In the age of social media having a guy like Haslam is refreshing. He never sold out and is always just himself with his own unique style. Its crazy to me that one of my favorite skaters as a kid doesn't have sponsors anymore for no reason. Seems like skate companies are cutthroat once you reach a certain age bc of how marketing works. Mullen, Haslam, Daewon are all guys that make skating an art style and not afraid to get weird with it
Love this and how open he is about
Mental health. Stand up human being right here!
The thing about Haslam is not only does he think way outside of the box, but he makes it look so good! Some of the newer gimmicky trick skateboarders let their tricks look kinda ugly
Agreed. No offense to the guy but look at the trick selections between Jeff Dechesare and Cody Whitt and look at the difference in styles
Nyjah and other trick robots have no soul, not fun to watch. Haslam is all abt it and it shines through
@@theramplocal i wouldnt go as far to say "no soul" i think thats unfair, those guys have spent their lives perfecting skill...theres soul there. if its not your thing its not your thing, lets not be disrespectful to others that have ate slept and breathed skateboarding their entire lives because it isnt.
i personally prefer skaters like haslam, but i do not lose respect for others that are not him because of it.
I love how they are all talking about the dog, but can't see it.
Bro Kelly hart is like the king of dorks. especially in the world of skateboarding.
Chris haslam with a boss in cheese and crackers my first ever skate video on DVD
fully!
thats a good first video bro nice!!
@@masonmcconnell9375 yeah i remember buying it at kinetic skateshop in Delaware visiting my aunt and uncle and i seen it on display so i got it and watched it on my mini dvd player everyday...a few weeks later i started skating this waterway i found and was tryna build shit like did lol
@@jemiiam TD that's so rad dude i wish I could remember my first video I want to say it was flip sorry sorry on vhs
Great video, mentioned it in a comment this was one of the first videos I saw. I really hope they make a second part together.
I think rad rat analyzes skateboarding out of love for the art just like the hosts of this podcast do. If they actually watched his content before bashing it I think they would agree.
I've been looking for this comment. 100 percent 👍
Kelly is a judge. Shouldn’t technique be something he cares about?
My dream is that one day Chris and Daewon do a sequel to Cheese and Crackers but also have Dennis Busenitz and Louie Barletta in on it. How much fun would that be to watch
Hell yeah always nice when Rog is hanging out
I saw chris haslam i swear i clicked on this so fast 😂
Chris and Andy Anderson doing the "build and we'll skate it" show would be amazing. Call it something like Two Van Dudes or Two Vans One Spot
Chris is the man. Such a good dude on top of being a legendary ripper.
yo kelly! you are talking about umikaze skatepark in yokosuka and yes, everyone rips there! i can confirm this because i saw you and chico's signature on the wall at Ours skate shop the other day
Rad Rat rulez
Chris and Daewon could skate a curb for 20 minutes and I'd watch it. lol
You guys should actually watch rad rats video. He’s done mad work for the community and helps people understand the history of skating
dear lord, why don't we have any videos of these chris vs daewon games of skate
Radrat is right. You have to deconstruct things to get what is actually happening. If I start doing pressure kickflips and call them regular kickflips, it will be a lie. Being in denial and getting upset over facts is moronic.
Chris Haslam is a legend. Good to see him healthy and doing well.
I lived in Vancouver late 90s and Grizzly was hitting Richmond alot and you could tell he was on a diff level. Then he just kept progressing and blowing minds.
Chris is the man. He’s allowed to wear sleeveless vests and Indy caps because he’s a fucking baller.
Imagine how crazy it would be if he wore a vest that wasn’t sleeveless!…they wouldn’t even be able to call it a vest! 🤯
@@b1bout2jam3 Itd just be like a shirt or some shit. Now that would be pretty wacky.
@@cv6531 exactly!!
@adolf hitler My my Hitler took the liberty of making lots of assumptions in this (arguably self absorbed) post where he generously applied ASSumptions to the motives of the guy with the milkshake. According to Adolf Hitler, we should all just shut up and listen to him tell us how life should be lived from his self created platform of superiority where he looks down upon the common people judging them from his mentally constructed platform of perceived perfection.
Chris is an amazing dude so humble yet a monster on the wood
I'll bet he is. Just look at his clothes.
Preaching about acceptance, then dissing a guy over a video you didn't even watch. C'mon Nine Club, you better than that.
Chris needs to be on Nike or New Balance or someone he can feel good riding for but that will also put money behind him so he can put out a couple video parts every year. He's too good and one-of-a-kind to not see more of him
He’s definitely earned it by now I hear what you’re saying & support it
Yes!!! Haslam is a skateboarding wizard!
I love haslam man... He's a legend and has inspired me since I first started skating
Football punt your board, take that chip from your hip and eat it with some kiwi/quinoa dip, then roll up the windows because this was a wild ride!
Such a legend. And if you met him in public you probably would never know it. So humble.
Grew up on Cheese and Crackers, still never seen a video like it. Probably my pick for a video that gets me up to skateboard 🛹.
Havent been this hyped for a episode in awhile...i like all the interviews but some (like this one) bring the nastalgia
No Bolognese 🚫 That Sprouted Quinoa Though ✨🌱 😤💨💨💨 🌱✨
YES!!!! instant-click!!!
Excited for this one! Ya know you guys could talk about the BATB goings on. Can't wait for that CROB vs Kelly! 🧡
Cant talk about Batb cuz its not gonna be done til Trump wins presidency back in 2024...thats how long its gonna take 🤣😂
hells yeah
@@EsotericOccultist Letsss GOOOOO Brandon
Shoutout to Chris man, Im 28 now prolly 13-14 at the time and I can still remember to this day skating with him at our local park in Michigan Simplicity. It was around Christmas time and said he was visiting family and stopped in. Put on an absolute clinic on the mini and was just a super rad dude. I don’t skate anymore but find myself watching clips and this channel all the time. Shit like this makes me want to get back on a board. Shoutout to you guys
Absolutely no need to call rad rat a dork Kelly. You clearly didn't watch his video and you went straight to the adhoms which means you automatically lost the argument. He never said he was cheating at lazers. Really effed up to call a smaller creator names when you don't even know what the vid is about.
Ya know you pro skaters gate keep skating so badly which is totally the opposite of what this culture and community used to be. Your platform is huge and you can do w.e you want with it but alot of ppl have noticed 98 percent of your guest are already skating superstars.. you could make a huge difference in people lives if you had some of these new pro guys like Johnny giger and the like on.. oh that's right, if you don't skate for one of the CORPORATE skate companies then you aren't pro... doesn't matter if every other part of your board is sponsored... if the deck is braille or Revive your not a real pro I forgot...
This has soured alot of us on you guys. You owe rad rat an apology.
I like nine club but goddam the gate keeping its just too much, these dudes sometimes think they are the owners of the Right Skateboarding Opinions. The other day I watched an epiode where they complain about people not matching the CORRECT brands in their outfits, holy shit I just closed the fucking window
Bad form talking crap on Rad Rat Video
Would rather watch a rad rat video
Clearly, you probably don't even skate 😂 why listen to a legend talk when you can listen to some rodent faced weirdo that can barely skate determine that style exists instead?
@@FPSBloodlust 😂 you spent a lot of time answering on this comment. That’s weird. Don’t have anything better to do? Like go skate?
@@FPSBloodlust "clearly" you don't know what you're talking about
Love the BAKU patch. Haslam rules!
He is beast of guavaden or permafrost muskelunge. He's one of them. The one with the obvious ponytail under the skii mask. Only one throwing blunt tre to fakes on the barrier.
I’m always in need of a new nine club episode! Love yall
This channel is a good resource to learn and improve my english
Chris Haslam is a LEGEND!!!
chris has at the gates patch! awesome!
Fuck yea! Would love to see haslam skate to a song from slaughter of the soul lol
Seems pretty clear they just took issue with the term "cheating" being used and hadn't seen the video. I'm pretty sure Kelly was referring to the kiwi flip name when he said that it was "dork" as well. People need to relax and stop exaggerating the situation 😂
Haslam is the best. Everyone knows it but him, apparently. Such an amazing skater.
Whoa this is insane lol. All over a comment. I guess it is the comments section. Something like this wouldn’t even happen in real life lol. There’s so much detail to a comment made. I haven’t even been keeping up with you guys I just walked in out of nowhere to this drama lol. Tripping out right now 😯
We NEED a cheese a crackers 2!
Drinking game:
Take a shot everytime someone says Daewon 😭😭
They’re talking about downhill nollie laser heel manny when talking about Daewon.. That was Jerons last trick in skate more!!
People disliking cause of nonsense, kooks disliking a Legends interview should be ashamed truly.
Haslam is a Legend became a fan since his part in Almost Round 3 ! Chris Haslam reminds me of Zakk Wylde from Ozzy and BLS !
I got to skate with Rodney and daewon at skate shack in lisle IL at a demo in 1999. I found a video of them doing the demo. I was just a kid. I did my first kickflip off a launch ramp. I skated alot better when having better people around.
Haslam with crazy tricks and funny ball pics. Another Great Stop and chat.
Chris Haslam just said 'innit'
Canadians are more British than I thought hahah
"That's a blue one, innit?" hahaha
isn't his dad from England?
Another great interview… would be insane to do a round 2 with Daewon
Man it would be one thing if some unknown jobber who didnt skate came up and tried to speak on how anyone did a trick. But Rad Rat is an OG and loves skateboarding as much as the rest of us, which is why he puts out the content that he does, and has been doing for years. Sucks to see such a chill group of dudes hit low like that on Rad Rat and crap all over him without even knowing what his whole stance was about. We gotta be better than that🤘🏼
They didn't even say his name, they just said asking if Haslam cheats on laser flips dorky, then said "who cares", then compared it to asking if Jeron cheats on his fs heels, it's just weird bro, like 99% of his videos. The only people who care about this shit are other weirdos who love his channel.
THX GUYS!
this dude is, and i hate saying this because i hate that word, but he is so 'underselling' himself! HE IS SO GOOD!!! And he reminds me of Robin Williams (same eyes)
Half the comments here are defending rad rat, but honestly, they barely even went in on him.
So cool that the guys that picked on me for not being able to kick flip in the eighth grade made a podcast
y'all did rad rat dirty smh
RadRat is the best UA-cam skateboarding channel
y'all should make it up to rad rat by bringing him on. he's a legend.
Chris is a true inspiration: as a skater as well as a human beeing...
Much love from Switzerland
Just started following Ballbearians haha piss funny great show lads.....
You guys missed the mark trying to shit on Rad Rat, lost a lot of respect from me trying to act cool when the dude was just so excited about the nuances of skating that he made a video to point out a different technique that Chris uses to laser flip. I’m disappointed in this channel
Haslam is a legend! Great episode!
Okinawa is an island that’s about 65 miles long and 15 miles wide. The skatepark Kelly is thinking of us outside of a naval base in the mainland, not in Okinawa. Also, there are many bases on Okinawa. The Air Force base is only one, there’s probably about 30 bases around the island, mostly marines, but the Air Force base is the biggest. I’m not sure if Chris would be able to go there with passport without orders. You have to travel through Tokyo and take a connecting flight to get to Okinawa and Japan is off limits at the moment. Hope that helps.
There are many bases on the island that have skateparks, probably the most popular is on marine corps base camp Foster behind the old Popeyes
Yeah Kelly was taking about Umikaze skatepark in Yokosuka. I had some many good memories there. I was stationed at Atsugi for 10 years.
@@amgone75dm ha I just posted that as well.lived there '94-98 and used to go skate there at that park every now and then
Love Haslam! Glad he got back on the club
To quote AngryJoe...."Ya done F'd it up!!"
"there's levels to these bawls" the kids love it xD
