You are not supposed to go past a certain point with addicts, or else you not really helping you are enabling - any therapists worth their salt will tell you this.
Anyway - one point in the addict's favor was his claim that alleged homophobia that Ritchie/bros pulled and Madonna doing nothing about it - but, he was pissed for other reasons and selling a book about Madonna, so did that actually happen? Who knows. Loves makes people do funny things, but so does money, and way more at that.
