I love it, I remember in the early 80s Cars and Parts magazine had a series on the engineering and the design pre-production of the Franklin air-cooled engines and it was VERY in depth..
The exhaust valve expanded so many thousands of an inch when hot and they redesigned, the engine expanded and changed the clearance of the rocker arm to valve clearance and they redesigned,, on and on it went..
It was a great read...
