    Five in ten minutes? I can do that...! Because I already have all your software! ;) They might not be as good as yours, of course - I'm not as practiced yet. :)

    Interesting.
    But 4 bars do not make a song, and barely a song part.

    1 - Is is possible to write a piano part that would be actually playable by a real pianist? 80's Rock, R&B, Jazz style?
    2 - I'm a singer without the ability to play instruments well enough to record what I hear in my mind. How can this help me?

    • @feelyoursoundHQ
      @feelyoursoundHQ  7 років тому +1

      1) Yes, this is possible. But you will need to know how a typical piano part in these styles is performed. Sundog won't automatically do a "Jazz style" piano for you. Please take a look at ua-cam.com/video/JMSVuQQHA2w/v-deo.html as well.
      2) Sundog makes songwriting easier by reducing the complexity of some tasks. For example, it's very easy to create some nice chord progressions with it: Select a scale of your choice and Sundog will show you some chord-buttons. They all fit to your scale, so you simply need to click around until you find a progression that sounds nice to you. After that, you can create basslines etc that automatically follow your chords (I do this a lot in the video).
      However, Sundog is no auto accompaniment software. It won't write a song for you in a certain genre. It's more like a specialized MIDI sequencer where you work with "musical rhythms". These rhythms will get applied to your chord notes and scale notes to create fitting melodies.
      I highly recommend to check out the demo: feelyoursound.com/sundog/
      It will allow you to test the whole concept on your own computer.
      Cheers,

    Very cool app! I bought it and do not regret it! One thing saddens me, that it is made for electronic musicians. I hope in the future the application will develop for all musicians. I wish successful development of this project. With love from Russia!=)

    Watched it with a big smile, hard to believe it can be done until you watch the entire video! Even though the examples are a bit 'emblematic' it is easy to understand that having laid the foundation, tweaking and enhancing them in your DAW is just going to be fun and not something daunting. Having bought both Sundog and ChordPotion and you generously giving us updates, new tutorials, chord progressions and presets it is a rare example of music software in the category "The gift that keeps on giving". The only fear I have now that you suddenly stop developing software and you have 'time bombed' these wonderful programs, but until then I'll keep on using these tools, punching w-e-l-l above my keyboard & music theory skill levels!

    • @feelyoursoundHQ
      @feelyoursoundHQ  4 роки тому +1

      Hehe, yes, some of these styles were a compromise between time restrictions and nailing down the genre, but in the end this was part of the fun ;)
      There are still quite a few ideas for Sundog and ChordPotion that I want to implement, so no worries ;). And I want to keep on adding packages and tutorials as well.

      @@@feelyoursoundHQ I couldn't make those genre exhibits in ten hours, let alone 10 minutes! When I tried to at least repeat what you were doing in this video, I noticed a) you have the Hihat also on midi chan 10 b) you can't drag those 15 midi channels (Piano to Melo 3 in your example) to 15 (midi channel prepared) clips in Ableton when any of the midi channels/instruments is empty (e.g. channel 9 with '808'). It took me 30 minutes to figure out that you have to give unused instruments (i.e. Sundog midi channels) some pseudo content with "Fill editor with basic sequence" in order to drag all 15 midi channels in their proper order to the DAW. You won't have this problem when your Ableton tracks exactly match the number of used Sundog instruments and their midi channels. Anyway, never stumbled upon this problem before preparing 15 tracks in Ableton emulating what you show us in your video and (simply put) "trying to drag Sundog 15 to Ableton 15".

    • @feelyoursoundHQ
      @feelyoursoundHQ  4 роки тому

      @@vampiremaffia Oh yes, channel order can be a hassle sometimes. I wish there was a way to tell Ableton to "always put MIDI track 3 on this-and-that channel" for each import. But in the end, doing it manually or working with some small tricks like you mentioned is also OK.

    I would love to have the basic guidelines to make my favorite 20 GENRES: . House, French Melodic Techno, Berlin Melodic Techno, and the style of music of my 20 favorite musicians. to fully understand how every genre and every music I love is made. What do you suggest me to do to learn this? The document you produced and this video helps me with 5 genres, but I need more.

    • @feelyoursoundHQ
      @feelyoursoundHQ  5 років тому +1

      I would recommend to concentrate on two or three genres first. Especially genres that sound differently. Try to re-build or remix some already existing tracks and find out what songwriting rules apply here. After a while you will be able to analyze music much faster than before. At this point, diving into other genres will become easier.

      @@feelyoursoundHQ Thank you... Isn't there a guide somewhere that tells you the key points on how to do every genre?. I have seen some things but I was wondering if there is a good place that makes you a summary of all the major genres.

      I just got and idea.. they sell Ableton templates.. by looking at a template you can see how it is made and get the idea. But any other help might be good..

      @@andreumateulamas Yes, this is a good way! There are also quite a few MIDI kits available for different genres. They are a good way to learn as well.
