Mine too Fam!!! Although I love so many more of her songs, those two right there are the tippy top for me!!! By the way, both versions of "I'm Comin' Back" are 🧑🚒🧑🚒🧑🚒
Some people must be cherished in life period. Here's great examples every time I see them... for a multitude of reasons. Big love & respect from London 💯
I saw Lalah at the Warner Theatre in DC, Musiq Soulchild was also the bill. I could not sit still when Lalah opened her mouth. She literally is another world!
Check this video out this is the most intense polyphonic singing even better than laylah. No shade to her I love her. But the chick in this video? Omg ua-cam.com/video/PXRUqIOxyrs/v-deo.htmlsi=LQI6U3PF8cGLTc-o
First time i saw the Snark's clip, apart from being taken away on that interval you sang, was , the expression of joy coming from the rest of the band at that moment. One of those moments that we wish we could nail on a regular basis.
I was blessed to see Lalah on Oct. 13, 2013 in Oakland CA (Sundays in The Redwoods). I'm also grateful that I was able to buy a copy of Where It All Begins from her mother.
It's God-Given...and we ALL know that can't be replicated without Him being involved in the mix...WOW...It sounds like 2 voices are singing out of one vocal chord
I really enjoyed watching Mr. Robert Glasper on the R&B Money podcast. *Super first grade* Im glad he has his own show because I love listening to underrated artists. Of course, I love Ms. Hathaway 🤎
She sang a song that so reminded me of her Daddy that my throat choked and I had to fight back tears.... but watching ya'll trying to Rashaan Roland Kirk ya'lls vocals like Ms. Hathaway can is crackin me up!
Lalah on 'Something' must be pretty legendary in music circles by now. I always enjoy seeing the way Sput and the others are so in awe and can hardly contain themselves when she does her amazing self harmonising. :D
Massai throat singing but it is also practiced in Mongolia as well. Mongolian throat singing is where it was first found....but yes Africans can do it too. They sound different. The one that she does is actually closer to what Mongolians do. The technique is the same though
Love the "lewk" Lalah!: hair, nails, "jewrees"😍 (in my Sylvester voice, lol). digging that Robert referenced the African connection ... it's DNA dangit! And um ... why say either/or and not both/and in the ancestor v. alien? ... "take it to the cosmos!"😄 (in my Tom Browne voice). But seriously, enjoyed this.
Oh yeaah! 'Dipliphonia', the voice produces two sounds of different pitch; overtone singing. To coin a word, 'Tripliphonia', three pitches produced at once. That's some self harmonizing! Checkout 'Tuvan throat singing' for a deep dive.
I can do something similar but on a brass instrument, I think of buzzing two separate pitches one with my upper lip and one with my lower and sometimes a third note comes out if I spread the pitches out further apart. I can only change notes with in the overtime series I’m on and at one point I was able to control it and play a blues with it it’s been over a decade and I didn’t keep up with the practice of it I can kinda do it still the singing of much more impressive though
So it involves incomplete vocal closure. I actually was able to do something similar (a "train noise") after her explanation. It only does more than one note for me very low in my head voice, which sort of makes sense because lower pitches mean "looser" vocal chords.
I came for Lalah, but stayed to replay the "accidental genius" jingle 😂
I’m telling you!!!! 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
She and Rachelle Ferrell should do something together 😮
they did. it's calling i'm coming back. It's on one of Lalah's later albums.

Mine too Fam!!! Although I love so many more of her songs, those two right there are the tippy top for me!!! By the way, both versions of "I'm Comin' Back" are 🧑🚒🧑🚒🧑🚒

I think we all do
Polyphonics is crazyyyyyy
I been trying to nail polyphonic singing I got one time and I haven’t been able to get since. It was an accident
Check this video out this is the most intense polyphonic singing even better than laylah. No shade to her I love her. But the chick in this video? Omg ua-cam.com/video/PXRUqIOxyrs/v-deo.htmlsi=LQI6U3PF8cGLTc-o
I'm loving Lalah look on this video, beautiful!
A true gift
What a beautiful woman
Pretty amazing
How she gonna harmonize with herself in one moment....omg!
First time i saw the Snark's clip, apart from being taken away on that interval you sang, was , the expression of joy coming from the rest of the band at that moment. One of those moments that we wish we could nail on a regular basis.
IMO she uses her voice like an instrument, the movements, riffs, runs are flawless execution
I was blessed to see Lalah on Oct. 13, 2013 in Oakland CA (Sundays in The Redwoods).
I'm also grateful that I was able to buy a copy of Where It All Begins from her mother.
Saw her do "A Song for You" at the Apollo. One of the best vocal performances I've ever experienced.
She has lost alot of weight. She has always been beautiful. I love her talent
Lalah is The Genius Extension of Donny Hathaway
It's God-Given...and we ALL know that can't be replicated without Him being involved in the mix...WOW...It sounds like 2 voices are singing out of one vocal chord
She even sings talking! Gosh essentially. I love her voice(s) lol
Its definitely her Dad assisting her, along with three ancestors. Thats the only way to put it.
Yessssssssss……. I laughed but loved and agreed with this comment…
It's a nother lady who did it in perfect harmony ❤ she can be looked up. . And her two part harmony was perfect .
🙏🏾Accidental genius!!!🔥
Lalah.......she's magic!!!!
I really enjoyed watching Mr. Robert Glasper on the R&B Money podcast. *Super first grade* Im glad he has his own show because I love listening to underrated artists.

The first Accidental Genius “WOOOOO” from Lalah took me to Jesus 🤣🤣🤣
She's an alien with her talent
Awesome...was 😆😆😆😆
Lalah on 'Something' must be pretty legendary in music circles by now. I always enjoy seeing the way Sput and the others are so in awe and can hardly contain themselves when she does her amazing self harmonising. :D
I was in Miami at the groundup music festival in 2019 and saw her perform Something. Wow!!!
LALAH IS A-MA-ZING!!! 💐👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

*Simultaneously the last verse: "What it is"
"What is was" "What is it"
"What it was about"
Amazing
Saw her a few months ago in concert 😊
That short hair works on her well❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
⭐️💯⭐️My favorite people 👁💜🎧🎼🎵🎙
😂😂😂 Rob trying to do it
Outrageous talent
I came for the 4:27 moment. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cousin! ✊🏽👽, IYKYK. 👁 😏
You had me at the first Accidental Genius. Hit subcribe on the 4th note lol.
That was incredible. I've never heard anything like that in my life.
Yet again, this woman looking yet unrecognizable to me. Many looks.
It’s an ancestral trait. There is a tribe in Africa that sings like that and she could be a part of it and don’t know it.
Interesting 😮
What tribe pleasE? Is it central Africa?
Can you share the link to the African video they're speaking of?
Massai throat singing but it is also practiced in Mongolia as well. Mongolian throat singing is where it was first found....but yes Africans can do it too. They sound different. The one that she does is actually closer to what Mongolians do. The technique is the same though
The Culture needs Lalah to make some records with Glasper. Badly needs.
I accidentally stumbled across this video, new Subscriber 😉
love the accidental genius jingle. And her poly phonic singing is total genius.
Brilliant
Genius
She has a glitch! Some people are just randomly blessed with the ability to doing some extraordinary stuff!
Lala use the overtone technique so beautiful. Rachelle Ferrell and Lisa Fisher use this also.
THAT IS FUCKING INSANE
the fact everyone wants to stun Robert Glasper with something they can do is hilarious
Lalah could fit in as a Braxton.
She's so beautiful with a beautiful voice.
Love her.
Wow!!! That's amazing to know
Off topic. This is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen! 😮😮
4:30 "So tell us about when you were abducted..." "Oh the probing!!" What a beautiful interview.
Corey ❤
Love the "lewk" Lalah!: hair, nails, "jewrees"😍 (in my Sylvester voice, lol). digging that Robert referenced the African connection ... it's DNA dangit! "So, tell us about when you were abducted." "Oh, the probing! Woooooo......Woooooo!" 🤣
I’m going to go watch that video right now!
T😮😮😮 mind blown 🤯 completely away!!! Not, it was a moment unrehearsed.. 🗣 y’all some 🎶👽 👽
Oh yeaah! 'Dipliphonia', the voice produces two sounds of different pitch; overtone singing. To coin a word, 'Tripliphonia', three pitches produced at once. That's some self harmonizing! Checkout 'Tuvan throat singing' for a deep dive.
‘That sounds like a fat ghost’ 😂
I love the Accidental Genius song!!😂😂😂
She’s Being Too Humble Like Brandy 😂

A Fat GHOST took me out, lol!!!
She really looks like McLyte here to me
04:26 "It could be alien" totally 😅
Lol Fat Albert trying breathe comment 😂

This was thouroughly entertaining

The late, great Leon Thomas did that all the time, decades ago.
So it involves incomplete vocal closure. I actually was able to do something similar (a "train noise") after her explanation. It only does more than one note for me very low in my head voice, which sort of makes sense because lower pitches mean "looser" vocal chords.
She just dropped John P Kee just like💥That caught me by surprise. Which album?
I swear i was asking the same thing !?! 😂😂😂😂
It’s called John P Kee - My Worship 7:26 time stamp
@@JohnTheeAngelThanks
Waaawuuuuu!!! More like Alien
👏😀
Lalah’s a cutie 😏
It sounds like harmonics on a saxophone but more amazing doing it vocally.
Just use your air 😂
That's crazy!
Not a fat ghost 😂
Not sure how and why she escaped heaven however she’s just God sent: I mean I felt that in my soul
Ok hair❤
