- In this video, I brought in 4 producers and I gave them only 10 minutes to flip the exact same sample! We are going to learn what is the difference between an amateur bedroom producer vs an experienced industry producer!

New producers, don’t let this fool you. Take your time to perfect your beats. You don’t need to rush
that's not the point of the video but valid statement. don't worry about perfection just get it done and keep trucking
What do you think is a perfect beat? Therr's no such thing as perfect beat since music is subjective. sometimes, beats that sounds messy are one of the rawest sound I've heard.
Fact 💯
yes but also dont be lazy about organizing sounds and presets, it really does take you to another level and it doesnt really take that long. you can always reorganize later if you dont like your current system. dont think aboout it too much
correct its just for fun like if u make 1 beat one day you can achive many new techniques thats how i like to do it
Its been 4 years producing and i still think of myself as a beginner coz with music production you always learn
That’s right. Learning is part of the process.
And youll later find that you are still kind of fresh in this dont mean to discourage but youre at that point where everything amazes you, even me 8 years into it when i was at your point there was a ton of shit i didnt know that i do now, with that said, the things that became most important to me was the things that became second nature to me because those are skills you dont learn overnight like the one guy in the video who talks about having set ways to do things sometimes it can be limiting of creativity or it increase workflow by sooooooo much and help you finish songs quicker instead
Same bro. It feels like the more i learn the less i know lol.
True man, I'm still learning the shortcuts on my DAW.
Well that is the reality there are so many genres and sub-genres your 'style' is always changing ... Once you reach the top you can only go down.
For beginners:
Try a lot of different styles and instruments. Instead of dragging and dropping and cherry picking your drum sounds, try using a VST (or FPC if you have FL Studio) that has the entire kit ready in one instrument track. Maybe instead of trap or rap you try orchestral music or even synth wave. Experimentation comes with a lot of experience. After you gain enough experience, you could choose a few types of music you like to make best. Or you could do what I do and make whatever you want.
Real, also don’t be afraid to leave your comfort zone, it’s where you’ll learn the most.
just do whatever you want for a long time and you'll become good at it.
I have been producing for like an year, a lot of my tracks are trap but I feel very good when I make something which is not trap...
I like to experiment with stuff like once I made a heavenly, sweet track and tried getting a drill beat to work on it... Recently I tried the House and synthwave genres and it's fun to get out of your zone and try stuff out...
Damn im producing for 2 years now. But not everday and i stopped. Cuz i feel liked im stuck. Any tips for me?
@@sparcomusic887 try listening to other types of music, and maybe even play a few games to either relax or inspire your next track. Though if it ever comes down to it, I recommend just forcing yourself to do it. Might tell your inner self “hey I’m still good at this”. (This has happened a lot to me)
Was super fun being on this one my man!
great collab! you both make great content🔥
@@C0MB00 thanks man!
loved ur beat
25 times platinum is crazy lol
cxdy is just him
ikr
crazy how simon used his voice to make that loop bro
New producers didn’t think about the artist that may want to get on it. I’d say that was the #1 distinct difference besides the speed/confidence at producing. Awesome video as always 🤙🏼
fr ppl on yt make cool beats but they are mostly unrappable and just demonstrations of what they can do. artists need sumn cool , simple and that works, most of the time
But does it really have to be rap?? it can be a standalone track on its own
10 minutes for that much is wild. it takes me 10 minutes to find the sounds i want lmao
I’m still working on speeding up my workflow after 5 years
bro said he uses Gross beat here and there.. don’t lie to us.. you slap that shit on everything😂
😂
😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Don't sound so excited to introduce me
Don’t want to diss Edtalenti and Kyle, but you and Simon are definitely the best UA-cam producers.
Would have been cool if you had also tagged the small producers in the description
Only way that's cool is if they didn't have any but seeing that the "pros" are there but not the younger new guys is a bummer. Idk why he would not represent all who helped him make his content.
@@quazisciencerecordings considering the one guy only started making beats 2 weeks ago I'm gonna guess he doesn't like produce any content or has any music released to link to or anything lol i mean could link to his like personal twitter page ig?? but that's a little out of place next to two actual content creators
a real bummer, mentioning only the people that are known 💀
@tycimaglio9222 you assume. Which isn't cool either. What about the 2 year guy. I'd lay money on he's got a soundcloud. So yeah if not that a fb link is appropriate... using people for content and only hooking up your "pros" isn't cool. Period.
@tycimaglio9222 the original post has 32 thumbs up... so yeah, folks agree... would have been cool to hook up the little guys too.
Can we talk about how the sample Simon chopped up was incredible 😭
2 weeks of production experience vs 25x platinum 💀 in what world is this fair
Simon I really wanna thank you for this video my G. I’ve been producing 2 years now and seeing this really has inspired me in many ways with sound selections and designs
this is amazing, these new producers are talented! let them learn, cook and try stuff out. if they keep at it they are gonna be a force to be reconed with :)
hi Simon, I just want to thank you because for now more than 5 years you have been entertaining me and always teaching me something new. I started producing before following you but from the moment I saw your video I really started to fall in love with music. although you have matured along with your channel, you have always managed to remain original in your content while retaining your humor which makes learning more enjoyable. I hope for you in an ever bigger future because you really deserve it and I hope you never stop bringing us your videos because no one could imitate you. unfortunately at the moment I don't have the possibility to support you by purchasing your course but I will do my best to do it as soon as possible. sorry for the length of the message. "if you liked my message leave a heart, if you really liked it leave a comment, if you didn't like it just leave, leave, get outta here!"
greetings from Stefano aka AtmosphereOMG from Italy. 👽
Let's go Simon! Such motivational stuff for if I have beat block yet also very entertaining - as per usual. KEEP IT UP!
man i still remember that video where cxdy did his first collab with simon and was super excited and all because he looked up to simon. now he has surpassed him by a mile in success. they grow up so fast ...
As a Producer myself I’d have to say this video was very informative!
anyone who can help me with beat plz let's negotiate
@@jibrinSolomonyo i could help u ive been making beats since i was 11 if u got discord or sum for a call lmk
It's insane that this guy had only 2 weeks of experience and did that. I mean i figured out in like a week how to click in notes LMFAO
kxvi is so sick, hes so honest and real when it comes to the industry side of things, idk him well as a producer idk any of his songs but i learn the profit side of things from him while cxdy has helped me more with dumbing my shit down making sure i havent got too many elements, he says to get each of your melodies and play it with the drums or something like that and if its good on its own itll be good in a song but kxvi taught me about earning more money from my released music and how to make money selling melody kits and stuff
I need to hear more of Cxdy beat 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I absolutely love the vocal sample! I remember the short you released and i had that on repeat for at least 1 hour.
Don't know what it is about those bitcrushed vocals but they get me going!
one of your best videos to date ❤
The one thing that separates the top 100 on Spotify and complete flops of songs are just the melody itself. I think you should do a melody/songwriting challenge. Then we can really see the difference. Especially Because most hits are recycled melodies from other songs.
Facts
I love the spin cody put on the beat 🔥🔥🔥
Still working. Awesome job!!! Thanks A LOOOOOOOT!
For the new producers experiment have fun enjoy the journey have fun find your sound and perfect it simple 🤘🏾

The guy who only started producing for two weeks is genuinely good, like I’m amazed he just started and he already how to tweak and what to do. Honestly it’s all about experience
9:44 this is exactly why I like watching cxdy work lol.
Hay servida, kaka inspire lahat ng pinag gagawa mo 😤

Best advice from a producer who's on 100+million streams. Do loops full time 👍🏼

The expect bass was just 🔥 like how he changed it to more hip-hop/trap style
Cody’s beat is insane 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is why cxdy is my favorite
The moment Simon said hyperpop, the shorts of him doing vocal chops came to my mind instantly

Ayo Genuwine is killin it. I’m also from okc just learning production
Simon do you realize you're becoming the Don of the music producing world?
Hop of it bro

Aiden's mic is optimal to rage at games into. I wanna hear a full force scream into that bad boy
cxdy snapped tho 💢💢
Simon did hyperpop some justice 🙏
cxdy killed it as usual (yes i'm a fanboy)
Great video, no matter what daw, Work On Your Craft, what ever you feel better with, OWN THAT SHIT 😇
i love cxdy man
Would've loved to hear the full end results
same but i guess they don't know what people want
Probably came out trash and everyone agreed to scrap it 😂
@@prod.bylvwlee HAHAH PERHAPS
One thing I wish I had learned early on is; only hard core experimental nerds and other producers can pick out or care about your perfect bleep or bloop. Learn when the mix is good enough and make beats, don't get caught up engineering everything.
Last one killed it .
simon that shirt is FIRE
Just be yourself time will make u prefect beginners producer
Nice video, cheers from Germany
Nice idea bro.
Good stuff!
I want to get in on the next challenge!
I'm feeling inspired...🎶
Damn u take you time making does videos. When they come out tho they are noice.
Cxdy' s one is my favourite here
I was supposed to be in this video 😢 Simon thought what I gave him didn’t fit. All good tho! Happy others got the spotlight!
This first sample was craaaazy 🔥🔥🏂🦾

I would like to do a tutorial video with you on Amapiano. It's a genre that comes from South Africa. Its really popping in other countries.

Amapiano ❤❤❤❤
an amazing sample! add an amen break and enjoy!!
I am not trying to be picky but I would have loved to seen this done on Protools, Cubase or Ableton 😂😂
