Eh, I’m comfortable with it now. I was confused for years and was hard as hell but when I made sense of it all it mostly washed away. It was more fear of loved ones following lots of harassment, so it didnt show like what Nick is showing. But I did basically have a psychotic break after not sleeping for two weeks. I appreciate your compassion
I feel like there are 2 main takeaways from this season... 1) Life is complicated af and being on reality TV doesn't de-complicate anything. and 2) Being with Scotty is enough to make any woman appreciate the hell out of literally ANY other man. 😂
I agree, if there are any issues in the relationship and then come on this show you are bringing in extra problems that are not needed. These new problems would have never occurred if they took the time to work on their relationship without cameras and this show🙁.
the only reason Scotty backed down from berating and accusing Zaina is that she is strong and called him on his BS. Aria doesn't know how to do that yet, not that there's any reason to stay around and interact with this type of selfish, damaging person. This is toxicity manifest
I agree! We probably wont be able to share some opinions about this until Ep8 but Ive got some thoughts on things and dont want to spoil our 7 reaction
Scotty saying "this is a yes or no question" is gross, controlling and a TEXTBOOK crazy-making question. Sir, she can answer the damn question in any way she chooses, if she chooses to answer it at all. She could also respond "why are you asking ME what YOU said?" The question is both an accusation and a trap. She loses either way and he wins either way. If she says no, then he feels like she is on the narcissist train, and has given up her right to say I know you don't like him and you've made that clear. If she says yes, then he gets to attack her and tell her she's wrong and a liar (in his world view). Run from this type of person as fast as you can
In Aria's defence, idk if you noticed, but she's obliquely mentioned fears with men and specifically physical touch. She also spoke on having toxic relationships and what happens when you get out of those (I legitimately didn't see that as a dig towards Maria, I heard it as "I've been there, girl"). So I think that someone with Caleb's energy feels extremely healing to her. She didn't say where or what caused those fears, I have a couple guesses, but I do not think she showed up badly. Ngl, I AM rooting for Caleb and Aria. I think they're really good together and seem to be, from what we're shown, very mindful of each other's vulnerable sides. Like they're careful with one another and in this season it's such a breath of fresh air. I would have watched a whole season of those two in a trial marriage. I think a lot of the issues that came up this season could have been avoided if the couples were all staying in different areas. It's probably for production reasons, to make it easier on the filming crew, but it also almost encourages "chance" encounters between the couples in a way that just leads to people being too much in each other's business. imho they should ALL have blocked their "exes" during the trial.
23:45 guyyyyssss Scotty is abusive…so glad you guys have each other and you don’t have to experience it. But he is textbook abuser. Silent treatment. Projection. Deflection. Gaslighting. Using circular logic. Defensiveness. Picking fights. Trying to make someone question their own reality. Then just being utterly disrespectful and insulting when all the mind games aren’t working and the person is going to leave. The only reason it hasn’t escalated is because Zaina is just refusing to take the bait. Thank god she has self esteem.
The way Scotty grabbed Zaina's wrist after the first argument was scary. It showed that he *will* physically intimidate a woman until he gets what he wants.
Bruh I feel like walking on eggshells when Scotty’s on my SCREEN. Roxiie pointed out that he only starts REALLY crashing out at women and other people he doesn’t see as a threat (Caleb). But wouldn’t bring that energy to JR, who is his main enemy lol
he had multiple stencil marks on his arm, he had to have seen it. maybe he did mix up the meanings but i find it hard to believe due to latin similarities to english, literally the same word shows up in both translations
Unfortunately, the dating scene is swarming with Scotties…you have to have your radar on at all times. Also, I feel like JR thinks the trial relationship is an actual relationship rather than just an experiment to test your love for your ACTUAL partner lol…he’s been acting like it’s Love is Bind since day 1 😅😂
Mariah struck me as a little two faced. She supported Nick to his face but told Sandy behind his back that he wouldn't make a good husband. I'd respect her more if she told Nick she doesn't think he's ready for marriage.
@@membriashI think it’d be fine for her to say she doesn’t think he’s ready for xzy reasons to nick without being two face about it. Mitch, going to show you some ❤ cuz it is really hard to compete with those great space buns but loving your beard growth. The dark on your face is making you pop!
I'd rather just watch the original couples get counseling than having them do the trial marriage thing. That just compounds the psychological torture. I just hope everyone gets the help they need!
This season is so triggering & such an emotional rollercoaster, us as viewers may need to check in with our therapist as well. I hope everyone is doing okay.
While rewatching, I noticed that JR clearly told Scotty it wasnt Sandy, but when asked if it was Zaina that spoke to him JR opted to not clearly state it wasnt Zaina. Whether it was Zaina or not, I find it disgusting that JR knowingly sent Scotty back to Zaina with that suspiciousion & bad energy. JR is trash.
I don't think is fair to blame JR for Scotty's behavior and by saying this we are stating that indirectly. Scotty reacting like that is on him, not JR, Sandy or Zaina.
@gloriaherrera9876 I'm not blaming JR for Scotty's behavior. I'm blaming JR for not considering Zaina, the person he has been with for 3 years. He chose to clear Sandy's name immediately, but when asked about Zaina, he left a question mark. He is trash for not considering whether he is putting Zaina in an awkward position. He protected Sandy, not Zaina, in this moment.
Honestly if the 3 creators I love watching (you guys, Roxiie and Tait's Take) were not commenting I would probably have stopped watching! The season is not fun to watch :(
I agree with yall so hard re Nick. I definitely relate to how he feels, I have depression with stress induced psychotic symptoms. I've probably looked like that before. I'd hate to see it on film. He's definitely not a good guy but the last episode was so hard to watch I almost had a panic attack
Im not sure if you guys have mentioned this yet, but ive seen a few people say that they recognize Zaina from another TV show (will come back and edit this when i remember) as the best friend of a main character, and Zaina has also been on a podcast a few times, never mentioned or seen of JR . Apparently!
Forgive me if ya'll have already seen it, but The Ultimatum season 2 (with straight people lol) felt WORSE to me, there was minor physical assault with one couple, most of the couples were more grating than entertaining to watch. I'm def with y'all about this season having a lot of emotionally intense to abusive people, and we can totally have empathy and this show (and Love is Blind) should 100% send in therapists kinda like Married at First Sight does.
Imo, Nick is self-destructive in his abuse, and Scotty is destructive to others in his. They’re both abusive to their partners, but they direct it differently. If that even makes any sense??? lol. I’ve been on medication for bipolar disorder for over 10 years now, and unfortunately I see a lot of myself pre-help in Nick’s behavior. He will not change until he actually seeks out professional help, and I really hope he does. Thank you guys for being vulnerable 🫶
“You and me… sexy time?” 😂 Aria is getting a glimpse of what a healthy interaction looks like between two partners. Caleb is great but we are comparing him to Scotty’s toxicity. Caleb definitely shines. On Tait’s Take I think he summed up Caleb and Mariah rather well. Caleb = fear. Mariah = anxiety.
Sandy and her fake tears got no sympathy from me 😂. I honestly believe she thrives on Nick being unstable. Look at how she smiled when he came to their door that night.
Nick, Sandy, JR & Scotty’s behaviour all sets me off. I see some of my non-sober self in some behaviours, I see relationships I’ve participated in, and l see how dangerous and impulsive so many of these tendencies were/are. And how unsafe and unhealthy the environments were. Im fully triggered by the way they are choosing to behave, show up, and how they are choosing to communicate those thoughts & feelings. Watching from Kenya and Scotties energy has been giving abuser from episode one. From how obsessed he was with his designer glasses and looks, he was so eager to show off and be the big man. He was focused on how he was received and gets triggered when he doesn't get his way. Watching him was triggering and scary. I could feel his potential for letting his anger get the best of him. He is emotionally, physically and mentally menacing
I feel Nick did try to handle his emotions in a positive way when he put it into his art. However, Mariah and Sandy then both mocked this, which makes me feel that he he's damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't.
Can't wait for you guys to get to the next episode. I am also a very emotional person so I do empathize with Nick to a certain extent, but I do think its not okay to emotionally neglect your partner and then Love Bomb and act like a lunatic when you feel like you are going to lose your partner because it is clear that he is in a toxic cycle and then also yes Nick should go to Therapy
I’m not being reactive or hyperbolic- Scotty is abusive. He absolutely saved that anger and humiliation he felt during the confrontation with JR, and took it home to someone he did feel safe letting it out on- Zaina. And we see throughout the season that this is a pattern for him. It’s emotional abuse. I don’t say that lightly. I share this bc I want others watching to understand that even when there aren’t raised voices or physical violence, this still meets the threshold. Remove yourself from the environment and/or relationship if you find yourself experiencing this dynamic.
I found it really hard to watch Scotty's gaslighting and immature, emotionally abusive behavior. He lost his ability to reason and use prefrontal cortex. He reverted to his unconscious childhood defense technique of projecting his behavior onto the other person, so that he could feel as the victim. I imagine it feels better to "resolve" something this simplistic way than to deal with uncertainty of who said what and not knowing if he can trust her. I believe he has covert narcissistic defenses. I have experienced them before and it is painful to see that on screen. Zaina did amazingly well in this situation.
hm. regarding the tattoo, you can definitely see that the stencil has been placed once, then replaced. so nick absolutely saw the stencil before being tattooed. It’s not his first time, I don’t buy that this was a mistake.
The thing is Sandy texted Nick that she missed him and then complained that he called her. I feel like she is manipulating both JR and Nick. All these people need to go home single, including Caleb and Mariah.
I am Team Aria over Mariah, sorry not sorry. If things are not meant to be, Caleb must go get his girl lol Lets not forget that Sandy is choosing to stay in that relationship
15:34 She actually said the opposite happens. Sandy said she was surprised by Nick's reaction because usaully he is distant towards her. So the extreme clinginess is weird.
If that is how Scotty is with Zaina, I think he must be a total 🤬 with Aria. I am shook that he was willing to show that side of himself on camera. My husband is like that, but he doesn’t show this side to other people, so I appreciate giving Scotty as an example of his behavior to my therapist. I hope for Aria’s sake that they break up!
Scotty is dangerous. JR is very distant with Zaina and some ppl deduce that they are only friends with benefits and not even a committed couple so JR is filly shopping for someone else. And imo JR is not that into Sandy but he is into Sandy just because someone else wants her so bad.
Do you have the contact info for the person who made the picture of your dog in the background? I remember you shouting them out, but can't remember which video that was in... thanks! 😊
Why is it Scottie instead of Scott? Seems a little juvenile... fitting I suppose... On the other hand, every time I hear his name, I start singing "Scottie doesn't know..."
I agree that he should be going by Scott. Scotty may be used in a situation with your buddies or like on a rare or occasional basis but for it to be how you introduce yourself to other adults and in business scenarios, etc. it definitely is juvenile.
Nick was doing too much and it is toxic... but I feel like if Sandy felt threatened in the same way then ended up alone and crashed out the same as Nick...we'd be mad at Nick for not supporting her. I dont know 😮💨😮💨
Hear me out. As uncomfortable as this season is, in a way, its showing the bad side of what it is to meet someone new and or people being in a toxic relationship for a long time and not seeing it. I feel that this season (as toxic as it is), is showing the realiay of dating in the real world. Instead of this experiment being cheezy and perfect.
I don’t. I think he is just that scatter brained. That he wanted the one about love and sent the wrong one. And the one that is the same as JR I don’t think he realized JR had that tattooed. Personally. He is a loose cannon though! 💯
With all due respect, I feel like you guys are letting Scotty wayyy off the hook. It has been widely observed that he clearly displays extremely abusive tendencies (borderline yelling at Aria when she was upset about the fact that he held another girl’s hand right in front of her when they hadn’t even been “broken up” for that long, him staring down Zaina and taking out all of his frustrations on her after his conversation with JR and accusing her of being the one that told JR that he was saying JR was here for a hall pass, him accusing Zaina of taking her phone to the bathroom in the middle of the night even though she’s a grown woman, and then berating and antagonizing her when she tried to defend herself, etc.) and it’s quite upsetting that you’ve just reduced to his behavior to him being “intense”. Even though this is just a reality tv show, all we’ve seen Scotty do on this show is beat down women emotionally, manipulate them, intimidate them, attack them, belittle them, try to control them, and then start gaslighting and insulting them when he doesn’t get his way. I think it is important to call this what it is: emotional abuse, and it is important to call Scotty out for putting Aria and Zaina in distress and disrespecting them when they don’t act the way he thinks they should. People need to be able to recognize abusive and controlling behavior, and it shouldn’t be downplayed because people like Scotty, and the general public, need to know that his behavior is unacceptable and should never ever be tolerated.

Exactlyyyyyy
I am Team Aria over Mariah, sorry not sorry. If things are not meant to be, Caleb must go get his girl lol
Lets not forget that Sandy is choosing to stay in that relationship
We start to come around ep 7, just wait 😄
This! Caleb is pretty monotone but he just seems sad around Mariah versus Aria.
I didn’t see any romantic interest in Aria tho.
@tashabnicole am I the only one who thinks Caleb is stoned?
Lol this isn't actually to do w/ the show - i LOVE Ashley's hair in this vid like wow, you're shining🤩
15:34 She actually said the opposite happens. Sandy said she was surprised by Nick's reaction because usaully he is distant towards her. So the extreme clinginess is weird.
I love this season, this is the most entertaining ultimatum season other than queer
You look so cute Ashley!! 😍
am i the only one who thinks that nick's feeling are insincere??
You two didn't pick up on the fact Nick got the same tattoo as JR. That was not an accident! 😂
21:02 DID YALL KNOW NICK GOT THE SAME TATTOO SAYING AS JR! Jr showed his tattoo to Sandy’s family
22:25 at this point he is just aggressive
Honestly I thought “GFY” meant “Good for you” lol 😂 Thanks for clarifying!
It might mean both honestly
I just think…
Everyone should break up lol and am I the only one who thinks Sandy looks like Lana Del Rey?
A lot of people have said so.
Scotty is a little un hinged in moments and could definitely benefit from some sort of professional help. My opinion
I agree, especially since he thinks that he’s like ready tomorrow for marriage
Totally unrelated note: Mitch's doppelganger is Hopper from stranger things.
Halloween costume idea. Hopper and Eleven.😅
Ugh done with Scotty. Done with everyone yep fully agree.
That’s a pretty common nickname that adults with the last or first name Scott seem to prefer.
Do you think Nick got the same tattoo as JR on purpose?
I do.
I don’t. I think he is just that scatter brained. That he wanted the one about love and sent the wrong one. And the one that is the same as JR I don’t think he realized JR had that tattooed. Personally. He is a loose cannon though! 💯
Caleb and Aria relationship's is beautiful but very chaste i dont think that they will end together
I miss the queer ultimatum honestly 😅 this season is such a mess
To be fair, the queer season was also a mess... just a slightly more entertaining mess...
I may be in the minority but I'm enjoying this season...
I feel like Sandy decided to go on the show and not Nick.
