I live in Phoenix, AZ and took a flight to Los Angeles to run a 12 KM race at Griffith Park. The run was last Sunday, 1/5/2025. It was awesome! I loved it. The course had big hills for about 4.5 miles with a lot of ups and downs. The trail dirt was soft though - great for an old runner with bad knees like me. Then the course flattened out at about 5 to 7.4 miles. I enjoyed it and returned to Phoenix that night. Now, there is a huge amount of news about fires in the area. That is heartbreaking. I had rented a motel on Sunset Blvd. a few miles from Griffith Park. I understand that whole area is now overwhelmed with disaster operations and fleeing residents. Prayers for LA.
Excited for your trip to California! There’s a lot of spots we want to see in California still. Great lookout of LA from there and beautiful place to watch the sunset!
@@yourlocalexplorers If you want to see some cool nature spots we really want to see Joshua Tree, Sequoia National Park, and Pfeiffer Beach (purple sand beach). You should add those to your list if you haven’t already!
@@MattandRachelTravel we did the Joshua Tree and it was incredible! didn't know about the Pfeiffer Beach tho, so thanks a lot for your recommendation we will definitely check it out!
hey there! thanks for watching. completely agree it's so beautiful to watch the sunset from over here! depends when you go there. I'd suggest coming at least one hour or even bit more before the sun sets so you have enough time to explore the Observatory before :)
