What good came from Communism was it pushed Capitalist nations to have to moderate in favor of the working class. Just look at the last 110 years; whenever a Capitalist (let's just go with the US) government became afraid of Communism, had a Red Scare, the rights, wages, and economic middle class was at its most robust. At the height of McCarthyism the US middle class was at its strongest and the avg. home cost ~2.5x the avg. annual salary. When the fear of communism/Marxism is at its lowest (actual, real desire of the people to be communist, not a vocal tiny, minority) then Capitalism runs amok and the middle class is at its smallest. Communism served as a great bogyman to force politicians to make Capitalist oligarchs to moderate and reduced their wealth and power. China could be that now but they are not actually pro worker in the least as we all know the fresh hell of slavery our phones, shoes, and clothes come from. Actual communism works to moderate predatory capitalist. Actual capitalism works in its greatest asset is labor, free, educated, and capable labor, which works to spur revolution in despotic, strongmen areas of the world and moderate them in communist/totalitarian states. I believe both are needed for the optimal society.
