yes it is difficult to understand the raaga or swaraas for the song as it comes with lot of practice and saadhana on each raaga. I suggest to learn simple songs like Annamayya krithis or Bhaktha Raamadasu type of songs which you will grasp as you listen multiple times which won't require much of learning also learning bhajans are good way to enjoy music. for example see the below song ua-cam.com/video/hV6IaC3KDas/v-deo.html

yes. all you need is sruthibox to regulate the pitch but no instrument required to learn vocal music.
