It boils down to this. Without a strong talent for melodies, there is no use. And if you are talented, you don't need tools.

I have to disagree, yo can develop talent. You could use this as a way to learn what strong melodies are, get inspired, maybe take lessons and pick up a keyboard but you're still gonna have to have the ears to discern what is a good melody and even then that's relative.
