Remember when people talk about Zach not facing top competition, remember that he also had to deal with WR''s, TE's and RB's that weren't that talented either. Did his WR's get open and have the hands of higher profile players? Probably not, yet he was able to get the ball to them, that's also part of the equation.

Yeah...I like Wilson too but no matter who you are it’s still a team sport...and that team in that division has a long way to go. At best he’ll have a Stafford kind of career: immensely talented but underrated being stuck in a dead end franchise.
I've been really high on Zach Wilson since late October. Haven't watched much Kellen Mond yet but without him on the list I'd go. 1. Wilson 2. Lawrence 3. Fields 4. Jones 5. Lance Fields and Jones are pretty close to me but I feel like Fields has better natural traits (can't evaluate their white board knowledge). Lance could be as high as 3 because of his physical traits but there's not much 2020 film of him but he's similar to Josh Allen with his high ceiling as a developing QB. Specific team situation/fit would shift how I'd view 3-5 the most.
Wilson is definitely dynamic, a great football player all around. Jets need to take him, time to move on from Sam "I see ghosts" Darnold, he has had time to prove he has the it factor and he hasn't shown it. I am guessing they will be trading him here soon so they can switch to Wilson.
Jacksonville isn’t picking Wilson over Lawrence (not saying Simms is wrong) if Lawrence pans out and Wilson doesn’t then everyone in Jacksonville is getting fired. No way Lawrence doesn’t go #1
In my humble opinion, Justin Fields is the best quarterback in the draft. Followed by Zach Wilson, Trevor Lawrence is not as great as everyone is trying to make him out to be, the ACC did not have competition. Justin Fields arm talent is far better than anyone in this draft, full stop.
Chris Simms had so many takes that were uncommon at the time and was right about most of them. His takes: - Herbert is the 2nd best QB in the 2020 draft and way better than Tua. - Haskins isn't a first round prospect, Daniel Jones is trash, Lock is better then both of them. - Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are the best two QBs in the 2018 draft, way before Mayfield and Darnold. Rosen is bad. - Patrick Mahomes is the best QB in the 2017 draft. - Wentz is better than Goff. - Carr is better than Bortles. I know this list seems outrageous, but it will probably be better than the consensus most analysts have right now (#1 Lawrence, #2 Wilson, #3 Fields, #4 Lance, #5 Jones).
@@marcellousharrell83 Anybody is better than Haskins. But his opinion of Daniel Jones < Drew Lock as of right now can be debated. Wentz > Goff is as of right now, a wash. @@gnielsen07 Which is pretty clear. If not for the Saints giving the game away in the 4th quarter, the narrative is completely different. TB's defense won them the NFC championship and SuperBowl clearly. It's ludicrous to try and claim that Brady even outplayed Mahomes in the SuperBowl, they were playing a completely different game. Of course Brady is the GOAT regardless what happened this year, but their defense, weapons, and offensive line were completely dominant.
Don't think you understand football. Controlling offense has a lot to do with how successful a defense is. Brady can sling it when necessary. He can also kill the clock, take the dink, throw arm punt interceptions.... whatever it takes to win. Defense did not win the championship... it was complementary football masterminded by the quarterback.
He knows more about QB play then most. I commend him on putting himself out there. He could have played it safe by by pushing the angle Wilson is much closer then everyone thinks but he decided to stick to his opinion knowing he’ll take heat for it.
I'd love to see Wilson succeed over Lawrence, not a Jets fan but I'd love to see the Jets win this year's draft because they didn't quit on football games.
He sees the same thing I have seen with Lawrence, he just doesn't want to say it. There's something with Lawrence, you see it take hold once he starts feeling pressure, some panic that breaks his mental concentration. Sometimes you can fix it, sometimes you get Cutler or Trubisky.
I’m honestly fine with Wilson over Lawrence.. TL never blew me away while watching him play. I’m more upset with Fields falling all the way to 5 on his list..
Fascinated by Kellen Mond as a potential mid round pick that could be a surprise starter after a Year or Two Maybe the Buccaneers could pick him up to sit behind Brady for the next couple of Years
I agree and I sad because Haksins threw mostly screen passes to wr's who would take it 30+ yards. I didn't really see him push the ball down the field and in the nfl besides maturity his biggest issue was reading NFL defenses because he never did it. Justin Fields is a better prospect but I will say he still has a lot of things to improve.
Except Justin Fields definitely produced more than Dwayne Haskins at Ohio State, and has a bigger sample size, and is mobile, which gives him a nice floor as an nfl quarterback.

This rankings won’t affect that decision. Just like when he ranked Mahomes #1 in the 2017 NFL draft didn’t affect Bears decision to pick Trubisky. Chris Simms knows what he’s talking anout
There’s no such thing as a sure thing in the NFL draft. Reggie Bush, while having a decent NFL career, was the surest of a “sure thing” as prospects go. It didn’t turn out that way. As a matter of fact, his crosstown rival at UCLA Maurice-Jones Drew had a FAR better NFL career than Bush did. And like Zach Wilson, was overshadowed by the far more vaunted college star. I’m pretty sure T-Law will be good. Just not as good as hyped. Only time will tell.
I also have Kellen Mond as a very high prospect. Idk how you can watch tape on the guy and not be. Chris didn't even mention his anticipation. Knowing who will be open. He will be the Dak type pick.
True. And Zack is laser ficussed on learning from best qbs. Watched film with hus dad his whole life even as a kid, his whole family on bith sides are extremely hard working and successful. Uncle created Jet Blue. Zack drive 12 hours each way in his own to go to a QB school Drew B and others went to by a former BYU QB in Cali. This kid is on a mission, So over time I think Zack has crazy high ceiling, He also can read Defences extremely fast per his couches.. Hangs out watching film with coaches...
Bah..everybody is different. He works on his game and watches tape. There’s a difference. Andrew Luck had outside interests too, as a serious architecture major.
I think Lawrence should be a bit lower on this list. His accuracy and ball placement is....concerning to say the least. He has a tendency to drop balls low in on recievers frames. A lot. Which in the NFL is concerning. Being off by a foot can result in an INT. Fumble or just not get the completion. He's VERY physically talented. He's like a Josh Allen. He's got ALL the physical tools you want. But he needs to clean up his mechanics a lot.
Except he’s not low by a foot very often, and I don’t really see the accuracy issues much. Yeah, he’s not perfectly accurate on absolutely everything, but neither was Joe Burrow, and he’s more accurate than anyone behind him in this list except maybe Mac Jones and maybe Zach Wilson.
Wow Chris. I am shocked by this but you're the man. I was high on Fields but you just shut me up. You're my favorite evaluator, but I look forward to what they'll turn out to be in the future. I wish them the best as well.
I think Mond is as good as Simms thinks. He's spot on with AnM offense, it's as predictable as any in cfb, nobody runs it anymore the way Jimbo does. And with all that Mond only had 3 ints this year and he lit up SB once he got going with an open pro offense and got the MVP too boot.

He’s essentially just throwing a dart and hoping he gets lucky.
1. Wilson
2. Lawrence
3. Fields
4. Jones
5. Lance
Fields and Jones are pretty close to me but I feel like Fields has better natural traits (can't evaluate their white board knowledge). Lance could be as high as 3 because of his physical traits but there's not much 2020 film of him but he's similar to Josh Allen with his high ceiling as a developing QB. Specific team situation/fit would shift how I'd view 3-5 the most.
ua-cam.com/video/rJqi9z3GNxY/v-deo.html
Wilson is definitely dynamic, a great football player all around. Jets need to take him, time to move on from Sam "I see ghosts" Darnold, he has had time to prove he has the it factor and he hasn't shown it. I am guessing they will be trading him here soon so they can switch to Wilson.
Trevor Lawrence was always the pick

In my humble opinion, Justin Fields is the best quarterback in the draft. Followed by Zach Wilson, Trevor Lawrence is not as great as everyone is trying to make him out to be, the ACC did not have competition. Justin Fields arm talent is far better than anyone in this draft, full stop.
I think you've been watching the wrong games.
Chris Simms had so many takes that were uncommon at the time and was right about most of them. His takes:
- Herbert is the 2nd best QB in the 2020 draft and way better than Tua.
Actually he went on Twitter and said he liked Jones a lot and missed that evaluation

Dwayne Haskins will hurt Justin Fields draft position.
but don't you know thats stupid and silly to do? scouts need to know better better smh if he does....
I forgot about Haskins

An NFL team can't take Wilson over Lawrence though, he's a sure thing and is just so much bigger
They can, but for Jacksonville Lawrence makes more sense. He is more less local, jersey sales, hype maker etc. Jaguars needs that stuff. Plus Urban Meijer probably wants to have Lawrence.

If it was my choice I would take Zach Wilson over Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson’s upside is through the roof!
“Kellen Mond is a great decision maker” I definitely have to disagree with that. His decision making is probably what he is worst at
I think Mond is as good as Simms thinks. He's spot on with AnM offense, it's as predictable as any in cfb, nobody runs it anymore the way Jimbo does. And with all that Mond only had 3 ints this year and he lit up SB once he got going with an open pro offense and got the MVP too boot.
