Lol what makes you think they're getting a new engine? They're nearly finished development on Starfield and in preproduction for ES 6. If we see a new engine, I doubt it would be before ES 6. Even then, Bethesda has kept the engine because it's easy to make mod content. I doubt they'd switch.
@@JoBo52 that's actually true. Everyone knows how the current engine works for modding. New engine means learning new things. Though you'd think Bethesda would at least fix their bugs before releasing their games and letting modders fix them.
I just think they need to hire some computer engineers to work full time on updating and modernizing it. It has some neat quirks that I like, but also some amateur issues.
Not really. That narrative is referring to the fact that if you have a PC more power than the most powerful Xbox, why would you even want to play Microsoft exclusive games on Xbox when you can play it on your superior PC. That still hasn't changed, but Microsoft doesn't care.
EX0stasis It’s hyperbole. The games aren’t made yet, but it guarantees that they now have exponentially more talent and games releasing in the next few years. Edit: Sorry for not addressing your comment directly. I meant that as a general reply for this thread.
The biggest thing in my opinion is the biggest engine overhaul that Todd Howard mentioned because we saw same bugs in many of their games. I hope that is a thing about to change while still being manageble to learn for the modding community since IMHO that is one the most important things to BGS
I mean if you want keep all BUGTHESDA games including DOOM exclusively on Xbox sure that's fine FPS games are boring AF I would take ghost of tsushima which I'm currently working my way through any day of the week and twice on Sunday over anything BUGTHESDA shits out simply put BUGTHESDA is bugthetic.
@@davidradloff-licht Funny thing is I don't think much would have changed if EA had bought them, fallout 76 was basically something EA would have made, except EA wouldn't have made it as buggy.
@Enclave Soldier Indeed it is, but can you honestly tell me EA would have made fallout 76 any worse? Bethesda put in everything EA would have done, it has loads of microtransactions, it's an always online multi-player game, and it constantly "encourages" you to buy from the cash store, the only thing I can imagine changing is it wouldn't have been as buggy.
I got the game after the day one patch, and I really liked it. There were tons of additions and improvwments over Fallout 4, another game i liked. At first, I didn't really understand the hate. But as time went on, I finally stated to understand other people's frustrations with it.
I feel like the furthest Xbox would take it would be to have Elder Scrolls 6 come out on Xbox and PC first and have it be a limited time exclusive until they release it to playstation.
@@BurtToast No, it should stay in the xbox family only. I don't mean to be petty but we all know if the shoe were on the other foot, Sony wouldn't allow it on any other system.
I can't see any negatives with this move, at least for me. - All MS exclusives are available for the PC, so I don't lose access to any games. - The Game Pass gets even better with Zenimax titles. - Obsidian might get to work on Fallout again. - Bethesda might finally get that kick to the head it desperately needs. At the very worst, they'll stay the same. Yup, literally zero negatives.
I'm right there with you. I see this as a good thing. Getting new games on day one plus loads of others with the Game pass has been worth it to me. I've been playing them on PC when available but I'm thinking I will probably get the new series X for laid back couch gaming days too.

I've always hated the fact that Zenimax owned Bethesda and all their IP's. They alone in my eyes are the reason Bethesda has had to rush unfinished and buggy games the last few years, and who decided to foist the trainwreck that is FO76 upon us. We didn't ask for it, want it nor is the Creation Engine geared to handle the PVP, Microtransactions and Framerates this game has. @@L_Lawliet1907 maybe more recently, but Bungie developed Halo first. I also wouldn't say Microsoft had no input on the newest Halo releases. Just how much involvement they had is another question.

@Duke Johnson Makes sense if you played them now. I played most of them (Arena till Oblivion) on their actual release dates (I am 37) and not having internet to patch them, but rather wait for a magazine to include the patches on their CD, to be able to play them without crashing randomly, is pretty frustrating. Sarcasm is least I can think of for them, after all I have been through because of their lazyness (or incompetence).
I think this is being underestimated and it's already being taken as a massive thing. It's not just Bethesda, they bought zenimax, the parent company of Bethesda. That means they also own the companies that make Doom and Dishonored etc. They now own a massive amount of the singleplayer games market

Yea, tbh, for awhile it seemed Bethesda business' plan was to make a half baked game and make modders fix the rest...kinda made me loose hope for them. I seriously think they had this model for fallout 78, but realized they shouldn't but it was too close to release lol.
I know that Microsoft stepping up and acquiring game studios was something but to acquire an entire company with multiple studios, a massive backcatalogue of huge games both past and present is massive.
I take this as Microsoft panicking. Whether you're an Xbox fan or a PS5 fan or you think whatever console is better, Sony's launch lineup and titles for their next generation console dwarves Microsoft's own. That's a fact. Microsoft's own exclusive lineup has dwindled over the years, from the height of the Xbox 360. Fable, Gears of War, Crackdown. All gone. Forza and Halo are not enough to carry a console generation when Sony still have their mainstay exclusives in games like God of War including additional ones such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, The Last of Us etc. While buying huge studios like Mojang, Bethesda (Zenimax) and the rare gem that Obsidian releases won't have an immediate effect, Microsoft needs to have a reason for the consumer market to buy an Xbox in the future. They have been unable to compete with Sony on the exclusive front. This is an attempt to spend money to futureproof a share in the console market. The possibility of an exclusive Fallout NV 2, an exclusive Doom, an exclusive Elderscrolls and Fallout and just exclusivity of any huge RPG game born from both Obsidian and Bethesda is pretty damn convincing. My only concern is on the PC, will those games be exclusive to Windows Games? Cutting out Steam, Steam Workshop etc? Because that's going to cause one hell of a sh* storm beyond cutting out Sony fans.
I think Bethesda’s games are clunky and not fun anyways.. this transaction does not bother or affect me. Even if it is Xbox exclusives? You can still play the shit on PC. This news is not that bad.
Bethesda fell into the abyss a decade ago. Theyve not made a good game for a long time now. Dont act like Skyrim is god, its an overrated shitshow. The absolute worst combat of any rpg today.
Nintendo: How’d you get the exclusives from bethesda?
Xbox: I bought bethesda.
Lawliet what's good
One of the only good meme in Batman v Superman. Never failed to make me laugh
Playstation players: "We got exclusives"
Microsoft: Buys Bethesda
Playstation players: Surprised pikachu face
I think Bethesda’s games are clunky and not fun anyways.. this transaction does not bother or affect me. Even if it is Xbox exclusives? You can still play the shit on PC. This news is not that bad.
Bethesda fell into the abyss a decade ago. Theyve not made a good game for a long time now. Dont act like Skyrim is god, its an overrated shitshow. The absolute worst combat of any rpg today. Everybody and their grandmothers have been talking major shit nonstop about Todd Howard for the last what? 7 years or so? Now all of a sudden they are good again? How so?
@Patrick B Todd Howard already said that there games will still go to playstation and Nintendo lol it's like a minecraft deal where they just own them and still put there games everywhere
No pikachu face because it's not an exclusive 😂
They wouldn't even dare to make Elder Scrolls or Fallout an Xbox exclusive, so I will get it on PC.
There is no reason for anyone to get an xbox, PC + PS5 is where it's at.
@@jakelee7083 yes but I'm depressed bcus if made exclusive something I've been waiting for for 9 years will be gone
Ppl in 5 yrs: i miss when fallout games used to crash every 30min
Don't worry somone will make a mod for that is they still have mods in the future
The: Original feeling mod
-game crash every 30 min
-loading times rivaling gtao
-clipping issues
-broken animations
@@Ravenoros they wont get rid of mods they are a selling point for bethesda and xbox was the ones who helped them get mods on xbox in the form they are now (I can imagine that there was some leg pulling with that lol)
Lol imagine thinking we'll have a new Fallot game in 5 years...... TES6 is probably coming in 2023-24
Ppl in 5 years: I miss when Bethesda games were actually worth the money that spent on them.
Master Chief: Are you having a laugh. He does exactly what I do.
Doom guy: But better.
I keep hearing "accusations" whenever Legacy says "acquisitions"
smdh
that's because he's mispronouncing it.
Aqusations
hearing "ack-yew-zishuns" and its killing me inside.
Lmaoooo yes yes yes
I’m in two minds about this.
On one hand I don’t like how a vast majority of companies are being bought up by all these major corporations.
On the other hand, Bethesda has been proving they are utterly incompetent with their IPs. They couldn’t even release Doom Eternal without a post-release screwup.
I feel the same exact way.
Basically yes. Bethesda can't sink much lower at this point, so some kind of change was warranted, maybe Micro can whip them into shape.
this is truly a sad day screw you microsoft
@@TheProrage509 it's not capitalism.... It's corporationalism they are not working harder they are just making monopoly with money
jocaguz18 you really just said that? You are dumb
Sony: [buys a gaming studio] "More exclusives yay!!!!"
Microsoft: "Ah that's cool. Lemme see what I can do." *[buys an entire gaming publisher]*
So next they'll buy EA
Largest single acquisition ever in the gaming industry
Next is Sony
@@D00ML0RD1 Yooo, maybe we'll ACTUALLY get a new Madden that isn't this year's Madden! /s
They didnt buy bethesda but zenimax right? So they own more than just bethesda with that deal right?
Hope they force Bethesda to finish their games before release.
Hey if this gets us Fallout: New Vegas 2, I ain’t mad.
@The Archangel Please elaborate
@The Archangel jeezes
The Archangel now i HAVE to hear this man explain his reasons. Pls dont throw in some crap like old graphic or janky gameplay
The Archangel I’m genuinely curious as to why you think that arguably one of the best fallout games game and story wise is bad? Is it the outdated graphics because we can 100% that the graphics are very dated.
@The Archangel To disagree is your right. To disrespect is your fault. Shame on you.
Lets hope this doesn't end up like when Disney bought Star Wars ...
I don't think Xbox has the talent to be as incompetent as Disney.
....
* Knocks on wood *
@@Chronically_ChiII I go with einstein on that: Two things are endless. The universe and mankinds stupidity. But i am not sure on the first one.
The Disney movies aren’t bad though. Nothing they made comes close to the quality of story from Attack of the Clones level of bad. I actually liked The Last Jedi despite its flaws.
they bought SW for the movies and merch. they dont really care about the games.
To be fair, Star Wars wasn't in a good shape even before Disney bought it.
PS: Spiderman will be exclusive to PS's version of Marvel's Avengers
Microsoft: Hold my Nuka Cola
@walker jfs god, only if Microsoft will take Bioware away from EA cold dead hand too.
Lmmfao
@FMA B nup. What about the first mgs trilogy?
@@santhoshsridhar5887 As somebody who's played mgs 2 and 3 so many times that I can play either game in my head I personally think Halo is just a bit more fun/challemging on legendary at least
Imagine working with Master Chief in Doom as the second player or you get Doom and Master Chief suits as easter eggs only on Xbox platform.
So... Obsidian meets Bethesda again, eh? Joe Biden, play Despacito.
Lmao
Wow, Microsoft just pulled the most epic gamer move in gaming history
Hello fellow cat
