On wider maps Casper is really good at catching flanking squads. As someone that is not a strong killer I feel I helps the players that are good at shooting get the drop on players that are flanking and hideing
Two years later, Casper in Breakthrough as a frontline operator is still broken and incredible. I have won so many games of Breakthrough as Casper because I’m able to spot everyone on the enemy team, and basically not allow any defenders to rat and not allow any attackers to flank without my team knowing. He’s still imo the god operator on Breakthrough
I love this operator....operating his drone is so much fun. I don't even use him as a sniper....I only do recon stuff with him. And if the enemy comes I lit them up with the AEK971 or that thing that looks like the Vintorez.
Tbh i don’t feel like Casper’s drone ability is as powerful as any other specialist ability.. its just a spotting drone.. they should have added the MAV as a gadget anyone can use and think of a better ability for Casper
He has a Ghillie Suit and Drones can make the operator himself very immobile, depending on the implementation. I think everybody's first thought was "typical campy Sniper". I also believe that he was intended to be more of the typical Sniper even though in actuality his kit doesn't fit well for a Sniper. In Apex, Crypto also has drone which mashes very well with a Sniper/Marksmen playstyle.
I camp with Casper all the time. I let the drone do the moving lmao. I've just finished two matches at the top of the leaderboard because I camped and spotted all game.
In my opinion, and I've T1'd Casper (not the only specialist I've t1'd), I use Casper only for tank removal by use of drone/C-5 work. I've lead the leader board in vehicle kills 9 times with this technique. Now a days, I really just go to Casper when I feel land based vehicles are out of control or our side isn't dealing well with them. And since the terrain on most maps is so wide open, vehicles have a distinct advantage over my preferred, foot soldier mode of play, I resort often to Casper. (Heh, also use Casper Drone/C-5 for pesky good snipers).
Glad they didn't remove caspers c5 drone but only nerfed it. Your still able to land your checky kills but you have to work for it and your enemy has to be braindead. For his flying, I enjoy being able to step on the drone for use as a ladder. And the evil part of me loves flying up a camp spot to sneakly take put enemies. But it definitely should go. Being so high no one can see you unless they 10x scope you is lame. I will always main Casper
I play Casper as a spotter, I launch my drone on breakthrough and spot till it gets destroyed. I snag 5 kills with my sniper before my drone comes back. Easy no.1 on the leaderboard.
Hehe….Casper no.1 when getting tanks firing from base, or when nobody is able to get them, snipers firing from base or other funny, funny situations. Some people try to have FUN, not k/d, man. And for fun, Casper is no. 1
He reminds me of crypto from apex just more...stiff idk how to describe it to you. If you see crypto gameplsy from players like iburi the overall playstyle is the same. With the class changes coming in 3.2 do you think he'd still be viable in this playstyle?
exactly my thoughts too, i main crypto on apex so i automatically decided to play casper, and well its definitely a different playstyle it is similar enough to get the hang of pretty quick
@@lloffubread Really? I also main both characters but I have a different play style with them. I think the drones make both characters relatively immobile. With Crypto I'm always using Sniper Rifles, with Casper I'm using a stealth close range build. Both play styles are cautious and slow though.

Personally i like to use caspers drone with a soflam and fly myself into the stratosphere and annoy helicopters and jets

He can find the enemy trying to back cap your flags easily. Especially cause your teammates won’t put any effort searching

Took forever to get my red skin and now that redacted has come along rau is 1000 spots away and in only 3 days.
*Is it only Squadmates, who can see your spots with drone? Or is it all teammates?
All teammates can. The problem is tho, no one will actually see them because they just don’t care.

If you havent figured it out yet, as i see you commented a month ago. You have to get the drone extremely close to the target.
