I wanted the Honda 700 when I was out west riding in the mountains. Just couldn't find a clean used one. Ended up getting a new Polaris sportsman 1000. The banshee was not ideal for the mountain type riding I was doing with the straight axle.
I would love to try a new sportsman or scrambler 1000. I spent months searching for my Honda before I found one I liked for the right price. They aren’t easy to come by in good condition.
I had the first year Outlaw 500 with the IRS back in the day i bought it new in 06. That quad handled amazing and did slide fairly well. Take them both to sand wars i'd love to see it.
The previous owner bought the engine blown up with the intention to rebuild it himself. He then lost interest and took it to the shop to have it built so we are not sure exactly why it was blown up. I’m guessing it had to do with low oil but I’m not sure.
That would make sense. When I was looking to buy one there where many 700xx with new top ends. I also talked to the shop that built the engine. The guys there said there was a problem with the piston.
Never been on a trx700 and always been curious how they handle and how power feels compared to a raptor 700. Also the SSI graphics will not disappoint you. Had mine for the last year and a half and they still look new
They are very different from the Raptor. The only similarity is the power delivery. Other than that the gearing, ride, and seating position is all different.

@mattsatv Polaris in the mountains do well. But the Honda is a hybrid. A mountain goat 🐐 🙌 😎

I do plan on taking both to sand wars! My dad will probably be riding the 700xx instead of his Rincon most of the time.
@@mattsatv awesome! He'll have much more fun.
Why did they rebuild the 700xx motor? Looks like those are the original tires, so I wouldn't think a rebuild would be needed that soon.

I've read the top end on the 700xx have a known issue. Surprisingly, they're not the most reliable quads Honda has come out with.

Super Clean man
Thanks!
Nice, should be an interesting comparison!
That is my hope!

Hondas better 💪🏻
Possibly better but definitely not faster😂
Kawasaki Kfx 700
Definitely another unique machine! I looked at a few, but I really wanted the Honda because of the IRS.
