Both car are great cars. Sadly that he didn't show the truth in the back bed of the SR5. both have the storage plus a electrical plug. Both have the same hoarse power when both are v6. This means that either one will do your job. So I will not pay for an extra fixtures. Thanks for your video.
Randy R the only thing I liked about my trd 4x2 offroad is it has the 110 power outlet in the bed its handy that if you ever want to plug in any electrical item but other then that comes with positraction option nothing else impresses me about it..
I have the same truck as you. I’m glad to hear you say this. Obviously I haven’t driven a trd, but I do like the headlights, and hood more. I didn’t or wouldn’t think the trd would really be that much better driving wise. I feel good about my investment
Uh... yeah, I still don't really know what I'm getting with the TRD over the SR5. It seems like mild cosmetic differences, a wireless charging pad, power in the bed, and the audio/navi system seems to be slightly more feature rich? Am I missing something? It seems like the SR5 offers basically the same stuff at a much lower price.
Not a whole lot of difference if you're getting a automatic and don't want the extra options. If you want the extra the TRD will be slightly cheaper in the long run since most of it comes standard. If you want a manual transmission you have to go with the TRD. The manual transmission gets you a bigger rear differential (8.75 vs 8 inch) and a lower gears (4.30 manual vs 3.90 auto).
This is my third Toyota truck 2020 Sr5 cement gray added Bakflip bed cover running boards 30 inch led light bar under grille and Cali led roof rack with 42 inch combo light bar as well. Also put Cooper Discoverer At3 tires on .Love this truck no need for TRD Off Road or Pro .

My last vehicle was a Fial Sport 500. Bought that before loosing my leg. But i did fit into it very well, and it got damm good gas mileage. But i had alot of problems with it and Fiat would give me the run around. In my book FIATS SUCK. But i went to every truck dealership, chevy, ford gmc and even nissan. The last dealership was my local Toyota dealership. So i looked online first. Now I have had every colored vehicle in my life. But toyota had a brand new color out. Inferno Orange. Plus i was planning on visiting some friends up north in Pa and NJ. So I bought a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport with 4 wheel drive. It does not have the crawl control knob. I dont go off road, Thats what my Argo Frontier with Adair tracks is for. I love my toyota. I get great mileage. Yes the put the K&N air intake on it and a better exhaust system and a dash camera. But thats it. My holster for my Glock fits nicely under the sterring wheel and my pin on my liner for my stump fits nicely in the cubby hole on the left side dash area. But I get so many people telling me that they love the color. I was even stopped by a cop once, and he asked me what color is this color on your truck,I love it. And i told him Inferno Orange. He bought two of them. But ive only seen about 7 in my home town of Jacksonville, Fl. And the 4 wheel drive work very well when i was in Pittsburgh, no need to buy winter tires. I still have the factory tires on it and my mileage is around 28349 miles. Again Toyota makes great vehicles for a much cheaper price then the other truck makers out there. A friend of mine bought a Ford pick up truck, within a week he took it back because his engine and trannie was making a very wierd noise. He traded that ford for a chevy. His plain chevy truck does not have 4 wheel drive, no backup camera,no keyless entry and no xm on his radio. But he paid so much more then what i paid. Now he drives a 2020 toyota tacoma TRD sport 4 wheel drive. He is very pleased with it, he got his in Black. SSO i can only say, for the buck Toyota puts out a great truck. Thank you Toyota.
Great review Jeff, as always! I do want to say though, I do want a TRD Sport, 6 speed manual transmission. BUT, and this is a big but for me.........you can only get the manual transmission with the 4X4 package. I live in flat Florida. I have no need for the extra fuel expense and maintenance a 4X4 requires. I wish that Toyota would offer the manual transmission in the 4X2 package like they used to. I don't understand why manual transmission is only available in 4X4? That's a frustration, and mystery to me.

Literally just watched this just to find out for the difference in price with BOTH having 4wd just buy the sport. #1 rule on comparing car dont compare a 4wd to a 2wd....
I don't see the point of paying more for the Sport. No reason to ever use a vehicle's built in navigation over my phone, I have my own wireless fast charger, prefer a regular key over push button, the included inverter is only as powerful as Harbor Freight's cheapest power inverter, fake hood scoop. I'd choose the Off Road over my SR5 but definitely not the Sport.
TRD is a gimmick, aftermarket shocks, decals, push button start, fake hood scoop, and different wheels. Buying a SR5 Thursday, I'll be just fine without these features.
That ugly chincy looking chrome grill? psssh give me the black out grill from the sport package. Makes it look mean. Not like you just went to autozone and chromed it the fuck out
I have an 18 Sport. The sport’s suspension is the best package for a comfortable on road vehicle. The sr5 suspension does not absorb bumps as well and neither does the Offroad or Pro which share the same off road capable suspension. With that being said it’s still a truck so it handles bumps like a truck so dont expect SUV/car dampening. But the Sport is the one to choose if you stick to a paved road 90% of the time. Also for fuel economy i average 22-23. I see 25-26mpg on the highway as long as I’m doing 55-60. I do believe my cold air intake and use of 93 octane fuel have a big impact on it.
Lets see, 16" rims on a truck in 2019 and regular key for the SR5, no way. Sport rims look better but 18", come on. Like Sport front grill, it looks aggressive. Those premium radios look cheap and outdated. Those prices 35-40k are crazy for mid size trucks.
This guy is "Mr. Obvious". If you can afford the upgrades, get them. If you can't, don't get it. Why is this guy debating upgrades that are better? JFC. Buy what you need and can afford. JFC.
Eddy Edwards basic but functional. To me, that hood scoop is a waste of manufacturing dollars because it serves no functional purpose whatsoever. They could have used that money on something useful like a grab handle for the driver side, a seat height adjuster or upgraded interior materials
Worst then fake hood scoop in my books is the fake dual chrome exhaust tips when the exhaust pipe doesn't even go near them. I believe I saw that on the new Corolla.
The SR5 looks to work truck without in my opinion, maybe it’s because my Uncles work truck is a Tacoma. But I think the hood scoop makes the truck look a lot better, even if it isn’t functional. But I’m the type of guy that’ll build a car for looks rather then performance.
The SR5 has typically ALL the great features of a TACOMA. If you do not go much of off roadings, then the SR5 is good for your family truck. But, if you want some off road actions...then choose the Sport or the Off Road models. The shocks can be a big difference and the height too, and most other accessories are cosmetic thus making them more expensive.....But if you want a comfortable everyday ride, come ride with me in the SR5, and we will spend the BIG PRICE difference for gas to go around. 👌😊🍎
