgraded the rods (h-beam rods) and the pump (7,5mm dieselmeken). You can see all that in the OM603 rebuild last year. I have built a turbo conversion before without knowing how to tig and it was alot more work than this and the end result was just really bad and didnt even work at all in the end.The W140 is a mercedes that i think will get more and more expensive so hold on to that one.

      Hello Steven, i bought it on a swedish webshop page, i would guess there is webshops in Australia that sells brakelines that you can customize yourself? .. lenght and witch connector it should be in each end. In that case you just press in the measurements you need for the oil-feed event tought its sold as a braided brake line they work.

      you mean the OM603 turbo manifold? This is a N/A engine with the N/A manifold .. and even if i would get a original turbo manifold i would have a hard time fitting a HX40 under the hood. So i think this was the right way to go, and as a bonus i get all the piping in almost equal-lenght wich helps the spool-up time of the turbo.

    fan vad kul projekt(: svetsa grenrör är nått jag vill lära mig.
    Men varför satt du för ändarna när du svetsade? vad för syfte har det?(:

    • @Foffe2000
      @Foffe2000  4 роки тому

      Det är inte för att blockera rören, det är till och med ett borrat och gängat hål på en av portarna för att inte allt ska sprängas i luften när jag svetsar. Ändarna skruvas fast ordentligt i nått rejält stabilt för att flänsarna inte ska "slå" sig under svetsningen och vara raka. Utan dessa böjjer sig flänsarna likt bananer av kraften som blir då svetsarna svalnar.

    • @Foffe2000
      @Foffe2000  4 роки тому +1

      I do talk some of what i know being the differences between the NA and turbo versions in some of my older videos. The 26mm and 28mm rods on the rod small end is one, This block is originally a N/A but still had the squirters and extra oil cooler). But i do want to adress another thing i want to have said. Dont overcomplicate it! Alot of guys read up on a super 700hp build and they wanna build the exact same thing and go all in .. just to get burned out and discouraged, i do this mistakes some times to, but try to think and remind myself about this. Its better to build it more simple .. get to drive it and get more energy that way (and better self asteem) and then take the crappiest part of the build and make it better when you got the energy for it. Most of the parts in the video above you can just take of and put on another engine if this first one brakes.

    I'm looking for a video on how to clean, adjust and replace the non electronic idle control valve on an OM602 engine.
    Do you know if such a video exists?
    I have a fluctuating idle. I checked the vacuum lines and I performed a diesel purge, but no improvement.
    I suspect now the idle control valve (not electronic).

    • @Foffe2000
      @Foffe2000  3 роки тому

      hello BulgarianViking, this is more of a guesswork from my side than knowledge. If you got a healthy engine to begin with i dont see any problems on going past 200hp with all of the stuff orginal, francly i dont know any really weak points at all on these engines when it comes to horsepower, Heat on the other hand seems to be a problem on some parts of these engines and a overheated engine dont necesserarly have to do with lots of horsepower, it can be a overfuling injector pump and pulling a trailer or doing excessive burnouts.
      That can be prevented by dont go crazy on the fueling (black smoke is not equall to power on a diesel), get a ALDA that adjust the fueling of the engine based on boost (same stuff as regulates the boost on the turbos) and make sure that your engine runs cool enough , low termostate and a good working fan and radiator.
      If you pass the 350-400hp mark you can look into stronger piston-rods, but as i said .. make sure to have a good engine that been maintained with regular oilchanges.

    Stupid job, spend so much effort for what? You added a turbine, it increased the airflow into the combustion chamber, and what's next, but did you forget to increase the amount of fuel? The high-pressure fuel pump pump can only deliver the volume specified by the manufacturer.The high-pressure fuel pump in a turbocharged engine delivers much more fuel than a high-pressure fuel pump without a turbine. Also a question for pistons, they have a different shape of the top of the piston, the turbo one has a combustion swirl chamber, the non-turbo one does not have it, burning in such a chamber will lead to the death of the engin. You are not Mechanic, You are a schoolboy Learn the mat part.

      Maybe your stupid? the engine allready got overhauled in a previous video and got a 7,5mm dieselmeken pump mounted, later on i even build a testbench to flow these pumps and rebuild them myself with 7,7mm elements. But you are just guessing around on whats been done or not and being a rude idiot.
