California to eliminate electric car rebate program, shift focus to low-income buyers

California is eliminating its popular electric car rebate program. The Clean Vehicle Rebate Project has been around since 2010 but will end when it runs out of money this year. The focus will shift to help low-income car buyers in the Golden State. Officials said there is a disparity over who owns an electric vehicle in California. For the last 13 years, It's mostly higher-income families.
