Its not a matter of Biden and Trump anymore but the future of the country
The Supreme Court is IMHO, in a large part corrupt. The Conservative Supremes pretend to be ORIGINALISTS, HOWEVER, they are not unless it fits their whim. The Supreme Court Judges know DAMN WELL, that our Founding Fathers did not want a Unitary Presidency, they Did Not want a Monarchy. The settlers her were in a large part those who left England because of the English Monarchy and the Devine Rights of Kings and Queens. In no reasonable way can they construe the Presidency to be a position above the law.
Read the Federalist Papers, STOP BEING SHEEPLE!!!
Additionally, Trump's Acts were not within the outside orbit of his power or authority. The Executive Branch has no Authority WRT to Presidential Elections. Presidents are immune to Civil Suits while holding office, not Criminal Acts. Even further a past President is not covered by Civil or Criminal immunity for unofficial acts!

I don't know why/how this is a question. But I believe in 2024, the discussion of this is just a waste of time and the taxpayers' dollars! The Justices seem to be asking good questions. I have already heard enough to respond "NO Presidential immunity! Hopefully SCOTUS will render the same decision as I did.

If all the charges in the indictment are about non-official acts, which is the case, then why is the Supreme Court even getting involved in this matter?? Nobody is arguing that Trump was acting officially. The question of official vs. non-official doesn't even arise from the indictments!!! It's hard to see a legitimate legal question that made it necessary for SCOTUS to hear this case. It ends up serving only one purpose, and that is to delay the Jan. 6 case against Trump long enough to insure it won't be heard until after the election. Unforgivable.

While I disagree, I think the argument is that Congress should hold a president liable. This, of course, is contrary to what the Senate claimed in choosing not to find the president guilty of the alleged charge of impeachment.

They know he is holding back many. Then he is found saying he took documents and they should not be shown. They are numbered and kept track of. In 80s they had 3 4 military veterans who had been in service for decades. They just made copies at hime or other places cause they were trusted. Then the clasified things were printed on paper that wouldnt be able to be photocopied, faxed,photograph. If it was tried it would be detected. Trump was as bad a OJ. Yet he then said i didnt consider the proper way that was to declassified things i didnt think it was right. Then he said i can just think about it and it was declassified. Then he asked for them back. So the FBI Planted them. Then you say i took them cause it wasnt a thing i thoight mattered. Then he jyst declassified them thinking about it? Then he wanted them back? From planted documents to yes i took them to i want them back? If anyone's fingerprints orher tha his are on most documents? He showed or was not securing them. To make a distinction between a private and an official act suggests that the incumbent of the American presidency has the ability to periodically go on or off duty.. Rather, from the moment a president assumes office to the expiry of that appointment, the incumbent is never off duty. The official is not an hourly rated employee!

This is going to take the Supreme Court some time to make a decision because it will become law for so many years into the future.
Actually, those justices who kept saying that they were concerned for the future were departing from a longstanding principle that guides the work of the Supreme Court. That is, that it keeps its review to the most narrow margins, to deliberate only over the specifics of the case before them, rather than venture into the realm of legislating from the bench. They seem to have totally forgotten that, or at least a few of them have, in their current deliberations. It's pretty alarming, frankly. Too much of today's discussion had nothing to do with the Jan. 6 case!

It shouldn’t be a question at all. Complete immunity for the President is the literal opposite of what the United States was founded on and has stood for in all of its existence.
So Trump made a official act that he called the Georgia officials and asked for them to find him votes. Then he also made a official act with taking documents from the whitehouse that he first claimed were planted. Then he did not think the proper way to declassify them were necessary. Then he could just think of it and they were declassified. Finally he asked for them back. So his official act was that he never took anything from the and the FBI planted them.
