Thanks! I used your video to replace my screen! :) I like that you go slowly... I was actually able to keep up on the reassembly and didn't have to pause too much on the dissassembly. I also like that you describe as you go what each part is. Thanks alot!

I've watched a couple of different Nexus 5 teardown videos, and this one is by far the most professional and complete. I found it especially interesting to hear what the different parts and contacts are for, even though it's not really necessary for something like a screen replacement. Just interesting geek stuff.
Thanks for making and publishing this video.

I don't know why your video does not come up top of the list - took me a little while to find it again - it's so good. I think I've used it about eight times now to change screens and batteries. I quite like the Nexus 5 and I've probably had 8 of them - I buy two old ones for £25 each and make one good one using your video - which explains absolutely everything. Thanks. Love the pace you go at, love the way you point out what every item is. Sound is clear and you are so close - it really is quite rare to come across a 'how to' video this good. Thanks again.

Dude, you saved my phone. It dropped into the toilet in the morning, after work I tore it down and left all parts dry for a day. After that, I built everything together again and it worked again.
    Thanks for this video!

Thanks sir, recently bought a Nexus 5 used, and couldn't get reception at all. Tried everything, software fixes, different sims, etc. I was ready to return it to the seller. Watched this vid, and decided to give it a shot to see if the antenna at all damaged/disconnected. Low and behold one of the antennas was disconnected. Reconnected it, and the phone works now like a champ. Thanks to you I got it working =)

Hi there, if you still remember me, I am the guy with the nokia n8 problem and who thanked you for the galaxy note 10.1 tutorial and nowi am having the nexus 5 d821 32gb. I still have my n8 which I myself repaired it and galaxy note still going on good. Just incase if I had any problem with my nexus 5, which, so far, I have not experienced, becomes very helpful to me, your video should be a learning guide. Kuddos

This is awesome video. I had to replace my broken glass completely, I bought the screen by ~$100 and went through this video and everything fall into place. Just he could actually mention the battery needs to be handled carefully otherwise it might cause damage and sparks. Those who does not have the heating machine (shown) for removing the glass, you can use any kind of heating source (I used my burner's flame from little height) to loose the adhesive, and it worked ...

Read this if you want to order [ pentru ROMANI - cititi ] I ordered from this site from the link in the description the display with frame and it arrived some 4-5 days after I placed the order. The screen came in great condition and the replacement went very well. One more thing I have to add because I didn`t see it in your description and it challenged me for 5 minutes at least : when you take the speaker from the earpiece out, make sure to take the spacer also, because (in my case) the frame came without that spacer and I placed the earpiece without it and it did not make contact with the main board so I could not hear the person I was talking to on the phone. Overall the phone looks and feels brand new now. Very pleased with the screen and the tutorial, thank you! The following text is for the people that order it from Romania (as in my case) regarding some unmentioned fees from the transport company:mie mi-a venit prin DHL, nu prin posta romana, asa ca cei de la DHL au un tarif de 100 lei pentru achitarea taxelor vamale in locul vostru, plus taxele vamale care au fost in jur de 52 RON.

One thing I just learned about screen replacement for the Nexus 5: When replacing the rear housing (back cover/plate), there's a clip in the middle, about two-thirds of the way up that needs to be attached, otherwise wireless charging will not work. To fix, once the cover is attached, simply apply pressure in the middle of the back, about 2/3 of the way up until you hear a snap. Done.

Great video, I just successfully replaced my screen and I have absolutely no experience with this kind of work.
Just one thing that might help others: I bought my screen + frame from AliExpress, and at least mine did not come with the little frame where the earpiece is placed (see it at 20:15). So I also had to remove it from the old phone frame (using a screwdriver, really easy) and put in the new one (at first I didn't do it, and hence the earpiece did not work).
Congratulations on the great video, and thank you a lot!

Excellent. my 5 WiFi had gone a while back then Bluetooth failing...hitting the phone worked but then it started going into loop shut down. I read about the OVEN treatment for the motherboard but never liked this idea so once apart the heatgun was about 400c ran it all over the board (tested on solder first to see how long before it melted) and first assembly...everything is working as it should. Fingers crossed and CHEERS!
