    Thanks for all the positive comments,
    This clip only possible because of my Wife's hard work editing.
    And having the assistance of Brian as Uke/Tori.

      I'm so glad! And this is one of our old, low quality videos, so your dedication to your training is amazing! Well done on your well-deserved orange belt, and we are honoured to be part of your journey :)

    Love the video got to the same place as you independently, it makes sense after all. I appreciated the identification of inside and outside which you don't hear often in Goku. After watching the video, I saw a few extra openings and extensions. Looking forward to viewing your other videos.

    Had to come rewatch this after today's lesson. You can really see the secret blocks in action, they are easier to remember when you see them working. It's awesome!

    A great demonstration sensei. although I might not agree with some of the bunkai that I see from other styles, I never rule it out. It all has value.

      Ah, thank you so much! And this is such an old, kind of crappy video of ours - I hope you've found some of our newer stuff with better production value!
      We definitely should look for as many intepretations of a move as we can, for we never know which one will resonate with us, or show us exactly what we *don't* want.
      Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment!

    We you be doing an advanced bunkai of geksai dai ichi and ni? When I practise, i usually go off a hook punch, because an untrained fighter is more likely to swing than throw a straight punch.
    So I use the face block, the punch to the face or other vital area (at the same time) this is on the inside, so naturally it feels natural to use the pull back as an arm drag, then you can use the arm as a shield, then the lower block either as a strike or throw. Just want to see your views on advanced bunkai, because you are a good teacher

      Hi
      Definitely it’s sound principles, and the more you work it the better it gets,
      Love the fact you continue to move three,
      My friend used change of directions to develop pulls and throws and moves to ground
      Thanks again for sharing

    Hello, i'm beginner and i'm trying to learn bunkai for gekisai dai ichi. This is a wonderfull video but i noticed that on the first move, you are doing the jodan age uke on the exterior side, but when i'm watching other video (like morio higaonna one) he's doing it on the interior of the opponent. What's the reason of these differences ?

    • @GojuRyuKarateCentre
      @GojuRyuKarateCentre  3 роки тому +1

      Hello!
      There are tons of variations for each move, because each variation is a different technique/answer. If you look at this video of ours: ua-cam.com/video/nc1aa905Z00/v-deo.html
      you'll see 8 variations for that opening move.
      We've also done some oyo bunkai on Geki 1 and 2 as well. ua-cam.com/video/jZeq_k3LY28/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/ajcrlq6NJB4/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/MR0GFs_ujy0/v-deo.html.
      Hope this helps! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment 🙇

    Your version of this kata has no foot sweep with the shuto?

    • @GojuRyuKarateCentre
      @GojuRyuKarateCentre  2 роки тому +1

      Hello!
      The foot sweep is in the bunkai, but only implied in the kata with a very small lifting of the foot, rather than sweeping with the foot up to knee level. In our branch of Goju, the foot sweeps are more subtle and kept for more advanced bunkai.
