This video shows you how to replace the lock actuator so that you don’t need to purchase an entire latch assembly in your 2004-2006 Scion xB. Power door lock systems typically use some sort of actuated motor to drive the lock mechanism. If the actuator breaks, then the door lock will no longer operate electronically.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
