TRULY THE BEST MOST UNDERRATED SONG IN THE LION KING
my fave song. i was so captivated by it
I would say that it is tied with Endless Night, I cannot decide which one I like better
All songs in Lion King are underrated
carina e init
I don’t think so
I'm starting to see why people consider this play the king of broadway.
It's a musical
Would you say it's the LION king of Broadway?
I'm sorry.
Anonymous Anonymous No need to be. That was good.
Anab Samatar I get it
Well sadly the Hamilfans are tying to prove that wrong
Nala is really the hero of the story, and this song should be the most well-known one from the whole show.
I've always loved Hans Zimmer's song THIS LAND in the original film. I've listened to that over and over since seeing it in cinemas back in1994. But I had NO IDEA that that song was given lyrics in the musical production. Saw it last night in Cardiff and it Nala's performance is just phenomenal.
The story is about simba stop being a bum getting high in the forest with his friends and embracing his royal responsabilities
@@k4dowOkay, trigger much
No woke guy, she's not 😂
@@joseluistorres4238 Nala wakes Simba up to the systemic injustice in Scar's corrupt and deceitful authoritarianism, and to their responsibility to do what they can to challenge it. Heroic.
I'd always said that I wanted to see this musical, people always were so enthusiastic about it. Now, I see why; it's amazing.
Adam El-Bashary I was there 1 hour ago and I still have the chills...
Adam El-Bashary its an amazing musical I swear it’s worth the admission ticket
Shadowland > Spirit there I said it
Sling Ding Spirit ain’t bad and I think Beyonce is a fantastic singer. I just think shadowland captures the Lion King feeling way better than Spirit. That chorus melody (shadowland) is just so beautiful
Not a controversial statement at all. I was so disappointed when the orchestra hit the first few notes of the musical cue and then moved on.
That’s the tea
Ooooooooooo
P E R I O D T
This song is beautiful. I get chills listening to it; and the costumes are absolutely amazing. I would love to see The Lion King in person.
Have you had the chance to go yet? I went for the first time only recently and it was absolutely brilliant. I would highly recommend it!
i hope this song makes it in the lion king remake at least.
And I hope they do it justice. Not make a generic pop rendition.
It is in the remake x
Hopefully, i would love to hear Beyoncé sing this 💞
Ximena Lucia she‘s singing it!
Ooh I just got chills thinking about that.
Best Disney song ever!
ouch110 Fragrance Reviews this and Endless Night :)
Lets keep this at 123likes guys
coool song
I have never seen a Lyric Video done this visually pleasing.
Heather Headley is such theatre royalty! the Best!
I watched the Lion King production two weeks ago here in Auckland, New Zealand. When Nala sang this song, I cried! Watching this song live, the emotion, the delivery... I couldn’t contain myself. So beautiful. I’ve looked for this song for so long and I’ve finally found it! 😭
It's really good, your right
You never thought to look at the musical’s soundtrack?🤨
This song hurts me, it's so beautiful and filled with emotion. Saw the show in Pittsburgh when I was 12. It killed me then and it still does now.
It was a wasted golden opportunity for the 2019 remake to not have Beyoncé as Nala sing this song, I believe she has the vocal ability to nail the song. In the end we got that new unmemorable and unimpactful pop song from her just like “Speechless” from the Aladdin remake.
hi speechless is a powerful and uplifting song that inspires many people and is a genius musical song.
Facts are facts this song deserves everything
That's what i completely thought!!
They missed the chance.
Gerald Kiing shadowlaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnddddd
They do have this song in the movie, but sadly not in that role. This song serves as background music in some parts of the movie.
I have so many memories connected to this song. Its one of the first broadway "showtunes" I discovered. And now showtunes have taken over my life! I tried out for this musical when I was 10 & I obsessed over it from ages 7-11. It was my first broadway show I've ever seen and I just saw it again last year. I have so many amazing experiences with this musical and I'm not even 20 yet 😭
TB actually the music was from the original animated feature composed by Hans Zimmer.
The Lion King is immortal ! It's a real thing of beauty ! As long as the film industry goes on..this masterpiece will not be forgotten.. It's classic and evergreen !
from 2:06 gives me goosebumps
Ngiza buyabooooohhh so powerful !
Right in person too
Yesss! I just had to stop it at this point. I was getting chills
The solo in the intro gives me chills every time. 💜
This brings back my childhood. When I was little, I would to the website JUST to listen and sing my heart out to this song on my mom's laptop. Such a beautiful song for Nala. ❤
When-Our?
Ya know, I haven’t seen this play yet. It’s been a dream of mine since I was a little kid. My grandmother and I would watch the original Lion King almost every day when I was a kid. This song hit me so hard. She’s gone now, and I hope to see this soon in honor of her.
The fact that Beyonce didn't sing this in the live action remake is a crime.
This song was played as I was born 😭 I’m truly blessed
This is an absolutely beautiful uplifting song. I wish they could have had it in the live-action remake!
@shaokahnguerilla Let me guess, you still haven't seen it yet, right?
I know! I thought “oh, they are making a live action remake? Maybe they’ll actually follow Napa’s story a bit more, maybe even include that one song I sang in choir (this song) that really encapsulated her struggle to leave the pride.” Nope.
This is the first time I heard the full version of this song, and I'm so happy it's being included in the 2019 remake! Such a deep and beautiful song!
Actually, this is not the full version 😅😅
2:10 Mmmmmm, those chords gave me chills! That was the most beautiful thing ever!
I just watched this show in Thailand and I was enchanted by this song. LOVE HER VOICE!!!
Went and saw TLK at the Detroit Opera House on February 15th, 2022 (tonight) and it was AMAZING.
Thank you Disney for running this show for over 25 years! Here's to another 25 years and more! BRAVO!
Nala is such a boss...!
i looooooooooooooooooove you . your the best in the holl wid world
That's why I love her
Well I just gonna add this to my funeral play list
And my wedding song.. spotify playlist that i play secretly when i feel alone here i come..... yeeeettt
Same here! This was dope af! This sh*t made me cry!
My favorite song from the entire musical...
and this isn't the full version. Why.
Ineke Langezaal it’s like the audition track because you can’t also do the background usually
For real
if they wanted to give beyonce a song in the movie she should of gotten this it would fit her voice perfectly
I love that they added this song showing Nala growing up watching as her home slowly falling to ruin but having the courage to cling onto hope and leave to find help
My favorite song from the play, which I saw for the third time this past Sunday. Emotional. I'm in my seat, crying, in a packed theatre, trying not to embarrass myself. So powerful.
i have seen Heather Headley a few times live and she is amazing
BEST SONG EVER! Definitely my favourite song from the broadway!
This is amazing, it makes me emotional
Gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it ! AMAZING music and vocals *0*
I so much LOVE!!!!! This song...my love for south africa
Just heavenly! The richness of Heather's voice and the rest of the singers flow like the Rivers in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2:10 KJV. Living rivers of waters flowing out of each temples making harmony in light. Wow! God's voice coming out of them all.
Damn right
Skylar Reader Seriously? Did you really have to say that?
This just blessed me so. The Lord truly knows how to bless and encourage us
Skylar Reader Even though this is a late comment, God technically hasn’t 100% been proven or disproven by science yet but okay then.

I love this song! I never get tired of it!
Saw this on Saturday in London it was so beautiful my favourite ever movie and seeing it live moved me so much I was in tears. Fantastic performances I wish I could go back
SAAANG HEATHER!!! I have always loved her voice on this song!!!!
beautiful song! I love African singers!
When I saw this in person it brought tears to my eyes, absolutely beautiful
I remember when I played Nala (Young Nala) at our school play and adoring this song while my sister's classmate who was playing as older Nala sang and danced gracefully at this. This song made me look into the musical itself.
God this song hits so hard for me. I was abused throughout my childhood and I had to leave the house to escape the abuse to survive.. But... I had to leave my brothers and sister behind and subject that to them. They forgave me, but they each went through what I want through (albeit to a lesser degree.) This song parallels the mindset I've had from that for years... This song just wracks me and flays me alive with how relatable it is. It was my stepmother ... My parents divorced when I was 12, and Dad took on this woman in his life was just absolutely vile and a despicable human being in every sense. Meanwhile, my Dad just stood by and let it happen. I felt so abandoned by him. Lion King hits hard anyway because I see Sinba's relationship with Mufasa and I get so ... so... very jealous. Where my memories with my father were mostly bitter. It was as if he stopped the abuse so she could... At one point Dad used to be kind and loving... but along the way... He lost his way... This song... This moive/play....
Only thing is... I never returned ... 😥😥😥😥😥😥
I am so sorry, I hope your doing alright
We did this for our 7th grade play, our school’s first musical since god knows how long. The girl who played Nala fucking KILLED IT at this song, she still gets all the main female roles in musicals, 5 years later 😅 it’s frustrating that there’s no diversity but our director is obsessed with her voice, I’ll be surprised if she doesn’t go on to do choir in college
I have seen this show three times and this is the song I look forward to in the show.
I've just come across this video as I am interested in seeing The Lion King. As soon as the artist started to sing I knew it was Heather Headley. What a wonderful voice Heather has. Beautiful.
She should count as a Disney princess
Amazing!.... just amazing. I even cried at the end of this song. Now, every single time I listen to it, I cry....
One of my favorite songs from the musical
This singer has a very beautiful voice
My favourite song of Time
Who else is hoping Disney puts this song in the live action??!!!!
Beyoncé singing this will be ICONIC!
hoping they'll include it
ginonovanta pretty sure they’re not going to
She does sing it in the remake c
meia it’s likely they will. Tim Rice was credited, and he’s the songwriter for the musical. They will at least include some of the musical songs (I’m hoping for this one and “They live in you).
I hope they include it, but it's not in the actual movie, it's only in the musical. I'm really hoping it's in the movie!
If Beyonce doesn't sing this for the remake I'll be pissed
Here it is ua-cam.com/video/5SnC-f8Jz-Q/v-deo.html
She’s not because this is musical and there remaking the movie
She didn’t, I’m pissed too lol
Sadly she doesn’t😭😭😭
she didnt
@ 1:19 😮😮😮 that low drop, she’s is incredible
I LOVE this song !
Still the best song I've heard in my 19 years
I'm learning this for the play that I'm doing for school, and I realized that this is a really really good song
You know, I am the type of man who never gets chills listening to a song, but THIS!!! This song proves there's a first time for everything. Why was this not in the 2019 version? WHY WAS THE 2019 VERSION NOT THIS?
I remember doing this play 6 years ago this brings back so many memories I want to cry❤❤❤❤❤
It's a musical
+Ursula Craney i know
+The Jordan Banks Show which part were you??
That was so good than it made me cry wow
I honestly wish this song was about 10 minutes longer lol.
脳みそ破壊されるぐらい好き。
劇団四季で生で聞いた時頭おかしなるぐらい感動した。
Uuuuuhhhhhhhhh uuhhhh uuhhhhhh uuuuuhhh huh.
i have NO WORDS !
:)
22:50.
This song was hard to sing as I was the role of Nala. I’m glad I joined the musical in my school but my goodness I wasn’t prepared for this solo. I’m so glad my friend and the teacher helped me though. Till this day I’m still confused why they choosed me to be Nala (we had to sing for auditions) and since I’m not confident with my singing voice it made me more anxious. But oh well, I did what I did and did the best I could to sing this beautiful song..
I was there 1 hour ago and I still have the chills...🐈
I always loved Mufasa's theme playing when Mufasa tells Simba about the kings of old, so while "They Live in You" is an amazing song, I was a little disappointed to lose that moment with this melody. But then "Shadowland" took that melody and ran with it, and I was happy. And then it makes the "He Lives in You" reprise that much more impactful
I am singing this for my musical!!
This bit of the musical is like. The best bit. Would love to go and see it again.
1 word. Wow
AWESOME!!!!! An AMAZING song from a SPECTACULAR show! GREATEST MUSICAL EVER!!!!! :-D
Dry.
I'mma tell my kids the play was the 2019 Lion King Remake. JOIN ME IN LYING TO A GENERATION!
Hits?
I want to cry everytime I hear this
Oooooooookkk.
I wish I could remember what year I saw this on Broadway, and I was BLOWN away with the whole production
The songs in the musical show is so good that they should be in the movie as well.
luv this song
makes me want 2 cry
this is definitely one of the songs in the whole musical
it is my fav song after he lives in u
I love this song I am In a choir and this Is my favorite song
Why can't they add Shadowland instead of Spirit in the remake
Because that might make the “live action” look good.
It hurts to feel alone 💔
This makes me so nostalgic from my school production. I was Nala, and I had so much fun, I wish I could do it again.
I LOVE NALA'S VOICE
I Remember Seeing The Lion King Live In 2015 And I Absolutely Love It!!!!!!!
I Loved It So Much I Started Crying It's AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
My friend used to make the MOST heavenly #SOLO out of this song!!!
My 12 yr old gr. daughters middle school is doing The Lion King Jr. Musical Production next weekend. She sings this song !!! And a few others (y) Beautiful song .
Man, this is incredible.
the most beautiful song in the whole musical.
I love this !! 😍😍
Such a glorious song 😢😢😢, I was chosen to play Nala in our highschool play, wish me luck. I'll try my best😊
God the fact that this song is in the tune of what I call Mufasa’s motif makes me cry every time
I just got Nala in my school play
young nala or adult nala?
+Gwen Merry I'm Banzai!
+Brittstar 101 adult😊
+Hetzer Gaming cool!
Same I'm doing this at my school 😀
Shadowland from the Lion King musical is a modern day hymn about survival, especially post-colonial survival and *especially* climate and warfare related survival.
Omg Thanks Disney On Broadway I Need This For My Play!
So beautiful :)
It's fantastic!!
So it wasn't sung in the remake but the soundtrack actually does repeat the theme in the track "Remember", and I don't know what part of the movie that's at but if you listen closely I'm sure you'll hear it. It really is a great song, and they gave it a faint incarnation in the "live action" one.
I remember in three years ago I did the play for lion king in third grade and this was my favorite dance we did 🤗😊
my personal best Broadway play watched with such powerful songs packed with meaning😊
Beautiful Song
This song is so beautiful
