Yes, he does. But its actually not much easier to play with the delay. One Slip and It will come back much worse. Together with the overdrive It has to be very precise and is not so easy to control.

Thanks for posting....This may have been one of Pete"s first live gigs after the end of the 1982 Farewell Tour with the Who. Great pre released material from White City. I would say 1985, due to his longer hair...
Townsend is a top notch performer and musician same goes for Gilmour. Nice to see these guys aren't performing to backing tapes which is telling as to the integrity of their musicianship(backing band is amazing as well). White City is a personal favorite so watching this is that much more satisfying. Thanks for sharing this gem.
What's with your extreme disdain as for Gilmour? He's highly respected among other musicians and has created some of the most melodic solos ever written. Townshend and Lifeson among others heap praise on the way he plays. Complexity on its own does not make something good.
All Petes solo works are amazing. Possibly the greatness of Paul McCartney has cast a shadow on Pete's success. Mind you Pete is a better dancer Vs McCartney and Pete's got more rock musicals under his belt.

My question is about the accuracy of the date of this show. Since the album that these songs were on wasn't even released until November of 1985. I would say that the date given is inaccurate.
I don't know who this is but they have the same date: wn.com/david_gilmour_pete_townshend_1984_03_30_live_on_the_tube. Deep End's two gigs in Brixton were definitely in November 1985. I was at both. The episode of 'The Tube' must have been somewhat prior to that. I am left wondering how "well-paid session work" turned out for Dave Gilmour.
David Gilmour, en su Segundo LP como solista tiene composiciones muy parecidas a este tema,,,mucha casualidad o mucha coincidencia,,,,o mucha influencia???
Amazing, some nervousness and irritation on the performance of Give Blood here- Pete seems to realize or be irritaded that his acoustic guitar is not amped..and it is amazing how much Petes simple acoustic guitar strumming is missing in the overall mix. THen at 7:13min he of all people wants to go into the bridge part "Give Love and Give Blood between brothers " one take to early - you can clearly sing him the notes for the bridge part, but pro that he is he does the Miles Davis and simply repeats it, although it is usually not there.
