Folks I've gotten some comments about the speed. Tsukasa mentioned it, but I also got some comments privately. Does the x1.30 speed make the video unwatchable? If so, I might consider re-editing and re-uploading. I would love your honest and brutal feedback. There's no use in putting in all this work for the video if no-one can bare to watch it in the end.
It's a little hard to see (almost get motion sick =) ), but it weighs over as it's just repetition kills zombies. Glad you're back on youtube, nice to listen to you when one plays wurms =)
@@andreaskarlsson9393 Thanks Andreas! I was asking about this on Twitter as well - about half said they don't mind the speed, about half said they preferred normal speed. I think that instead of redoing this first part, I'll just make the next parts slightly slower.

This is going to be a great series. Watching it all play out, in real time, was a risky move for such a long video - but I'm glad you stuck with it. Seeing all your thoughts proceeed along the way is great!
Aw thank you so much for the encouraging comment Jeremy! Working on this video series has been a MASSIVE amount of work, so seeing your comment really made me feel like it's worth it! And very true! Each full week was recorded in one go. The series comes in 8 parts, which means that after 8 in-game weeks I finally succeeded without any deaths. (although there were many close calls along the way!)

First time watching love 7dtd but console here I like how you're explaining what all you need to craft certain things very helpful can't wait till the new 7dtd comes to console ... Thank you Kats

@@beardedwarzombie About the future changes that are planned, one thing I am not a fan of is the fact that you learn by looting not doing. The whole book and magazine thing. I think the way Darkness Falls does it is perfect. I mean, here's an example: How are you meant to learn to be a better shot by reading books only? You get it by practicing shooting! So yeah, feeling skeptical about the upcoming changes, but we'll see.
Heya YB!!! I was watching the VOD where DesignerPlays started his first journey with 7 days and man... it sure was great that you were there. You had fantastic advice for him! I noticed you guys also talked about the Dishong Tower Challenge. Yeah it is so so so so much fun. By the way, some of my houses will be included in the next compopack version. (they usually release a new version whenever 7 days updates to the next alpha version). The houses that will be in it are my modern ones you can see on my channel. I think they'll be including my fun house too.
Hi, I just found this video/series and am really enjoying it. You not only know this tower, but Darkness Falls very well. I was on the edge when you were fighting the mob on bottom and your health was below 20 I think. :) Is there any way to play it at normal speed?
Glad to hear you're feeling the thrills and spills! There are many more to come! You'll be happy to hear that while this video is at 130% speed, I slowed things down to 115% speed for the rest of the series and I think that balances things out quite nicely. For any future series that I do, I'll probably skip the speed thing completely as people seem to prefer just the normal.

However, this tower has been a problem for me not only for it's size but cause it kills my framerate. Lately, I've been editing it out of my maps. But, now I thought "it's time to conquer this bad boy".. Then, I stumbled upon this challenge and am doing it myself. I have never been in it before except maybe level one. Well, I made it to level 4 and fell down the elevator shaft and broke my leg. That is when I said "enough for today" and found your video. Watched it for hours until 6am. Whoops! :) Keep up the great vids. Love them.
@@reallybadgamer Ha nice! Yeah I remember back early this year when I first started playing, Dishong Tower felt HORRIFIC to me back then! But it's funny how once you get used to a place and learn all the ins and outs, it doesn't seem so bad after all! Doing these Dishong challenges has been the most fun I've had in the game so far, so I'm glad you're giving it a shot! And yeah, I have broken my legs soooooo many times in the elevator shaft haha. Although at first I thought the elevator shaft is the preferable way to get up and down because of it's speed, on the other hand the doorways are blocked for almost all of the floors, so I now prefer the stairwell and then just put iron hatches into the doorways as I go up. Oh and by the way, just wanted to mention about the speed thing also that although I think you were referring to the voice bits, just in general some info about why I decided to adjust speeds was because each episode was 8 hours of raw material. 1 hour per in-game day. I honestly can't expect anyone to watch an 8 hour video and handling such a large file would get ridiculous in both HD space and uploading times. Now what I could have (and possibly should have) done is split each episode into 1 single in-game day. Sometimes it's not so easy though, because you might be right in the middle of a fight when the "day changes" or else you might not even notice it's changed. So ending each episode with the bloodmoon felt more natural to me. Anyhow, I wish you lots of fun and luck with Dishong! It's so much more fun in DF!
@@KatsPurr That definitely makes sense. I saw the length of the video and first thought "if this is good, this will be awesome to watch" :) And it is very good. Your ability not only to play well, but to talk at the same time is amazing! When I play and things get tense, I have to shut up and focus. About the stairs... I forgot to mention I'm afraid of heights. lol.. that's another reason I've avoided the tower :) I had to close my eyes a couple times watching you jump to your steps going up the stairwell. Once during a multiplayer game one of the guys "forced" me to go up and do the construction tower. I didn't want to go and he "pushed" me. Esp walking on the top of the crane. Funny how a game can look and feel so real. Hope things are going well in Finland (from the US).

Filming the video and talking at the same time was fine for me, but boy-oh-boy, I play sooooooooooooo badly and clumsily when I'm streaming. I die over and over when streaming because I can't just fully get in the zone and focus! And it's so true, the sense of height is real in 7 days!
Hi again, did you say at one point that if you leave one item in a loot box that things will respawn properly even if you come near? If so, can it be any item, like a piece of paper or glass??? I keep getting infected and can't find any cures. Playing in vanilla so there are very few loot drops. :(
Yes, so about mid-way during this series I finally figured out and started using the "item in a container" trick. And yes, by leaving something in the container (doesn't matter what item or how many it is), it will protect the container from resetting it's respawn timer if you go near it. Once the respawn timer is up (say after 5 or 7 days or whatever you had in your game settings) simply 1) open the container 2) take the stuff out 3) close it 4) You'll see the text change to "untouched" after a second or two. 5) Then you can loot! As for vanilla, I'm doing a private game in vanilla using the dishong tower mod and I absolutely KNOW your pain!!! So little loot from the mobs and dealing with infections is dreadful since you can't go out and chop down stumps. At least in Darkness Falls you can make your own bee hives.
@@KatsPurr Thank you for that loot tip! Otherwise, it would be nearly impossible it seems. I've never played with loot spawn but it is an essential here I think. Still wondering how to get an engine or even a wrench. I am actually playing using the vanilla mod you mentioned but I can't recall much from vanilla. In a way it's kinda fun. In the mod, the tower is all that exists in a forest biome world. I am wondering about making that a desert biome so at least I may have vultures for feathers other than the roof. Anyway, good luck on your other game.
Hey Moira! Aw glad to hear it! And you know what? Once you get through this challenge, you will have become a real warrior! Before I started doing the dishong tower challenge stuff, I could NEVER have imagined playing with the difficulty settings I have now! So this does a great job at really training you to deal with difficult situations! So glad you're enjoying the challenge!
