Delta II, Titan II, Atlas II, Titan IV A and Titan IV B from Vandenberg - USAF, HD Remaster

- Restored short USAF Launch Programs video about launches from Vandenberg showing the Delta II, Titan II, Atlas II, Titan IV A and Titan IV B. Music was replaced by launch sounds. The original footage was soft and noisy so AI upscaling (Topaz AI) was mostly used for cleanup. While it works in most cases, some artifacts are present in some sequences. The video source was already at 60fps.
Sound and image cleanup, geometry correction, AI upscale and color restoration by RetroSpace HD.

😂 Had to throw that in at the end, dincha? 😆
I assume these edits are real-time, or time-corrected to be so. (except the close-up shots from high-speed cameras, of course)
If that is the case, the Titan IV B is much slower off the pad than I’ve seen before. Somewhat reminiscent of the way the Saturn vehicles moved away from the pad. Takes a bit for the tower to be cleared. Thrust-vectoring stabilizes the vehicle’s pitch most at this point, I assume.
Great edit, as usual!
The Titan II staging never disappoints.
Agreed!
I didn't hear the turbopumps spinning up on the Titan II... Interesting.
Hell yeah
Just before actually!
Retro Space Hd, it's with great sadness that I must inform you that Astronaut Thomas Stafford passed away today.
The Delta II is still my favorite as there were so many things going on on the countdown radio.
For every tiny step someone needed to push a button. 😀
Who came here after seeing SpaceX Starship fly today?
Me
Me too
Especially since Starship and the Titan rockets use hot-staging.
Good on you for replacing the music. It sucked.
On March 28, the Delta IV Heavy will retired. And many payloads that can't be integrated horizontally, only vertically, will launched on Vulcan Centaur VC4L or VC6L only, they can't use Starship, Falcon Heavy, or New Glenn.
