The no boil recipes are my favorite. The NEIPA 30 min no boil you guys did before is my friends and families favorite

Awesome video. This gives me an idea for an additional year end brew. I just hate throwing away ingredients that still have some potential. Every year I do what I call "Yard Sale Ale" to get rid of malts and hops I might normally throw away if left to age much longer. This added year end brew can be a more hop centric reduction of sorts. Despite the age on the ingredients, Yard Sale Ale has always been quite remarkable. Cheers.

I brewed this on Saturday. Very tasty going into the fermenter. First time I've had to rig together a blow off tube, this morning I had krausen halfway up the tube!

Lol was there an onion on the countertop? Is that where Steve got his description of the beer? Don't let people drag you down James. We know you don't swear and if you did you would cut that in post production. Keep it up with all the great content guys. Cheers.

Hi. Really liked the videos. Is this method more suited to the NEIPA style or do you get “regular” bitterness if you add bittering hop.

This is a great technique for NEIPA-style beers. - James

All grain brewer here ,Going to attempt this , what do you think about adding a pound of Bavarian wheat extract , to bump abv and flavor . I also was thinking of splitting the batch and using white labs 001 and white labs London fog yeast for the other. The hops I currently have are azaaca, ctz and Pekko. Thanks can’t wait to try this.

I got a brew question. I'm thinking about doing a kit of a Brewers best Kolsch beer. I plan on attempting to redo this kit in a 5 gallon batch with orange blossom Honey, sweet orange peel corriandier and switch out the Nottingham yeast for wyeast 2565 Kolsch yeast. I'm. Curious how a lemon drop hop added to this style would turn out. How strong of a flavor profile does that hop produce. Would it be better for a flavor or aroma for a Honey Kolsch? Ideally I was going for a orange and honey flavor but maybe the lemondrop may add a unique touch. I'm not going for style. I'm going for something different with the style.

I have a small batch Lemondrop hop sampler in the fermenter now for the next Hop Sampler show on BBR. We haven't tasted it yet. I'd try a couple of ounces as a hop stand after the end of the boil for a five-gallon batch. Maybe one ounce if you want more subtlety. Let me know how it turns out. - James

Cluster! Don't see that used very often. Quite a conglomeration you've got there. I may have to give that no-boil method a try, very interesting. Any thoughts on using that yeast vs a cleaner (chico) strain? Were you able to pick up that London |||/Juice goodness?

I've been really happy with Juice on these hop stand beers. Haven't tried a side-by-side, although I do use US 05 for the small batch Hop Sampler beers. - James

I’m looking forward to trying this! Is there no concern about bugs due to not boiling for 10 minutes? Obviously I will clean and sterilize my equipment. But, what about the wort? I love your videos and experiments. You are concise and entertaining. I really enjoy the info and laughs. Cheers guys!

Glad you like our stuff! Since the wort is so hot during the hop stand, there shouldn't be any sanitization worries. For this batch, after sitting for 30 minutes after shutting off the heat, my wort was still at 179F (82C). - James

Well the extract is sterile in the first place and he is holding the wort at just below boiling for 30 min so that should pasteurized anything that came in with the water or hops.
