i met chris on a zero tour back in the day and he was so humble, i was about 11 at the time and he went around introducing me and showing me all his fellow teammates and just hyping them up, a great humble guy.
I met him when I was about the same age maybe a little younger on an almost tour? I think he was injured because we ended up talking for like an hour but it’s crazy hearing how genuine it is.
I have been saying that shit for years, how are you gonna be an athlete and promote shit that harms athletic performance(and health in general) while at the same time not even using it.
Nothing but respect for Haslam the madman! Extremely unique style and insane tricks i can't name... this dude KILLS it. He is a good reminder that style absolutely matters in skating. You can tell he has fun skating, and he's fun to watch. Super cool dude. Almost really had the best team in the round 3 era
Dehydration is no joke all of you amazing shredding young bucks out there drink shit loads of water if your going to be going hard all day. I've had 3 friends and a cousin die from dehydration please drink lots of water. I wake up I drink 2 large glasses of water before I leave the house I drink a 3rd glass then I have a case of water in my trunk for anyone who may need it. Skateboarding is the most amazing sport in my opinion but most of us are knuckleheads and we fight against the mainstream. Just drink your fucking water and thrash and kick ass and live your life have fun but be safe love everyone. Like Andy Roy says git it git it git it yeah yeah yeah!!!!!
this same thing happened to andy schrock from revive. he skated a three block for five hours and had to go into the hospital the next day. it's important to remember the first person to run a marathon dropped dead right after.
damn, man got rhabdo from skateboarding! That is another level. Rhabdo is extremely rare and the few times it happens tends to be in extreme military hazing in hot weather or extreme poorly advised max effort back to back CrossFit. By the way, the blood waste product is "creatinine" not "creatine" two different things ! the latter being an energy unit.
Never dealt with something as crazy as kidney failure.. but when I got acute pancreatitis, it was sooooo painful. I was doing exactly what Haslam said, kneeling on the bed. Couldn't find any comfort for over 24 hours, and all my organs hurt. Every inhale was brought on sharp pains, and it didn't help that I was smoking. 😂
I had the same problem. I went to the gym and after working out, I went into the sauna. The next day, my piss looked like Simple Green, it was super dark and foamy, but I felt fine, so I started not to even get checked out. I'm glad I did tho because they said my creatine levels were at the levels you nornally only see when someone had been in a super bad car accident or something. They said my levels were in the 100,000's and that my kidneys would have failed if I had waited to get checked out much longer.
I remeber when I was like 30 I couldn't sleep because I felt like I had to pee every single second. One night my kidney was killing me and I rolled over in bed to pee in a bottle and a buttered popcorn substance came out. The doctor never knew what I had, and I'm sure I almost died since it lasted for years. I eat better now, exercise, and drink plenty of water and it seems to have healed fine.
This happened to my mom twice in two years my man, it's Soo scary to watch it happen to somebody and try to figure out what started it and what went wrong , the first time it happened it was Soo bad it caused a siezure and a mini stroke, she lost all memory for almost two months! And the second time it was a 7 hour long gushing nosebleed , she lost over 2 pints of blood and the doctors couldn't figure out what was going on, she spent over 2 weeks both times in the hospital yo try to get all her levels back up to normal , luckily after months of taking vitamins the size of small boulders and drinking 4 Gatorades per day she's back to feeling herself again. But it is definitely the scariest thing to see someone go through because there's so many factors that can cause it. Stay healthy and hydrated my guy!
@Dick Dastardly TF are you talking about? ERs are triaged based on priority of care from 1-5. I went broke my leg last year in Canada, and was in surgery with 30 minutes of arriving at hospital.
@@Brett733 I have a friend that had to drive to the next province for knee surgery after mcl and acl tear, but thats not it he had to schedule and wait like 2 weeks
What's up with how small your mind is. Why don't you try to think about a concept rather than be the master of observing details that do not matter at all.

He had rhabodmyolosis and acute renal failure. Basically one’s kidneys are designed to “clean” blood toxins which keeps you alive. Since his kidneys were failing due to acute dehydration he went on dialysis which is a machine that cycles and cleans one’s blood for them. He kept talking about lab results because that is how kidney failure/profound dehydration is diagnosed.
Doomreb ya that’s very true. you got me there. probably bc she’s a girl and that’s it lmao. but realistically haslam wouldn’t be able to skate like the rest of the team. he for sure wouldn’t be able to compete in sls or xgames etc and that’s the kind of exposure brands like nike want for their riders. haslam simply just got old man. don’t get me wrong, he was great back in the day, but as for today’s standards, i highly doubt nike would seriously consider him as an option.
Incompetence happens everywhere. In Finland, it's a hard rule, that if you weren't there to witness a fresh needle/equipment taken from the sterile packaging, you have to assume it's not fresh and replace it before using it on the patient. This hospital clearly didn't have that rule beaten into the skulls off the staff properly so stuff like this could happen...
I was pissed dark purple piss and on my way to hospital i fainted. I had a poisoning from a new medicine i got, it nearly killed me bc my body couldnt process it and it kept building up. It was a medicine to induce the amount of saliva bc i was sick at the time and saliva is pretty important... 😰😰
Are you gonna gloss over the fact that his doctor said “yeah I’ll call you while I pick my dog up from the vet” and he almost got the wrong injection multiple times? That’s what free heath care gets you buddy, I’d rather pay tons of money and have shit done properly lmao
@@baileylindo6183 are you insinuating that because you over-pay for healthcare here in the US that you're less likely to experience medical malpractice? Because doctors still kill people on accident here. "Free" healthcare isn't actually free. You act like their doctors aren't being paid for their services just like the doctors here. Only difference is that in Canada they send the bill to the government instead of your mailbox.
Jake Blue They’re getting paid by the government, yes; but they’re not getting paid well. Canada has a problem where the number of people interested in becoming a doctor is deceasing because they don’t get paid well. Also, please tell me when the last time your doctor decided to leave you and said “I’ll give you a call while I pick up my dog” when referring to a major, potentially life threatening surgery. That doesn’t happen here, so don’t b.s me and try to say it does. There’s a reason people say, “you get what you pay for” because if you’re getting a better product for the price. Canada’s health care system is so bad, that people in Canada WANT private heath insurance but can’t get it and Canada was brought to the Supreme Court for it and it was deemed a violation of human rights to be subjected to their wait times and quality of care (Chaoulli v Quebec). Sorry but Canadian healthcare isn’t better man.
Mike G I’m using the term “free” because the original comment uses it, not because I believe it. Nothing is “free”, it comes from someone’s pocket sooner or later. Trust me, I understand that providing the public with a “free” product means higher taxes; that’s why I vote against government providing “free” things.
Jake Blue and yes, I am absolutely insinuating that I’m less likely to experience malpractice in the US than I am in Canada because that’s fairly accurate; not only because people pay more for my heath care; but that’s a big factor because it holds people to a higher standard.
